That's it - I'm out! I could deal with the specialty lenses I need to get it, getting the right fit to avoid light-leaks, the heaviness and bulkiness, and the battery life...but not supporting WiFi 6e? That is absurd.

Steve would not approve of not having WiFi 6e.
Someone said “Steve Jobs would never” everyone take a drink.

Also he approved the first iPhone without 3G or 802.11n when the MacBook pros had N so…

iPhone isn’t even in the same price range as this thing. You’re buying a $3,500 device (or more) that doesn’t support an “old” WiFi spec. WiFi 7 routers and devices ship now.

Google can put WiFi 7 in their smartphones from last year which are cheaper so why can’t Apple do it with iPhone or these goggles?

Google makes smartphones? /s

Well, looks like Apple had to sacrifice some feature to save battery life unfortunately. Considering it has very skimpy battery life, turning on Ultra Wideband and 6E drained battery life.

Would imagine adding cellular support (which I think everyone really wants) would kill the battery quickly.

Wait I thought the Apple Vision Pro had 5G cellular? 😲

Does it really matter the Vision Pro lacks WiFi 6e.
Yes - one of the primary use cases is wifi streaming of the display of your computer to your headset, and you want the fastest connection possible. Most people probably don't have other 6e hardware yet, but you don't want to have to upgrade your 3500 headset just to get faster wifi that should have been included outright.

This is just sad. A device this expensive in 2024 should have Wi-Fi 6E. Especially for a device like this where the benefit of the interference-free 6 GHz band could be greatly beneficial.

Well honestly I wouldn’t want to be wearing all that powerful wireless radiation ☢️ on my head due to health concerns.
Maybe you’re not aware, but it’s physically the same as heat radiation (= infrared light), just with lower frequency (= lower energy). So at best it will heat your head by 0.01 degrees or something. What’s dangerous is higher-frequency radiation like UV/x-rays/gamma rays.

WiFi 6E doesn’t roll off the tongue like WiFi 6 or WiFi 7. The next Vision Pro will have WiFi 7 in 2027, along with M5? Cellular model in 2030.
