Someone said “Steve Jobs would never” everyone take a drink. That's it - I'm out! I could deal with the specialty lenses I need to get it, getting the right fit to avoid light-leaks, the heaviness and bulkiness, and the battery life...but not supporting WiFi 6e? That is absurd.
Steve would not approve of not having WiFi 6e.
Tim Cook probably talked him into it.Someone said “Steve Jobs would never” everyone take a drink.
Also he approved the first iPhone without 3G or 802.11n when the MacBook pros had N so…
Crafty time traveling Tim.Tim Cook probably talked him into it.![]()
It’s back on mine too. Weird.Only in your timeline. It’s still there in mine.
and if it did, you'd be complaining that you have to upgrade your router ...Should be Wi-Fi 7 in 2024. Apple is so cheap
My Mac Studio does. This is a given, no?
Vision Pro was engineering during the M2-era. No other M2 products have 6E.
Tim was COO in 2007.Crafty time traveling Tim.
iPhone isn’t even in the same price range as this thing. You’re buying a $3,500 device (or more) that doesn’t support an “old” WiFi spec. WiFi 7 routers and devices ship now.
Google can put WiFi 7 in their smartphones from last year which are cheaper so why can’t Apple do it with iPhone or these goggles?
Well, looks like Apple had to sacrifice some feature to save battery life unfortunately. Considering it has very skimpy battery life, turning on Ultra Wideband and 6E drained battery life.
Would imagine adding cellular support (which I think everyone really wants) would kill the battery quickly.
Yes - one of the primary use cases is wifi streaming of the display of your computer to your headset, and you want the fastest connection possible. Most people probably don't have other 6e hardware yet, but you don't want to have to upgrade your 3500 headset just to get faster wifi that should have been included outright.Does it really matter the Vision Pro lacks WiFi 6e.
Well honestly I wouldn’t want to be wearing all that powerful wireless radiation ☢️ on my head due to health concerns.Man, I was so excited about the Vision Pro, but this is a total showstopper. What are they thinking?
That makes no sense at all…and if it did, you'd be complaining that you have to upgrade your router ...
Wait I thought the Apple Vision Pro had 5G cellular? 😲
Nope. No cellular support. Which is a huge let down in my opinion. But then again, first gen device so it makes sense.Wait I thought the Apple Vision Pro had 5G cellular? 😲
Maybe you’re not aware, but it’s physically the same as heat radiation (= infrared light), just with lower frequency (= lower energy). So at best it will heat your head by 0.01 degrees or something. What’s dangerous is higher-frequency radiation like UV/x-rays/gamma rays.Well honestly I wouldn’t want to be wearing all that powerful wireless radiation ☢️ on my head due to health concerns.
I coulda swore wifi 6e was mentioned last summer... I remember being disappointed it was not 7
Definitely. Same reason why the Action Button is so gimped. I mean, no double press action? Give me a breakI seriously think it's this.
No it isn’t was final a few weeks back. Many spec 7 devices are currently getting upgraded to finalWi-fi 7 is still in Draft form at this time so its not finalised, so current hardware cannot be guaranteed to support the final specs.
They should have called it Wifi Sexy.WiFi 6E doesn’t roll off the tongue like WiFi 6 or WiFi 7.
