do you guys think they are axing the satinless steel? i wouldnt be surprised

I’m not sure about that. Because the aluminum is the entry level model, The ceramic would be the high-end model if released, The Apple Watch stainless might be supplemented by adding titanium. But ultimately deleting the stainless altogether? I don’t think so, 316L stainless is a traditional material for watches in general. Plus, what would Apple charge for the titanium? If it’s too high of a price point, that would leave the stainless as a cheaper option under the titanium.

yeah i just feel the apple watch line up might get a bit messy esp since there is going to be two premium materials

also brings in to question about hermes. what casing are the hermes going to use since stainless will no longer be the premium casing. would they go with titanium?

I hope there is still an Hermes version. If not I’ll do the Ceramic since I anticipate that being nicer than the titanium.

Hi :) I am going to buy my Apple Watch in the LTE Aluminum version to perform sport and monitor activity. Is there a good time to buy the Series 4 or wait for the premiere of the new model, which is in three months?

I am definitely waiting, nice as the series 4 is, and even though I don’t think the next version will be a huge update I do think we will see another improvement in cpu performance and for the sake of a couple weeks wait it would be daft to buy one now IMO.

I might opt for the white ceramic this year. The price point isn’t very attractive, but it seems that it offers a really durable material, but yet looks classy in its own way.

Still hoping they make some bands for the ceramic other than the rubber sports band. And hoping ceramic is white. I hated the grey version.

That’s a good call as my S3 was white ceramic and that was my favourite to date. It just looks so good and went with virtually any band

True, white color match almost every other color =). I never had a ceramic case so I wanted to ask if you can feel the difference between ceramic/aluminum? Is it more comfortable? Or there is almost no difference?

I had the white Ceramic Series 3 and the Hermes Series 3 at the same time. It didn't feel different to me comparing the SS and Ceramic. I did it simply because I liked the way to Ceramic looked.

As someone as alluded, the ceramic has a totally different look, however ‘comfortability wise’, they’re really all the same, I mean there’s a weight difference between the ceramic and aluminum, but the finish will be smooth on both casings. For those choosing ceramic, they know the durability behind ceramic, and basically it doesn’t scratch and the Series 3 ceramic is slightly lighter than the stainless Apple Watch 44mm.

Not worried about the AW5. Just picked up a a Silver SS AW4 (44mm) recently at a pretty good price and it is a very big jump in performance compared to my previous Space Black SS AW2 (42mm). Very happy with the upgrade so far.

Nice! I had a similar situation.. upgraded from AW2 Silver Stainless steel. Upgraded earlier in the year, I wanted the AW4 as soon as it was released... but waited until I could find a decent discount for the SS models.

I sold my AW2 in advance to a family member before making the move. But the AW4 is a worthy upgrade regardless of how long you are into the upgrade cycle.

Yeah, I thought about waiting, but the AW4 was already a big jump compared to the AW2 and I found a nice deal on the SS one I bought. The AC+ on my AW2 had also recently expired so it was nice to have a warranty again.

I can’t really comment if it felt more comfortable than the aluminium as I always had stainless steel before the ceramic but it was certainly a very comfortable watch to wear and just looks so classy and different from all the other Apple Watch is that people wearing. I know it’s a hefty price but what you do is pay for exclusivity

I wish the new watch would just hurry up but there seems to be very little info on it this time around. Maybe it really is a little bump, fingers crossed it has a surprise or two.

If there is a series 5 (and that’s a big if) it’s gonna be a really small bump. Faster processor which won’t be noticeable because the S4 was blazing and that’s about it.

If I were Apple i’d keep the S4, add titanium and Ceramic at a premium and then release the S5 next year when there are significant improvements.

Not sure how you derived to this conclusion, and the reason I say that, is because the Apple Watch traditionally has been the one product that really doesn’t have that many leaks. It surprised others with new features that launched from previous models launched in the past, similar to what we don’t know what the Series 5 has in store, being that there hasn’t been any real significant leaks, because they only have one main supplier (Quanta Computer). Case in point, I wouldn’t dismiss the Apple Watch Series 5 altogether then ‘‘It’ll just be a bump’, when it could offer significantly more other than just a processor upgrade.

I honestly believe that Apple provides controlled leaks to someone like Mark Gurman for example (to properly set expectations) for these type of events. Either way I’m going to get the new case but doesn’t seem like there is a lot they can do.

1. major redesign last year
2. no significant screen technology ready this year
3. same with battery
4. maybe faster but it’s a watch and handles everything I throw at it with ease
5. health sensors could be the big one?

I guess we’ll find out in a week or so.

A sleep tracking function or a faster processor that can be lower power for most functions could give a genuine 2+ days of life.

Being able to go on an overnight trip without worrying about the watch going dead would be a great bonus.

Do you really think Apple can design a watch to be worn while sleeping and still have battery power to last all day? That’s a massive jump from the previous year and I don’t see how they could get that done at this point.
[doublepost=1567359104][/doublepost]The apple watch is bloatwear. It's a status symbol. Get a fitbit, either Versa 2 or Charge 3 models and you can get notifications, monitor fitness and tell time. They both have battery to last 5 days in the Versa2 case, or 7 days with a Charge 3. They both are cheaper and waterproof. I don't see a reason to buy a Apple watch 4. I doubt they can design one a version 5 that has a reasonable battery life. It's absurd to spend 1.5-2 hours to charge a watch that lasts for 18 hours. I have stuff to do, not waste with charging appliances. Too much time and maintenance for such a simple set of functions.

Lol, dude give me a break. You literally have to take the watch off before you go to bed. Oh the agony. I've never slept with a watch on in my life and wouldn't if the watch battery lasted a week.

And if you think the Apple Watch is bloat ware you don't know how to properly use one.

The Apple Watch 4 is totally waterproof. And Fitbit is a Fitbit. It just looks crap, trying to look like an Apple Watch but everyone knows its cheap and not an Apple Watch.

Yes I can confirm that the Apple Watch is salt-waterproof. I live in Hawaii and we have the most saltiest warm water around and I have used my series 4 for the last couple months in it and my watch is still going strong.
As for charging, it’s not a hassle of charging battery when your taking a shower or right before you go to bed.
