Just updated my Series 2 with the GM and I really appreciate the Apple Music integration over Siri.
Albeit it plays from your phone, but it is a workaround, specially after the total backwards step that was the inability to control music on your phone from the watch.

Any word of the new "Explorer" watch face being included in the GM for the rest of us, and not just the Series 3?

I'm glad they made another analog face, but will be bummed if have it be exclusive to the Series 3.

Also in the watchOS 4 GM, you can now sign up for irregular heart rate notifications when resting and this can be turned on in Apple Watch app -> Notifications. It's off by default. The heart rate app in iOS 11 GM has also gained a new resting heart rate metric.

Yup! This was announced today for heart beat monitor that it can detect irregular heart rhythm

Since last two betas I no longer get stand reminders and do not see why. The setting is active in the Activity app.

I have the same issue. I haven’t received stand reminders for the last couple betas. Both iPhone and Apple Watch are now on the iOS 11 GM and still no stand reminders. In addition, when I open the Activity App on my watch, the bar on the Stand graph used to slowly blink a dull blue if I had not completed my stand for that hour, but it no longer does that; it just shows no bar at all now...

Apple's press release states that the face is exclusive to the LTE models of Series 3 (so all previous models and the non-LTE Series 3 miss out, unfortunately). Looks like the LTE signal strength is part of the face itself and not a complication that can be changed/removed. I think it would have made a lot more sense to have it as a complication and offer the face to all models, but alas that's how it is.

Speaking of things that Series 2 owners miss out on: while Series 3 models have FeliCa enabled globally now (not just in Japan), the existing Series 2 models (which all also have the same chip) don't seem to get that feature unlocked with the watchOS 4 update. That seems a bit silly to me, because the hardware is already there, but it remains only available/unlocked on Series 2 devices that were bought in Japan - ditto for the iPhone 7. I guess it's a legal issue with having to get the wireless certification redone for those earlier models.

This is not irregular heart beat notification they referred to. They are still working on that. This notification is for a high resting heart rate. Which is not necessarily considered “irregular”. An irregular heartbeat means it's out of its normal rhythm. It may feel like your heart skipped a beat, added a beat, is "fluttering”.

Ok I am not alone with this issue then. Unfortunately, I have not found a solution but one observation about the missing blinking blue bar. It has disappeared for me as well but if I e.g. switch region via the Watch app on the phone, it causes the watchOS to restart and then the blinking blue bar for Stand graph is back...for about three seconds. Then I guess the underlying stand monitoring process(?) crashes and blinking disappears and you get no stand notification.

Maybe a complete re-install could help? I will probably get a series 3 though.

I had the exact same problem on my S2 Apple Watch (updated today from watchOS 3 to watchOS 4 GM).

Here is what i did to solve the problem (at least for now it worked):

1. Turn off the "Remind me to stand"-option in the iOS 11 Watch-App
2. Wait a 60 seconds and turn on the "Remind me to stand"-option
3. Rebooted first the iPhone and then the Apple Watch

After this, booth the reminder and the blinking bar started working again.

Maybe this helps.

Me too have this problem but not solved with this solution :( do you think is a software problem? I haven’t any notification and no blinking of the stand in activity. I’ve filled a bug to Apple..

My S0 takes over a min to start up the activy watch app after a restart but the blinking was back.. for about 20 seconds now. Then back to the no stand reminder state again.

Anyone reported to Apple yet?

How is WatchOS 4 compare to watchOS 3 with the S0 ?

Thanks for the quick response. Are you using Sierra or HS?

Glad to hear! Are you using HS or Sierra?

Series 0 watch on High Sierra.

How is WatchOS 4 compare to watchOS 3 with the S0 ?

About the same performance wise compared to Series 3. I've seen the battery life improve slightly, and I like the new workout/activity/health features introduced. So overall, a nice improvement. No brainer upgrade.

New colours for watch typefaces in iOS 11/watchOS 4 GMs:
  • Flash (looks Bright Yellow/Green)
  • Blue Cobalt
  • Dark Teal (I think this is new)
  • Ultra Violet
  • Electric Pink
  • Rose Red
  • Soft White (I think this is new)
  • Dark Olive

I searched but couldn’t find an answer to my question:

I know the Series 3 with LTE will have a dail pad in the phone app so you can call people not in your contacts or recents, but wondering if the S0-S2 watches will get that feature in Watch OS 4 so we can make calls to anyone while connected to our phone or WiFi.
