Apple is really advertising the heck out of this thing. I don't think they've ever marketed a product this heavily before. It's going to make people want one just because even without knowing exactly what it can do.

The iPods in the early 2000s were marketed MUCH more heavily.

It will be interesting to see how the digital crown will work if they make the watch thinner. Seems like it will get awkward if it gets too close to your skin and if it gets too small. I think the digital crown may be an issue in future generations

Wouldn't the crown just get smaller as the frame gets smaller? There's all sorts of different size crowns on different watches. Some small, some larger etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if in future generations they offer different customization options on the crown itself.

Apple should ask Valve for advice. Boy do they know a thing or two about hats.

Do traditionl watches get thinner? Every time I see someone wearing a higher end watch it looks big and chunky. I don't think the Watch can be compared to iPhones and iPads. I'm sure the Watch design will evolve over time but battery life and sensors will determine thickness.

This is the new Huawei watch. Is Watch much thicker than that?

Whatever restrictions or approvals Apple required of East Touch clearly wasn't enough. All are bizarre, but the one with the guy yawning HAS to have Schiller and Ahrendts spinning. You never want to have the subject using your product yawning unless it's an ad for a PM cold medicine or sleep aid. Just awful. Quite the opposite of the Self Magazine cover.

Ooooooo, they must be in a real tizzy over that one! Sooooo significant, that.

Good to see some different options for the bands in a more realistic scenario.

Realistic scenario? All I see is the continuing trend of stylising Western models to appear Asian for Asian audiences. All seems rather undignified to me.

except on a normal watch the crown only sets the time and generally you take the watch off to do that and its barely ever required

The watch really looks good on "real photos" like these It looks like a nice fusion of a very classic (square watch) and modern technology. Really classy- i like it.

I was never a watch guy anyway, so Im not convinced that the apple watch will even appeal to me. It'd have to do some amazing things for me to be interested. But having to charge it every night just like my phone gives me pause regardless. I definitely won't be jumping on this right away if at all. I can't even see it being a huge hit for apple...but then again, I'm biased not being a watch guy. Maybe Apple will nail the whole fashion angle and people will buy this thing up like crazy. I just don't see it.

One thing I have to hand Apple, is that they've really created an infinite number of looks with all the bands and watch face combos you can do. This is really a first for Apple. To market such an individual look. Usually they don't do that with the look of a product. The individuality came with what you produced with their products. If anything, it's going to be interesting to see the general reaction to the Apple watch.

I think this is the 1st Apple product I'm mildly interested in.

I am interested to see how it does, but for me personally, I don't see much use for it. I don't wear a watch except for a few weeks out of the year and even then, I didn't wear 1 last year b/c my GPS and my iPhone both have clocks :)

However, I'm curious to see how the biometrics turn out. If I was to get a watch, it would purely be for exercising and monitoring related outputs.

Which is why I'm keeping an eye on the Fitbit Surge coming out.

I imagine it will be cheaper than the iWatch Sport edition and entirely geared towards biometrics.

As for receiving notifications, I don't want that in something I'm working out with. I know we can turn it off, but I don't see the point of receiving notification of something that may turn my attention or stop it outright.

I suppose I can see how others could, but in the exercising frame of mind, that doesn't make sense. You're either all in, or not :) imho lol

They need a ladies version of that. But the circular screen dictates the watch face has to be very large to be useful (and to cover the bezel). It's like a Nest thermostat on your wrist.

That looks really cheap to me. specially the bronze button on the right side of the moto 360 - looks like some kind of toy out of a bubble gum machine.

The moto 360 does not really look good in real life. its the opposite of the apple watch

I saw one in person. I had high hopes but was extremely disappointed.

The Moto 360 is HUGE. I would never wear something THAT big on my wrist.

46mm / 1.8 inches diameter.

My current (non-smartwatch) is 1.2 inches / 30mm.

Wow. That's a HUGE difference. It looks nice, being round, but round is not functional. Most FUNCTIONAL watches are square.

The more pictures of the watch I see, the more I am thinking it is not for me. I am left handed, but this watch seems to be only for the right handed people. I could not put on something that big on my left wrist and still be able to write comfortably. If I put it on my right wrist the crown will by on the wrong side and make using it difficult.

Me too. I was literally shocked. It just looks really rough as if they skipped the last steps in manufacturing (polishing, etc.) It almost looks handmade and not in a good way. It has a prototype appeal

It's definitely posed... like all of the shots here.

I can say that the photography is good here and I like the matching of the watches and the scenes. Good to see some different options for the bands in a more realistic scenario.

The hats I could leave, but the rest of it is good. Some of this shoot is going to be reflective of the local fashion there so it will feel a bit foreign to those of us that don't live there. Always keep in mind that fashion trends are not universal...

Hate to break the news to you but this fashion of wearing hats and leaving the front of your hair out is in the US. One of my co workers wear his hats like that, he's Indian and we live in NY.

I want to go in to work sometime wearing that guy's suit. I feel like I'd either get a promotion or get fired.

The gold Edition Watch is essential to complete the look.

That's what makes the difference between "got this suit at an expensive designer boutique" and "found this suit while clearing out Grandpa's wardrobe"
