The international launch of Apple's Vision Pro headset could finally occur in July, just over six months after the device was released in the United States.

A source familiar with the matter told MacRumors that the Apple Vision Pro is now scheduled to launch internationally in July. Separately, MacRumors is aware that some Apple Stores in the UK recently received large deliveries on pallets, believed to be couches designed for Vision Pro demos, that staff are not yet allowed to open. Apple Retail Managers in the UK have been told to begin the process of planning to transition the Avenues to facilitate Vision Pro accessories. Further refreshes of in-store visuals are also planned for July.

The international launch of the Vision Pro is likely to fall in the third or fourth week of July. Given this timing, there is a chance that Apple will confirm the date at its WWDC keynote on June 10.

This time frame is later than anticipated by many analysts, such as Ming-Chi Kuo, who said that Apple was highly likely to launch the Vision Pro internationally before WWDC to drive interest in visionOS 2. The United Kingdom, Canada, and China are rumored to be the first markets to receive the product outside the United States.

I'm so disappointed. If all goes well, it's a six-month delay on a device that has a two-year cycle before being replaced by the new model.

I wonder if now ALL the fortune 100 companies are using Vision Pro instead of just the more than half that Tim said were using during the earnings call?
Serious question (not directed at you necessarily, your comment made me think of it):
Did Tim elaborate at all about how those Fortune 100 companies are using AVP?

I’m still waiting to see how “the masses” can use it (spatial computing and the AVP itself) to improve productivity in any way over other available tools. So far it seems to be little more than a media consumption platform. If the bulk of the “WOW!” use cases are niche, industry-specific applications, perhaps Apple should have focused more on that market instead of portraying this as a general consumer device.

Anyone abroad who seriously wanted one would’ve somehow attained one already. Those with the financial means to buy one can easily either travel to the states or find a resell unit.
No, because the risk is buying an expensive product and having no guarantee in case of problems.
I'm waiting for it to come out in the UK for that very reason, I had the chance to get it in the US, but it was too risky.

I think that Apple guarantee is international, for at least one year? I remember seeing a Canadian man walking into an Apple Store in Geneva and having his iPhone swapped, as it could not be repaired on the spot.

Apple Care Plus is international, but it’s pointless having an international guarantee if there aren’t spare parts in your country.

Apple could make the Vision Pro less expensive in Canada and more expensive in Europe and Asia. The seesaw pricing strategy.

No? 🤣 Russians didn't get your memo. They've been available for sale in Russia since the Vision Pro launched in the U.S.

Russians aren’t supposed to have access to the Vision Pro: The brand-new product, which was released on Feb. 2 and available in Moscow just days later, is only officially available for sale inside the United States.

If they add some AI features to this like the Rabbit R1 and Humane Pin were supposed to have, this might sell in much greater numbers; the R1 and the Pin were both held back by not having good displays (and the lengthy delay before getting replies... and just not being good products at all....)

But an augmented-reality headset with AI features that are fast? I think people would be buying it left and right despite the price tag.

They are held back because AI isn’t quite there yet, and the same would be true for the AVP.

Not sure Apple can (or is willing to) just add AI features to it as it's got an outdated M2 chip, not one of Apple's newfangled M4 "AI" chips

I could see Apple reserving AI for an updated Vision Pro to get people to upgrade, similar to how Apple limits new features (e.g. ability to check battery health and cycle count; limit battery charging to 80%; restore and see years-old deleted photos) to newer iPhone 15 models.

“International Test Drive”
Recently flew back from Schipol, I only saw people in world business class with iPads and laptops, whereas in econ basic, I saw several people with their Vision Pro strapped on.
Mind you, they were a younger group of people, I’m feeling old.
