I've only had the Apple Watch 2 and about 8 months ago gave that to my wife. Since then I've been watch-less, patiently waiting for the next iteration to grab at launch. This happens to be the one I'll be getting next. It's been really hard holding off just getting the 4 with some of the sales that have passed but here we are.

Yes I can confirm that the Apple Watch is salt-waterproof.

That’s not accurate, but I get what you’re saying, however it’s not waterproof, it’s 50 m water resistant. Also, Apple has pretty straight-forward recommendations to rinse the watch off when you’re through using it in salt water. Salt water in general is fairly corrosive, so you want to make sure you rinse it off in the ocean.

Haha, I have a similar approach. I always tell myself that when I was able to skip the purchase of new AW4 for such a long time, I can wait even longer. :D

I had the white Ceramic Series 3 and the Hermes Series 3 at the same time. It didn't feel different to me comparing the SS and Ceramic. I did it simply because I liked the way to Ceramic looked.
I can’t really comment if it felt more comfortable than the aluminium as I always had stainless steel before the ceramic but it was certainly a very comfortable watch to wear and just looks so classy and different from all the other Apple Watch is that people wearing. I know it’s a hefty price but what you do is pay for exclusivity
I thought that it would be really difficult to tell the difference but you are right, you pay more for the exclusivity, not the feel to the touch.

I was prepared to wait and see what the Series 5 will offer. This will be my first Apple watch, so figured what is a few more days to wait. Then...... I see Best Buy's Labor Day sale and am questioning my strategy. The SS 40 mm GPS + cellular is $449, that is a savings of $250 ! I would be happy with the aluminum model, but prefer SS. Could probably get the Series 5 aluminum for same or nearly same price as the on sale SS at Best Buy. Decisions, decisions.......help...... lol
I don't know what Apple's markdown on previous series has been in past.

The biggest difference is the sapphire screen. The IonX glass will scratch. I’ve had two and they both have. I prefer the aluminum look personally as I’m more active than dressy. I would love to have the sapphire option on aluminum.

You will be in the 30 day return policy if you bought the series 4 SS right now.
If you really want to jump on that deal from bb then do it without hesitation. Once we hear the announcement from Apple regarding the series 5, you will have time to decide if the series 5 is worth the upgrade or if the SS is worth to keep.
I know some people never regretted their decision on purchasing an SS series 3 (on 40-50% discount) before the series 4 was announce, it was their first Apple Watch as well and they never thought of getting the s4 because they wanted the SS model instead of newer version in aluminum.

This weekend while wakeboarding I lost my SS S4 Apple Watch. I’m bummed and feel naked without it. Trying to decide if it’s worth waiting a bit before replacing it.

i use the autosleep app and it works like a charm and barely hits my battery from what i can tell. i do swap out s0 and s2 once in a while but s2 lasts almost 2 days.
Well you should rejoice, when you reach half of the second day, you almost know what time it is :D

sorry for your loss. i feel you should wait because there is a goodchance for a series 5 PLUS if u arent happy with it series 4 will drop in price

As I mentioned, I lost my SS S4 boating about 2 weeks ago - the last 2 weeks without it have been rough! After the event, I promptly ordered a refurbished SS S4 just like my old one for $589. I didn’t see the S5 being worth $160 more.
