Apple Watch availability in US Stores

Waste of money but I'm sure Apple could care less. The bag that was handed to me ended up in the trash can outside the Apple Store.
You could have just said no thanks to the bag.

whitout a reservation??
You don't need reservations. I didn't, and they had plenty in stock for walk-in. Might be worth going in when the store opens, or at least morning, to ensure they should have the one you want.

Yes, everyday at 8am apple adds whatever stock they received overnight.
You can see if they have it in stock online. I got to the store at 10am when they opened and they still had around 100 more watches to sell for the day.

Today I walked into my local Apple Store in Raleigh, NC, right when the doors opened at 10:00 a.m. I did not make a scheduled appointment. I upgraded my Apple Watch from a 42 mm WSB to a 38 mm SSM. I was assisted right away by two Apple employees and the whole process took about twenty minutes. My Apple Watch bag has white had silver stringed handles. It couldn't have gone any easier plus I'm pleased with my newer watch because it's stainless steel and looks better on my wrist size wise.

With a lot of people saying their store had stock without reservations, think there is a separate walk in stock from the in store pick up option or are those finding watches in stock getting the 38 mm model? As according to the site, the 42 mm models are pretty much sold out where the 38 mm is widely available.

My local store in southern CA said it's the same stock for both reservations and walk in. Each day at 8am local time they update stock numbers for reservations, so I'd keep checking. Basically if they have no reservations and you walk in, they will sell you what they have (or if you miss your reservation time, they release it for other reservations or walk ins).

If you're having a hard time finding anything in your area, I'd just order and have it shipped. Most Watches ship within a week or two (sometimes faster than quoted), so it's not a horrible wait compared to what April/May orders went through.

Overall you're correct- 38mm are much easier to get than 42mm. Same for sport vs. stainless steel.

Thanks for the info.

Funny enough though, I checked the reservation page again at 4:30 PM and a 42 mm SS Apple Watch with the black sport band popped up at one of the local Apple Stores around me. Grabbed it and drove the 40 minutes and picked it up. :D

They only have the sport bands in stock, so I'll have to order the classic buckle online, but I am happy. :)

Wow... I just checked the EST zone for in-store reservations and I'm surprised at how many stores are OOS. Good thing I was able to get mine when I did. :)

They're usually low on stock on Mondays. No deliveries Sunday night. Stock will likely pick up tomorrow.

Anyone know how the stock is at the KC area stores?
You can check avalibility after you select the Watch you're looking for (without going through the entire check out process): http://store.apple.com/us/watch

There's a link that says "Interested in buying in-store? Check reservations availability" just above/next to the 'Add to Cart' green button.

Also, I would keep checking throughout the day since it seems to update more than only at 8am as suggested on Apple's site. However if nothing is available anywhere in your state for a couple days- it's probably faster to just order online and ship directly.

I know that I can do that for each of the watches, but I wasn't mean more towards some of the posts regarding the stores having an inventory for reservations and one for walk in.

I just got two SS Apple Watches at the Arden Fair store in Sacramento (one is a gift). I just checked the box again and realized they gave me a white bander instead of a black for one of them; returning it tomorrow, so if that's the configuration you're looking for, there'll be one more tomorrow afternoon haha!

it was easy, i visit the Lakeside Store in New Orleans. Walk in and 10' later walk out with a SS white bent. Now i can go back to switzerland ;-)

I am in Las Vegas and Saturday night walked into the Town Square Store and after a great presentation that altogether took about 35 minutes I walked out with my 38 white sports watch. Loved that I waited and did not play the Apple wait to be shipped game.

I thought this was a really nice touch, too! The bag for my Apple Watch w/ Pink Sport Band had pink rope handles. Gotta love those little extra things Apple does.

Here is a pic of my watch and the bag. Green rope handles for a green sport band!

Reserved my 42mm Sport w/ green band yesterday morning and picked up yesterday afternoon. Also added a medium Brown Leather Loop (was not on display, but had them in the back). Very satisfied!

The Southlake, TX store had a lot on Thursday and Friday. My husband bought his 42mm Space Gray with no issues and they had other models in stock too.

I was able to pick one up in Plano (Willowbend Mall) last Wednesday night. The website wouldn't let me reserve it so I took a chance and walked in. I was also able to get the 42mm Space Gray. There were four people in front of me who got the same model.

Congrats! I reserved my 42mm Space Gray, but same as you mentioned- at least 4 or 5 people were buying it who walked in after me. Every table I saw had an Apple Watch bag with setup going on, or purchase process (South Coast Plaza Apple Store in southern CA).

Employees said each day it's pretty steady sales with non-stop walk ins and online reservations.

The only people who I saw buying watches when I was there were getting the same model. It made me nervous :)

Reserved my 42mm Space Gray Sport yesterday @ 3:30 PM, Lehigh Valley Apple store, picked it up @ 3:45, and spent about 20 minutes with the sales staff to go over setting up the watch, they guy was very helpful. Got the Apple bag, but it had a pink string, guess I'll have to live with that bag.

My black space gray w/black sport band had a green string bag, so they might just grab random colors if they don't have black. Not that it's a big deal- but I wondered the same thing. :)
