um.. i just noticed this.. but airport express doesnt work with movies??? nor anything else?? When they say airtunes.. they really mean music from itunes??? please tell me im wrong. Please tell me that I can use my speakers wirelessly through AE to watch videos/movies/etc...

Uh, yea. Only for music on iTunes as far as I know. Does anyone know if there's a work around?

Received mine today using for AirTunes. Took some fiddling (some resets) but works GREAT!

Security question... I connected to a neighbor's network to see if I could see the AEX and can't. Is there anything I should be aware of to prevent access to my network via the AEX or am I safe? Mode is "Join a wireless network." Assuming you'd have to go through my AEBS to get to it...

I too appreciate this and the other threads.

I believe a shareware app called Airfoil will solve your problem.

Installed Airfoil (trial) and played a DVD over AE but the voice sync was off by a split second - just enough to really be distracting. Is this a problem with anyone else that uses Airfoil? Is there a way to correct this?
Thanks in advance.

Got my Airport Express today.

I was impressed at how easy it is to setup-took about 1-2 minutes.

Was able to join my existing wireless network (built in Airport on my mini + D-Link 54g router) easily.

AirTunes is wonderful-had music streaming to the speakers I use for my iPod (Logitech mm50).

Also- a version 7.3.1 firmware was available (only about a week since Airport Express got 802.11n).

So... does anyone know what might be the best position for the AirPort Express?

Usually when I had my Linksys I could adjust the antenna... but the AirPort Express have them hidden inside the case!! So the best I can guess from now is looking at the pictures at Apple home page where they had it upright and "WiFi waves" in a circle.

Wireless speaker capacity?

Is the :apple: Airport Express limited to playing Airtunes through speakers that are connected via the mini-stereo port? I know that the Airport Express is incompatible with speakers that are connected via USB, but does this necessarily mean that wireless speakers are likewise incompatible?

Thanks for any help! :D

It has a 3.5mm audio output as advertised. This is where you can plug in speakers, or anything with a line in.

The USB is to be used for a printer.
