As I await my 13 Pro I have connected my iPhone to my iMac and get the "a software update is required" and nothing happened for about 5 min but now it is stuck at About 1 minute 33 seconds remaining....for the last several minutes. Hopefully it will eventually continue installing. I think it is affecting the iMac and not my phone but it's very frustrating. It would be some dark humor to not be able to backup my iphone although I did so just a few days ago. 'cmon installation...get going again!

Here’s what I did on my new iPad mini.

Restored from back-up
Let everything load and update, but didn’t touch Apple Music
Used Software Update to update to 15.0

And that’s it. Everything seems to be working normally, including Apple Music.
This is exactly how I did it on my 13 Pro - restored, then updated to 15.0. Everything is working normally after the update.

I restored from back up and then installed the update. Then I hooked up to my MBP to restore my music.

My AM had lapsed so I guess that’s why I had no issues.

Not even - setup as you usually would and then run the update afterwards. No problems here.
Apple suggests to run the update first before setting up the phone. And that is how I did it yo make sure I had zero issues, which is what I had.

I installed the new iOS 15 update and yet my iPhone 13 Pro still does not load my library in either the Music app nor the TV app (meaning purchased movies and TV shows).

If I go into the iTunes Store on my phone, and go to Purchased, all the media are recognized as being purchased by me, so it is not an issue with linking my Apple ID account.

Is anyone else having this problem after updating?

No, no they don't. They suggest doing exactly what I did - look at the support document. It says "if you can't access your music library, run the update".

Someone in this thread came up with the completely life wasting unnessary step of setting everything up as new, updating then resorting from a backup. Absolute zero need as confirmed by Apple.

The point is, Apple software quality is declining. Their “stable” releases are no longer as stable as they used to be, and no longer meets customer expectations.
This post could have literally been written any time since this forum launched. You can go back to 2001 and see people writing this about OS X.
