No, they suck. The material doesn't last putting an expensive watch at-risk, and gathers dust.

I've been using my third party milanese band since October, it is still perfectly working and doesn't show any scratches or signs of age.
The original one is better? Sure it is, but costs 10 time more. Even if I needed to change my band twice a year it would take 5 years to break even. In a month I'll switch to my knockoff nike band for the summer, not great but good enough and I paid 20% the original cost. I could buy 5 bands with 5 different colours for the same price and never get bored about my bands.

The only original accessory I buy from Apple is the silicon case for my iPhone. It is great and like you said it is protecting a very expensive appliance. My iPhone costs more than 3 times a Watch and it is more likely to fall on the floor so it needs a good protection. I'd buy original Apple bands only if I owned an edition watch, the sport one isn't that expensive and I'm not afraid about breaking one of my bands while wearing it.

This happens every season. The violet and pink fuschia bands last Fall season were extremely popular and remained rare and out of stock.

The people who get triggered don't even buy extra bands, and just say "expensive!" because they don't have the money to have a collection. Savage, but that is the truth.

I agree. Apple bands, sure, they are pricey but they are very high quality and last a long time. My SS pin sports band looked the same as when I purchased it. When it was dirty, a quick wash with any soap and it's back to normal. A 3rd party band normally loses it colour when you wash it or the pin falls out.

Really wish these went on sale sometime. The sport band that ships with the watch is miserable, and I'd love a sport loop for exercising and a standard nylon band for daily use but $100 for a pair is tough to swallow.

They do. Not through Apple, but Best Buy has some on sale right now.

Unfortunately the only ones I see on "clearance" at the moment are some knock-off sport bands and some link bands, neither of which I'm interested in.

Thanks for the heads up though.

Do people actually collect these things? Like, "Gee, wiz! I wish I had bought that version of the yellow sport band before it went to complete my yellow collection of watch bands!"...

Nothing but white looks good with my ceramic watch.
I recently got the white ceramic and tried it with all my bands and I feel the same .. only the white looks really good. I think black might work but was disappointed that my double tour Hermès Barenia band doesn't look good. I think some of the woven bands with white accents might work. I'm still experimenting ....

As I sit here, trying to render of complex 3D scene, calculating how many hours and days it will take on out of date hardware, I am glad to know Apple is concentrating on this.

Apple as usual has its priorities straight.

Sorry you're the old Apple power user (design, dev, creatives)... the new Apple power user is a Kardashian or Instagramming fashionista

If I were Apple's CEO I would make it mandatory to unlock the new Mac Pro and a future Mac Mini with an Apple Watch. Just out of spite.
Maybe the gimping of their hardware is out of spite?

Darn... that sale must have just been last week. Maybe left over from Mother's Day. Keep checking periodically, because once they mark theirs down to get rid of them, they will go fast. They're the only place besides B&H Photo Video that tends to have a lot of Apple watch bands and slashes them to low prices to move them when they're ready to get new stock.

I'd try some of the nylon loops or the leather loops. They might work.

Gotta admit.... I bought an Apple Watch expecting to never buy additional bands. Yet now I usually buy 2 to 4 a year. I kinda like how before Apple Watch one would ask themselves which watch should I wear today/tonight, but now it’s about which band you want, and how drastic those bands change the look.

Could never go back to any old fashioned watch now. It’s Apple Watch from here on out! Unless google gear surpass them.... which I doubt because how awesome the Apple Watch is with Apple Music!!! Being able to access my literal entire music library from my cellular watch gen 3 is simply the nicest tech surprise I’ve had in years

Why yes I love thdo we bands. I bought rainbow bands for my friends and family last Xmas and they’re all still wearing them! Gotta admit it’s one of my faves along with fake leather magnetic loops from eBay! Better than the real ones (of which I have one)

I don't like any of the fake leather loops. They all make a weird nose (kind of a crackle) that the real ones don't make. I have all of the real ones, except for the gray. I think I went a bit overboard when I first got my watch, though. :D
