Sure they'll look great

Ridiculous. Build in an 8MP camera to start.

I reckon the 3rd/4th gen could be quite a tempting proposition. Less about fashion and more about health and functionality.

Can't ever see it making Apple the same amount of $$$'s any of its other product lines do. Though they are doing their best to get it above the Macs.
For health nuts I suppose.

For capturing all sorts of photos on the go when you're without your phone.

The placement means it would almost have to face forward, unless you're asking for this:

I'm glad they aren't adding cellular independence. That's just another data plan for pay for. GPS though is a must and it looks like we'll get it.

This. A few people I know have the Gear and their watch literally has it's own cell phone number. I couldn't imagine paying for another line for my watch like that.

If all my current Apple Watch bands are going to fit Apple Watch 2 the they'll have my money come fall. But if not I'll put off buying it for a while.

I still don't see the point in smartwatches. No matter what features they have, you're always going to be able to do the same thing, and much better, on your smartphone.

That's ridiculous. It is positioning into the body of the watch, on the side, not this ugly rubbish.

This is a good step. With GPS it'll be a self-contained activity/fitness device. They just need to make it a standalone communication device as well by adding a cell connection and then I'll be ready to upgrade.

Wonder if it will be thinner? Will the mechanical specs for the band be the same?

I personally appreciate the overall thickness on the Watch paired with my 42 MM stainless steel. If It's thinner, so be it.

If your referring to the compability of the first Gen bands with the second Gen Watch, there is no doubt in my mind the Apple Watch 2 will be completely compatible. I have a lot invested in my bands and this would be disappointing if they were not compatible. But again, I'm not concerned in the slightest.

Vision? Try fantasy... You say for when you don't have your phone with you but the watch literally requires the phone for like 75% of its functions. Do you have an apple watch? Do you ever wear it without having your phone?
Okay, when Apple eventually does it in a neat way, you can come back here and thank me for my forward thinking approach to the future design instead of put up the walls and criticising me.

Just look at the diameter of the camera on the iPhone whilst holding it next to the watch.. It would have to be thicker to accommodate it in the body of the watch, especially since the band is attached there as well cutting back even more on available room!
