Too many people try to live inside of their devices I'm sure vision pro is something that makes people just wanna leave those damn things on 24 seven. I don't think they were meant to be worn all day lon

Why can't you just strap balloons to your Apple Vision Pro to make the device weigh less?

Apple recommends taking a break from the headset every 20 to 30 minutes during the acclimation period, and to stop using the headset when feeling unwell. Apple does not recommend that people experiencing eye strain, headache, or pain continue to use the device.
Perfect excuse for an employee to take the day off.

Business productivity will take a hit if too many workers develop health issues using it.

Apple explained how the Vision Pro can enhance business productivity, featuring integration with widely used applications like SAP Analytics Cloud and Microsoft 365 in a spatial computing context.

but Apple used to wait with a new product until they are actually ready. For instance, I don’t think „old„ Apple would have released a device that weights more than a competitor out of principle. Another indicator of being rushed is releasing improved personas only after a 3rd (?) update. You would think they’d release it out of the gate with it instead of having people making fun of how bad it looks the first month after launch

This x 1000.

Some Apple Vision Pro owners have been dealing with health issues related to the wearing of the headset, according to a report from MarketWatch. The site spoke to Vision Pro owners experiencing headaches and neck pain, among other issues.

Emily Olman, marketing chief of Hopscotch Interactive, said she got two "superdark black eyes" after wearing the Vision Pro for the first time, likely caused by the weight on the cheeks. Ian Beacraft, CEO of consulting firm Signal, told MarketWatch that he had pain at the base of his skull and his upper back.

There have also been complaints about the Vision Pro on Reddit from users experiencing ongoing headaches, eye strain, and pain from the weight of the device. Some users have had luck with modified straps and third-party products, and other people have no issue with the headset and the default band options.

Apple declined to comment on the customer complaints, directing MarketWatch to its user guidelines. Apple recommends taking a break from the headset every 20 to 30 minutes during the acclimation period, and to stop using the headset when feeling unwell. Apple does not recommend that people experiencing eye strain, headache, or pain continue to use the device.

This product seems so un-Apple and like Tim Cook rushed it to market before he retires.

Apple always waited for tech to be a reasonable (price & hardware) before unleashing. This is like if they debuted AirPods in 2012 at a price $799 and the battery lasts 1 hour.
It is unusual.. most first gen Apple products are ready for market and consumers... and sit nicely in a niche and take off.

This feels more like a prototype. Probably the most prototype apple product Ive ever seen in decades.

Another thing I notice about this device is that the design language for each component looks different, the strap, the light isolator, the headset, the battery... it really isn't the usual Apple industrial design at all..

It's like someone had 5 or 6 different teams making each bit seperately and just before release, they slotted them all together.

Must be a testament to the experience of using the device that people continue wearing it despite all of the side effects.

Class action lawsuit initiating in 5... 4... 3... 2... 1....

there’s no way those that are reporting this problem are wearing it correctly or are using the correct light seal for their face. i practically fall asleep in mine.

Yes, welcome to the world where everyone is a victim of their own creation, and won't admit it. 😬 These few complainers get amplified across the internet, and we often don't hear about all of the great experiences from highly satisfied users.

Who else here owns a Vision Pro and is enjoying it thoroughly because you set it up properly?

I don't know how big of a deal this is, but it is kind of telling that the latest I've heard in a while about a brand new tentpole product is that it's causing bruising and neck aches.

It's not so much just these problems, but that there doesn't be a lot of enthusiasm or uptake, which I guess was expected.

Apple has the money to give this product legs whether it deserves it or not.

Apple as a leaner company was forced to come up with products that had much more immediate value and were more impactful (like the iPod).

Apple couldn't have come out with the iPod and have had defenders say well it'll take a few generations and yeah people might bruise their thighs with it in their pockets for a year while they work on slimming it down.

Same with Apple's software. They used to come out with more compelling immediately useful software on the Mac more often.

Now they have money to rest on their laurels and to come out with things that through market size and iterative investments can grow over time (like the Apple Watch and apparently the Vision Pro) when they're not really great products. I mean even now I would argue the Apple Watch could be so much more than it is—hardware that is way underutilized—but it like the Vision Pro had a particularly rocky start.

I am not surprised on the head ache part at all. Devices like the Apple Vision really messes with our eyes as the field of focus is really close but our brain and eyes think it is really far away on items so the focusins gets messed up and it is really hard on both the eyes and brain as what it expect to happen and reality dont line up. Trying to focus for far away and turns out to not work.

These were things found out early on with things like Google Glasses and oculus rift well before Facebook bought them. It is not something Apple can solve it is a fundmental an issue with the tech.

And on top of that, every single person that wears it looks a complete and utter fool.
Apple usually have a good handle on the appearance too.. I think this is one aspect they should have looked at more. I wonder what research they did when finding a design people liked...

Another question would be... what on earth were the other options they considered, if its the best one they had 😂
