Well I'm going to answer everything here but as long as I think this explanation is completely off the topic I'll hide it under a spoiler tag.

Cool thanks for the explanation.
Yes I understand the concerns of connecting to an unsecured wifi network found out in the public domain.
Very risky I will agree!!

This particular network I'm talking about (the only one this 'glitch' works with is a well known, managed wifi network setup by Sky and is available all over London and other high population areas.
I think there is very little risk with connecting to this, free to use, public network.

There are other, free to use networks around London but I don't trust them either!

3rd party apps still don't work/take forever to load. Apple really needs to do something better with the apps functioning.

Do the 3rd party app developers need to update their apps to work with os3? I think they probably do and I am waiting for some to update. When I added a couple to the dock I got bad battery performance.

I'm loving watchOS 3, but iOS 10 on my iPhone 6s is draining my battery like no tomorrow, so I'm planning on going back to iOS 9.3.5. Will watchOS 3 work with iOS 9.3.5?

Nope, or at least I really don't think it'll work.

Have you done a restart of the phone?

If a restart doesn't work, try a re-pair. I'm getting a similar battery life to what I experienced with watchOS 2.
He's talking about he battery life on the iPhone not the Watch. I don't have a Watch and it also feels like iOS 10 sucks my 6s battery more than iOS 9.3.5 used to.

Just to underscore what BarracksSi said. No, you can't downgrade your iPhone to 9.3.5 - not unless you no longer want to use your watch. WatchOS 3 is not compatible with iOS 9.x.

Yup, me too. Battery drains faster for sure.
6s here as well. Been off of the charger since 6:00am (now 3:11pm) and battery is still at 97% (on the iPhone).

Those that are having battery drain issues with their iPhones - which series of AW do you have? (0, 1 or 2 - should try to correlate if there's a trend here).

Also, I think it would be helpful to know what kinds of apps you have in your Dock (Apple issued apps, 3rd party apps that have been optimized for WatchOS 3 and other apps). Also, check to see if you have any apps set to Background Update. I toggled a bunch of those off and has made a real difference for me. I've been off a charger for 11 hours and 24 minutes and still have 68% remaining. That was not the case when I had unupdated 3rd party apps in the Dock or things like World Clock updating in the background.

Where do I go for Background App update? So only leave it on for apps that I want up to the second information, correct?

Well, if you REALLY want to figure out which app(s) are misbehaving, then you could turn them all off and enable one per day until you find out which one(s) are burning through cpu cycles, eating your battery.
(hmm. Shouldn't we have an app for that?) :)

On phone, open Watch app: General>Background App Refresh.

I think my AW2 battery is find, it's the iPhone battery. So turning off "Watch app: General>Background App Refresh" will help iPhone battery a bit?

It may help, yes, since the phone is actually doing the updating in most cases.

Thanks guys. Guess there's no way of reverting the Apple Watch back to watchOS 2. Yes my phone is draining fast, but so is my watch :(

iOS 10 seems to be killing my iPhone'a battery :( I did a restore and set it up as a new phone. Still no luck. Sigh.

I shut off a bunch of apps. Let's see if this helps.

Was this option available prior to watchOS 3?
I don't recall seeing it. Nor do I remember this feature being discussed in keynote. I thought the only apps that would be refreshed in the background were apps in the Dock, too.

Chances are you have apps that are misbehaving (possibly they haven't been updated for iOS 10 yet). Might be good to turn off Background App Refresh for your apps on your iPhone and slowly enable them until you find the culprit(s).

And, no, unfortunately Apple hasn't given us a mechanism to downgrade the watch.

Something may changed using Siri dictation to reply messages or mails.
I updated to os3 my apple watch and on my iPhone I use 2 keyboards, Italian and English.
At the time of os2 if I've got a message to reply with dictation I can easily use the proper language according to the first words in the message text.
Now with os3 Siri selects the language according to last keyboard used on my iPhone.
Anybody noticed that?
Anyway to get back to previous behavior?

It's funny.. I have been using the wOS3 betas since beta 2 and all the ios 10 betas and havent' really had any problems with either watch or phone battery.. but now with an actual new AW2 and GR wOS3 and ios 10 I find the iphone battery is draining pretty quickly - at least faster than usual or recently. I check in the battery settings and it doesn't really show what is draining it fast and I have the apple watch app shut down - meaning not running in the background and I have most stuff on the watch for background refresh turned of. Maybe it is some rogue app that hasn't been updated yet for WOS3, but we'll see.

I've noticed that now if you turn Workout's "Power Saving" mode while in a workout, it has immediate affect. In watchOS 2 and before you would have to stop and start a new workout.
