Nice to see Apple doing this in preparation for release.

Note to Tim: Please don't let the same guys handling software Quality Assurance for the iOS 8.0.x release testing handle Apple Watch release testing...

what exactly is "white-people music"?..and if I say "black-people music" will someone get offend?

Pink Floyd. Maurice Ravel. Mussorgsky. Debussy... not a huge multi-racial following among the classical impressionists it seems. Not that it's expressly prohibited in any way, but, along mainstream cultural lines, it's pretty well neglected &/or rejected as being "white people music". ...sadly, so is Jazz these days, when it's anything but.

Sure, but it's to be expected.

Apple could better move into the high-end market simply by quadrupling the price tag for no reason other than to make rich people feel good about needlessly spending a ton of money.

I think they might have quadrupled the price tag with the gold versions. That might satisfy the so called "rich people"

Quadrupled, and then quadrupled again, I think.

Nice. They need as much support from the fashion industry as they can get if the Apple Watch is to make a splash. (They certainly won't get it from the technology industry press). Interesting that they are showing off the standard Apple Watch and not the Edition. Maybe they want to reserve that one for Le Bon Marché.

On a side note, it's interesting how they largely blew off Fashion Week in NYC (which was going on at the same time they unveiled the Watch), but sent a whole crew over to Paris.

I'm curious, too. But sometimes I wonder how a watch with a starting price tag of $350 will fit in with ridiculously overpriced high-end watches. As silly as it sounds, Apple could better move into the high-end market simply by quadrupling the price tag for no reason other than to make rich people feel good about needlessly spending a ton of money.

Gruber thinks the Edition could go for $5,000, or even more.

I heard $1,200 but no one really knows for sure (especially since it could be either solid gold or gold-plated). At $5,000 it would be a hard sell even to filthy-rich people. A $50,000 Rolex can at least be justified because there's nothing else like it. You can't make a gold Timex and charge $50,000 for it without doing anything else. That's the deal with the Edition line—it's the same watch with different material (which isn't even that rare) and a nice case. If Apple added some functionality or something else truly unique to the Edition line then maybe they could sell it for $5K.

I'll get off at this exit. High fashion? I simply want a good computer. Apple feels like they are getting really ridiculous. I guess they have so much money they can just do stuff like this.

I hope they announce what white-people music that will come bundled with the watch. Fingers crossed for Nickelback.

What sort of company doesn't notice software bugs?

A jewelry company.

Well since they just acquired beats, I would assume they'd be playing black music. Unless they wasted billions of dollars just to take a couple photos with Dr.Dre (MD)

The funny thing is, to people who REALLY know watches, Rolex is akin to Bose to people in the high end home audio world. In other words, a quality product, but overpriced for what it is strictly because of name recognition.

Wow... I am blown away by the presentation more than the watch!

And no, anything that's a circle doesn't make it a derivative of Mickey Mouse.

Do you have any theories for why it seems that genres like industrial, prog rock, (all-sorts-of-)metal etc. seem to have more white listeners while hip hop, rap and others appear to attract black people?

I can't wait to see everyone on this forum **** a kitten when they announce the price, right before Apple sells a million of them on the first day. LOL. But, but, but, Android Wear could do that two years ago for $49!
