Unless the photo isn't showing up correctly for me, the second photo doesn't show theatre mode activated. There should be an orange mask icon at the very top

Yep like this

Ugh this seems like it's going to be a painful beta. 3.2. REALLY slow to boot up and seems laggy in ui motion

Boot up time has been roughly the same for me -- not really any change there.

For UI animations though, I see a dramatic improvement on 3.2 and I'm on Series 0. Now, I give you that it's still laggy in a few places like from honeycomb to watch face animation, but opening complications, scrolling through lists, navigating between pages, are all quicker and smoother for me.

Me too. Such a sweeping statement "tivoboy" made...I know it's not based on actual usage because it most definitely is faster and smoother. I've been using my watch since 6am this morning and the battery life seems the same as 3.1.3. Dismissing notifications is smoother and faster. Scrolling faster. Pressing UI elements is faster too. I don't see what they are talking about- unless it's a bluff for bluffing sake.

Just tested this out. When both DnD and Theatre Mode are activated and you wake the screen, the DnD moon icon appears for a brief moment before fading out and being replaced by the theatre mask icon.

what about if you have a notification? iirc right now, DND appears for a brief moment and then up comes the red circle. would the same happen with theatre mode enabled, or will it cycle through the moon, the mask and then the red dot?

I wouldn't dismiss what he said, but I suspect a restart or, if necessary, a re-pairing will fix the issue.

Just a quick question about theatre mode - does rotating the digital crown still manually bring up the screen with controllable brightness in theatre mode, or do you have to physically press the screen or a button and get full brightness?
Yes, turning the crown still turns on the screen when theater mode is on :)

Okay so I'll knock out some questions about the new 3.2 beta on 42mm Apple Watch series 2 :

1. Yes both do not disturb and theater mode can be activated
2. Used both features for sleep tracking and worked flawlessly
3. Battery life is excellent, fell asleep with a 100% at 1145pm with do not disturb and theater mode activated, and woke up at 745am with 97% for battery life.
4. Speed increases for opening fresh apps.
5. Smoother transitions when clicking the complications (that I noticed)
6. Any other questions just asked but overall for beta 1 I can recommend updating for sure if you are on the fence or still feeling the burn from updating to Watchos 2 beta lmao (you guys know what I mean.)

I hadn't remembered seeing anything mentioned so I just searched the release notes. No mention of watchOS converting to APFS yet, right? Just wondering if anyone has seen anything about this anywhere else. Curious as to why they wouldn't be doing the conversion for watchOS yet but they would be doing it for iOS. I suppose it could just be as simple as it not being 100% ready yet.

Beta 3.2 seems quicker/ snappier yes, also I've noticed the Haptatics are much more pronounced/stronger and the display seems brighter. This honestly doesn't act like beta software on my watch.

Yep. If things go catastrophically wrong with it on iOS, testers can at least do a firmware restore via DFU mode. It therefore makes sense for Apple to test everything there first before enabling it on the watch, where a major failure would result in testers having to send their watches in to Apple.

Well, a restore from backup made things a LITTLE better.. really not sure why this beta would produce noticeable (and for the odd doubters out there it is noticeable) lag and UI glithiness.

Also, I have the stocks app on the mail screen, it should be displaying a single stock and current price (from the stocks app on the phone of course) and it won't display anything since the new 3.2b1 update. Odd.
