  • Movies, viewing videos and other content. I want watch content taking up my entire field of vision while tripping. I'm curious to see it work with my MBA.

I’m getting mine delivered, mostly because the Apple Store app was a bit glitchy and wouldn’t let me select the store closest to me. UPS usually delivers early afternoon to my building.

Love this thread.

I ordered the base model 256 GB, a Syntech brand case on Amazon, no AppleCare+.

I plan to use the Vision Pro for mirroring my Mac workspaces during the workday as well as entertainment at night. Basically whatever my neck muscles are going to allow.

Now that the preorders have started, how about we start a thread for buyers to post their thoughts? A few questions to get started:
  • Which model did you order?
  • Did you get any accessories?
  • Did you get AppleCare+?
  • What do you expect to use the Apple Vision Pro for?
2 Units:

  • 1GB & 256
  • APV Case
  • Zeiss Inserts
  • AppleCare+ x 2
  • Movies & Media Viewing & Development

Ordered one a couple of minutes after it went live, got a 2 feb window.
Then canceled it because of the need for a US AppleId for everything (i got one, but all my stuff is on amother country),

Then I regretted it and reordered; now I have a delivery from February 20th to 27th. After that, I still need to export it to the Netherlands where I live. Quite excited now, especially after reading the reviews.

- 256 GB
- No inserts.
- No case but will be ordering the spigen one
- No Apple Care, but I'll likely opt for the monthly variant.
- Mainly for consuming content; anything else that comes with it is a bonus.

For once we in the U.S. don't need to jealously watch as a new Apple product launches in New Zealand or Australia the "day before" our stores open. :)

For those with early pick-up appointments or first on their UPS drivers' stops, please post your initial thoughts in this thread tomorrow.

Oh yeah that's right - in the past with iPhones, iPads, Macs, etc the folks on the other side of the international date line got their mitts on them first!!

This is such an interesting experiment. I just got fitted with my iPhone. Now THAT was cool and very easy.

I would buy one if I was sure. It wouldn't bother me to return this, but the level of uncertainty is so great, I have to be prudent. Frivolity does not work.

But it's just fascinating at the very least. This forum is going to be fun.

i have a 12:30-4:30 delivery window so will be looking forward to the posts from those who get their AVPs this morning.

  • 256GB (same as my iPad which is plenty for my use - see below)
  • Case (bunch of options from Amazon to test out), Battery (hopefully the Anker 30W 10k is good for an extra 3-4 hours)
  • Nope (It’ll be on my head or in a case. I may get a screen protector film to protect against scratches if the EyeSight feature is worth sacrificing for peace of mind)
  • Watching movies on planes (Netflix is really being a buzzkill about this) & enjoying my travel photos (curious to see how iCloud will resize 45MP images or 4K videos)

Well, I may officially be one of the first people to return it. It seems to just flat out not work with my eyes. It has me move the lenses as close together as the headset allows and pass through is a blurry **** show. I tried both light seals to no avail. There is a 0% chance I can read text on my phone while using it. Not really sure what to do other than return it. The lenses were basically smashing my nose because they had to move so close.

Things like this is what I've been waiting for - reviews from "real" users, as opposed to paid or otherwise compensated reviewers. Looking forward to the good, the "meh" and the bad from everyone.

Trying to do an update before I unfortunately have to return it. It’s incredible though. Unlike any VR experience I have had. Not sure if I can go return if Apple will have a suggestion, but the AR is so blurry for me.

Go to the Apple Store and get a new seal. The app got some of the measurements slightly off. They will lay out around 10 seals and fit you with each one until you find the perfect fit.

THIS is why I can't justify the price tag - I want it for the exact same reason, media consumption in the physical space. But I don't know that immersion is worth ~$4k

I don’t think it’s a fit issue as much as a spacing of my eyes issue. The images on screen look perfect, but the pass through is what’s blurry.

If the image on screen is clear then I don't think that's an eye spacing issue. Both that and the passthrough would look blurry if the spacing of the lenses was off.

I notice that the passthrough on mine is kind of blurry/pixelated too.

I am still waiting for my prescription lenses though, and my room isn't super bright so that could be contributing.
