Thanks to this thread I know more about the latest OS update than any of the lazy Mac news sites seem to tell me as they seem to be running stories along the lines of "new watchOS fixes bugs...." and that's the extent of their story.

I did the 2.2.1 update just because. I'm wondering if the 30-40 min time it took was worth it as I don't see anything new right off. You think Apple would try to stir some interest with some details about what they just updated, I'm assuming it's related to the iTunes and other updates yesterday.

I don't think this update was ever sold as having anything new. I can say that Glances are much snappier in their response after this update.

I can't seem to get my Maps app working properly?! Whenever I tap 'My Location', the circle just forever spins. The map of the UK shows up, with London showing but that's it - isn't it supposed to zoom into your actual location (the Astronomy watch face shows the green dot for my location just fine)??

Mine takes me down to street level and shows pretty much my exact location.

...and how long do you leave it before it takes you down to street level? I leave my circle spinning, and then the watch display goes off after 15 seconds. When I then wake it, it is still spinning, I wait another 15 seconds, and the display goes off again - so it never actually finds me!?! Maybe I need to leave it longer, or it could be down to poor signal coverage where I am I guess (I do see the Maps icon display on the bottom left of my lock screen of my iPhone 6, when I activate maps on my watch)?!

Within 15 seconds and before the display shuts off it's found me.

...mine never does this :(

Whats even more weird, is that I have another watch app - 'Around Me', and that manages to locate bars, restaurants, etc, around my location?!

I just turned my 4G connection off, from my iPhone, and it then gave me 3 dots of full 3G, and the Apple Watch was STILL unable to find me via the maps app. Oh dear - another call to Apple Support.....

...gonna try Google maps tonight, to see if that works on my watch.

Maps still works for me.

...the strange thing is this - If I ask Siri, on my watch, "...where am I?", it does indeed bring up the map with a pin for my location (ok, the pin is a few streets off, from my exact location, but its close enough) but if I then later, manually go to the maps app on the watch, and tap the blue location arrow, it just continually spins?!

Oh gracious. I have had my watch for about 6 months and LOVE it. I use it mainly as a fitness tracker and after this newest update my calories are crazy! Generally my workouts were around 300 and my active calories around 400. Today post update ... My workouts were registering double that and my daily calories which usually sit around 1600-1800 now says 2500 and I had a very normal day. Has anyone else noticed this from the update ?

And I need to add - post update is the first time in 6 months my battery didn't last the day. :( very dissapointed

One thing I've noticed about 2.2.1:

I wear my watch to bed. (On arising, it goes on the charger. Then by the time I've showered and had me tea, it's charged.) My bedtime ritual is to switch the face to a large-numeral one with red numbers, to be easy on the eyes should I check the time in the night. Then I turn on Do Not Disturb. Last, I call up Settings, go to General, and turn off wake-on-wrist-raise.

Used to be I'd need to navigate through the whole Settings/General/Wake Screen hierarchy. Since updating 2.2.1, I don't need to: the Wake Screen panel is ready for me as soon as I enter Settings.

It's a small thing but saves me an entire 8.2 seconds at bedtime, and that makes me smile.

I would suggest at a minimum restarting your Watch

I do something similar, except I switch to the Modular face during bedtime, with Sleep++, alarm, and weather complications on the watch face for easy at a glance view and access to most used functions. I've set Do Not Disturb to turn on automatically with my phone, the watch copies the DND setting of the phone, which is really convenient. So on bedtime, I just have to turn on Sleep++, then wake up with the alarm, turn off Sleep++, drop the watch on the charger.

I really don't even have to worry about turning off the wrist wake up setting or anything. I go to sleep with about 40-45% remaining, wake up with around 30-35% remaining, then just takes about an hour to recharge to 90-100%.

Ah, I wasn't clear. Turning off the wake-on-wrist-raise feature isn't out of battery concerns, as my battery life is very much like yours. Instead it's to prevent complaints from my wife, who objects to having my watch light up when I roll over or something.

For the dark, say in bed or at the movies, I switch to a Modular face in red with only the time plus weather in the lower left and alarm in the lower right. The tiny white lettering of the alarm complication is the brightest part, but it's still not very bright overall.

I wanted to use the Color face in red, too, but it retains the all-white hands, and they're pretty bright.

In ref to post 1068 above, I am picking it up pretty quickly. I love this thing!!
I have been on a weight loss quest since January and have lost 52lbs so far. My tracking app on the iPhone drops its data almost every other work out, but this watch is doing a great job of keeping up and reporting with me doing nothing after the initial setup.
In the past, a watch was too much trouble to wear, but now my Apple watch is a part of me. First thing I do in the morning is strap it on (I just bought a Milanese Loop) and I just leave my phone plugged in on my nightstand. I don't need it :)

Wow congrats man! 52lbs is a big deal. I'm sure the Watch will help you keep active. I find it great to compare with friends/family to see how many steps/calories you've lost, and you can get competitive. It gives a lot of motivation to keep going and to go for that extra mile the next week.

I'm the same as you. If I forget to pick up my watch from the charger in the morning on the way to work, I'll drive back and pick it up. I shudder at the thought of losing so much activity for that day :O

Watch OS 3 beta is out today! Feel free to explore and post hidden things you've found, and I'll collect them all and post it in the first post.
I love this post/thread, but could you consider starting a completely new one for WatchOS 3?
