They've got really, really big teeth. And lots of them. Imagine if they still had to deal with stuff like this by sending out floppies!Lacero said:Apple must be paying for bandwidth through their teeth.

Mum called to say that she'd downloaded it and couldn't get online. Mine was downloading at this point and the same thing happened. Quitting Safari and restarting brought it all back but was a little odd...
I suspect that you are correct. In fact, I believe that the main reason for the jump in version numbers from 5.x to 6.x was for DRM and new security for purchasing online. iTunes has been supporting video playback since 4.7.x or earlier and most of the other changes in going from iTunes 5.x to 6.x appear to have happened on the server side at Apple and not in the iTunes client that runs on your computer.Stike said:The passage concerning the purchased music makes me think that this is just some anti-piracy update...
Sometimes a network administer will download the package. And then each user computer gets installed. So each computer would need to abide by the terms.MontyZ said:And I wonder why Apple finds it necessary to make you Agree to legal terms before downloading the update, and then you have to do it again when you first start the updated program. Seemed redundant and a tad annoying.

Anyone else?

It's been doing that for a long time, but I forget if it started with Panther or Tiger.MontyZ said:I noticed that Software Update is doing something a bit different. After iTunes update download was complete and installed, it automatically checked for more updates before ending. I don't recall it doing that before.
