At ~7:15 pm Pacific time today, the store reservations page had every state greyed out except Hawaii and Alaska.

I tried calling the local store closest to me (Valley Fair in San Jose/Santa Clara, CA) and unfortunately got connected to what seemed like a call center. Prior to speaking to him, the recording mentioned that the reps (or store employees?) cannot comment on Watch availability.

The person that answered confirmed he couldn't comment on it, saying it was reservation only, blah blah. I mentioned to him I'd seen on Macrumors forums that people have walked in (on prior days) w/o reservations and got theirs. He was dismissive, disagreed completely and basically said I was totally wrong and it's because it's on Macrumors. And, then he repeated the party line of reservations only, check back tomorrow morning, etc. Sigh...

I already have one but some I knew visitor from another country who wanted (leaving in a few days) one and I was thinking of offering to take her to the store to get one, before it closed. But, due to the above, it might've been a trip in futility, so I didn't bother.

Call the store and for your option, say "manager."

You'll get connected directly to the store that way.

call the store nearest to you and when it prompts you to say something say "manager" it will connect you to someone in that store

My 42mm Space Grey with black sports band should be here tomorrow. I ordered it late 6/24 and was given a July 9th delivery date. My local Apple Store was out of stock and I didn't want to wait on the store. Now, the date has been moved up and I will get it tomorrow (basically 4 days)! Can't wait!

I can't seem to find a 42 SS watch at all here in San Francisco. Every time I check for in-store reservations for any of the 42 SS models (white sports band, black, leather loop, milanese) they are NEVER in stock at all in any stores. On the other hand, seems like the 38's are readily available.

:(

Same here. Have not seen any 42mm stainless models in stock - always TONS of sports. I find it hard to believe the more expensive models are outselling the sport, so my guess is that stores aren't getting very many in.

Does anyone know if/when they restock stores? Been looking since they went on sale in-store and have never seem then available to reserve.

Why not just order through online Apple Store and have it sent to you? I've checked 42mm SS threads and shipping times are around 1 week (or less) now. Even when Apple quotes 1-2 weeks people have been getting them within a few days.

Seems like that would be less trouble and time saving compared to checking local stores everyday. Plus you can always cancel online order prior to shipping if your store finally receives stock.

I ended up just walking into my local store, they had quite a few 42mm in stock. So either the website isn't 100% accurate or they had just gotten them in and hadn't updated their stock yet. Either way, walked out with a Watch.

Congrats!! Glad they had them and wonder why the site didn't update. Glad you got one though, enjoy! :D

I had put a reservation on the space black aluminum 42mm to pick up today. When I tried to reserve for my friend. It showed it was available. We went to the Apple Store anyways and they had them in stock so luckily my friend got his as a walk in.

This morning I checked the reservations and saw that my local store had the model I wanted -- this afternoon, without making a reservation I walked into the store and was able to buy it. I suspect that they had limited stock on this one -- 38mm SS Space Black with SS Black link bracelet -- so I was really happy to be able to get it today.

their inventory site is messed up or lags real-time by a lot. Two days ago all stores in Oregon and Washington showed 42mm gray sports. Now every store in both states shows out. I was planning to pick one up today in Portland to avoid wa sales tax.

***walked in to downtown pdx store and they had plenty of watches. an asian family was buying like 10 watches and a pile of iPhones next to me. anyway, got my 42mm SG. now to sell my 38 SG.

Ordered last Friday and got my 42mm Sport on Tuesday. Lead times on the website are definitely off.

Their inventory availability/reservation website is frustrating. The nearest Apple Store is almost 2 hours away. One day they have stock the next day they dont and now people on here are saying how it's inaccurate. It would be nice to know before I make a 2 hour drive since their automated phone machine says they're not able to give inventory information over the phone but rather refer to the site.

Dial the local phone number and then you can say "speak to manager" to speak with the store directly. The call center is useless if you're need store info, always scripted one line reply. Can't hurt to try- just be polite and don't get upset if they also won't tell you though. They don't want you screaming in the store after driving 2 hours and they sold out in that time frame. ;) (No products are held by phone)

I agree with what you said about the website availability not 100% matching actual inventory stock. Wonder why it can't just be linked "live" to the store. Or maybe it depends on local employees updating some system manually?

Our Jacksonville store had just about anything except the Edition and anything in SpaceBlack. They can mix and match bands to make you about any combo you want. I was in and out in 10 minutes on Saturday.

My wife walked in the  Store in Allentown PA on July 6th and walked out with a  watch, no reservation made, because of inet connection problems.

I ordered a 42mm Grey Sport yesterday morning around 7am (EST). It's scheduled for delivery today and I didn't pay for overnight shipping. Well done Apple.

Yeah, I went back to swap bands last week and they had basically everything in stock. Looks like supply/demand has finally hit equilibrium.

Every watch I checked online is now available at a store near me. Most watches if ordered within the next 55 minutes can be delivered by Tuesday.

I walked into the Raleigh, NC Apple Store in Crabtree Valley Mall yesterday afternoon around 3pm, and I had purchased my Watch within 10 minutes.

Hi All, I want to ask something that is worrying me, my brother will travel on 08/15 to Miami, can he buy me an 42 SB AW? or he have to get a reservation first? I appreciate all your answers
