And there are millions of nerds who wear the Apple Watch daily and do not value your 'Bias'.

Well ain't that the pot calling the kettle black. But I'm the one evaluating each watch on their pros and cons. I'm the one that owns and wears multiple watches, and chooses to wear each depending on the occasion. I'm the one that doesn't defend any of my watches (or anything else I own) based on the logo stamped on it. All humans have biases. It's just a matter of whose one believes are more attenuated than others.

And clearly you didn't even bother to read my posts, just give a knee jerk response to the things I don't like about AW. Had you read my posts fully you'd discover I also am a daily AW wearer -- but not because it's a beautiful watch. It's not it's on the fugly side. It's to watches what Brutalism is to architecture. Swiss watches have been the standard of watch design for centuries. You look silly trying to bash them or suggest the AW comes anywhere near in its elegance.

Also, to be clear here, I didn't write AW was designed FOR nerds, I wrote it was designed BY Silicon Valley nerds. Big distinction there.

You are 100% correct, there are many nerds who may not value my opinion. I'm not looking for their worship though. I'm just expressing my thoughts, and also, where applicable exposing fact and truth where some might want to hide it. I'm not interested in bashing just to bash. I'm not looking to pull Apple down from it's podium (I have a financial interest in Apple doing well). But my #1 interest is having the most interesting, useful, best looking technology around, not to mindlessly bolster a brand like it's a family member or friend.

I can't see apple doing this but I would love for them to incorporate the monitoring tech into a watch strap so I can retrofit my analog watch.

no camera?
God, I hope it doesn't add a camera.

Too much space, limited utility, and too much potential for skeeziness.

Look up Samsung's stalker commercial for their Gear which featured a snowboarder trying to impress a pretty girl with the pictures he secretly took of her.

Same old argument. Anyone can do the same thing now with any cell phone camera. The illusion of privacy is just that ... Society is plagued with cameras everywhere, pictures are being taken serriptitiously everyday everywhere without the subject's knowledge or consent. Any technology can be abused. There are far more advantages to having a camera on the Watch than not, whether you personally appreciate them or not, space permitting.

List the advantages, please, and tell us how easy it would be to use. Also tell us if we'd be able to edit the photos on the watch and share them on Pin-stagram-book-itter.

Then tell us where the camera would fit in the case while allowing the user to choose the screen orientation.

I can see it now "Adobe Photoshop VT for Apple Watch" (VT for Very Tiny) Comes with a bottle of valium to quell the frustration/rage with not being able to click on the toolbars unless you are using Apple Pencil! :D (and a magnifying glass for those of us over 40) :)

Oh, c'mon - with the massive battery in apple watch, you have to get at least 5-10 minutes of FaceTime video before it's dead. ;)

I think in all fairness, it sounds from your previous posts, your from an older generation and appreciate different things, being I am younger.

In any case, the Apple Watch will continue to evolve, as all of Apple products do. That's the world we live in, nothing is perfect the first time around.

I like to consider my self a nerd that knows how to carry himself and look good doing it. I have luxury and technology, but I like the Apple Watch and for a first Gen Watch hardware wise (I own the Stainless Version) it's very nice, software wise is finally catching up with Watch OS3.

Hopefully, version 2 will bring something more, and it will continue to evolve as we progress.

I have explained this to you specifically on numerous occasions, as well as to why your paranoia over privacy is undeserved. Editing photos on the watch would be pointless, and totally misses the point. It's clear you are against this, and have no use for it, so no need to really debate it with you, nor likely the "us" to which you refer.

You did?

Anyway, a watch-borne camera is a lame idea, which is why none of the other smartwatches have them now.

That must be why none of the other smartwatches have easy to swap band collections either. Or digital crowns, or taptic engines. Then again, Android doesn't have anything as good, or universally adopted or reliable as FaceTime, so maybe that's the reason.

I am suspecting Apple will only renew its Watch lineup every 2-3 Years.

I don't think Apple wants to out date Watches as fast as iPhones because people have spent a fortune on the watches especially the Watch Edition and even the Apple Watch Stainless Steel models etc. I know Apple is all about making money but they don't seem to want to piss off their dedicated fans. Personally speaking, I cannot afford to update my watch as often as my iPhone and I upgrade my iPhone every year....

They might introduce Watch upgrade program.
You bring your old watch (just the watch, you keep the bands) and get a new one every other year. The old watches can be sold refurbished.

Even if it was possible, why on earth would Apple buy Omega? To make their watch more "manelry"?
The design of the Apple Watch is something that Apple will keep to themselves I believe. They hired Marc Newson of Ikepod for a reason ... Most of the Newson designed Ikepods are very large and quite ugly so I guess you could call them "manelry" if you want. No need for Omega or Rolex.

Edit: here's an interesting interview with Newson http://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle...-new-guy-behind-the-apple-watch-10229835.html

Generally speaking, the Apple Watch design is somewhat unique in that it doesn't follow a traditional watch look. Majority of watch dials are round, and those that have rectangular dials are generally thinner.

My personal preference/requirement is for something that can be worn as a stylish accessory with the function that the device provides. In my opinion, I recognize yours seems to differ, the Google/Tag Connect is a good example of trying to fit within those guidelines.

In terms of style, I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone that would consider the look of the Apple Watch sits there with the renowned Swiss watches.

However, I will say that if the Apple Watch could make me teleport, I wouldn't be as concerned with the look:D

The lack of built-in GPS is still a non-starter for me. GPS chips are so small now, it amazes me the Apple Watch lacks one.

The GPS functionality is important to me, as I’m a runner. I would love to have a device I could use during my runs to record my tracks and give me accurate speed and mileage information, without having to lug around my phone.

Many world records in running and walking in the history of sport were achived withoud having an GPS-unit.

It´s not important to have GPS-data for your training if you always do more than you can and pushing your limits very hard. If you always do your absolute best, it´s not important how many miles you did and how fast you were. I don´t see the plus in these information. If you are training the way you do, there is always a big risk, that you are limiting yourself.

All friends and guys I know using "hightech" to train are just achiving average results. Their results are ok, but nothing more. It´s like a trend using all this stuff, but it mostly seems to be a little bit a show-off thing.

Maybe I´m wrong.

Which begs the question, why did you buy 3? Wouldn't you buy one and see if you think it's worth a damn before shelling out for all 3?

Easy to say that now. Just wait til the AW2 is out, then you'll break down and get it because it's new and shiny and somewhat better.
Nope, there's no reason to get it. The first does everything I need and a lot more.
