I quite like it on these modeling shots, but I have to agree with the poster, who pointed out how it looks odd with a black display. When it comes to watches, the face is just so incredibly important for the overall look and this face is going to be off most of the time for battery conservation, leaving a black square strapped to the wrist, which in my opinion looks "meh"..., especially when I imagine fingerprints on top of it.
Once the screen is off, it just doesn't look like an fashion-accessory with electronic capabilities (ie a watch) anymore. Instead it has the feel of a tech gadget (same vibe as a tablet or smartphone) that happens to have a wristband and can be strapped to your body. It's certainly very functional, but is it stylish? Yeah, I don't know about that.

Oh well, still curious to see what it's going to end up looking in real life. :)

Several models have worn an :apple:Watch now (at least 4)... Why hasn't a single one been asked any questions about it?

I realize they probably have NDAs, but I figure you could still get some interesting info out of them. Maybe anonymize the source. Something like "Apple has five security personal around us the whole time." Or "The watch wasn't functional. It was just a dummy unit."

Have you watched Zoolander?

Oh man, I guess I'm either too nerdy, and fashion blind or I just don't get it but man I don't see anything that could be construed as fashion with what they're wearing.

Spot on. I'm not sure nerdy people can associate to "that" look!

It is here in the UK.

All the good looking guys and gals do it, in particular those with nice hair to stop the beenie falling off. I did it once, but I'm 51 and bald, so it's a facepalm moment! Ha ha. :p

How can wearing a hat like that be fashion??

Funny. I would only modify by changing Geeky category to Dork. To me Geeky is someone like an early adopter and gets great joy out of new gadgets... if it offers a cool feature/purpose and is respectable looking. Geeks, despite their "hobby," have social skills, self-respect, and can influence non-geeks. OTOH dorks have zero taste or social skills and can only influence other dorks.

Screech from Saved By The Bell is the dork poster child. Mark Cuban is a geek.
As for the dork/geek conundrum, I'd put dork parallel to geek, but items for dorks typically don't go mainstream. I think we're on the same page...

It will be interesting to see how the digital crown will work if they make the watch thinner. Seems like it will get awkward if it gets too close to your skin and if it gets too small. I think the digital crown may be an issue in future generations

im not sure how much thinner it will need to be -- have you seen fashionable mens watches today? theyre like hockey pucks.

Looking at that cover, I would have thought it was a tech magazine, not a fashion publication.

Apple is an electronic gadget company. Maybe in a few years a car company too. Macs are part of product lineup, but not the lineup anymore. Just a fact of life in 2015 that desktops are not relevant as they were 10-15 years ago.

Much of what you said actually corresponds to what I said, though at worst I am a bitter middle-aged man. I aspire to one day be a bitter old man, given the alternatives.

That said, I had little issue with Apple being an "electronic gadget" company. Though I usually think of gadgets as having narrower functionality than even an iPod Touch has.

It is the watches and cars business, and the emphasis on the fashion side of the watch, rather than its gadgetry aspect that makes me wonder if the company's new ventures will interefere with making great computers.

Note I did NOT say that Apple should not get involved in cars or highend jewelry. I DID say that perhaps they shouldn't be under one roof. FileMaker Pro has thrived as a product associated with Apple that ISN'T Apple.

Either spin off the desktop/mobile computer as a separate operation, or spin off the cars and couture. While desktops are not as relevant as they were 10-15 years ago, to a great many of us, they are as relevant as ever, and the market is large enough to get the attention for that audience alone.

i don't know... i find the watch interesting, but on nearly every picture i've seen real people wearing it, the watch seems to stick out like a sore thumb. i know, they want to draw the viewers attention on the watch, but on the flipside, that just makes it look even bigger than it already is. i'd much prefer a more subtle look.

Looking at these pictures, though one thing is undeniable - this is incredibly cool for teenagers, especially with higher income. I guess we will see a teen idol, someone like Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, 5 seconds of summer with Apple watch and teenagers will instantly connect with these images, which we find strange. Thats a teen fashion and I can understand it (not very much like but ok).

These guys will be extremely cool with Apple Watch (One direction, for those who don't know).

I find nothing cool about them. Just another boy band that within 5 years will be split up and useless.

For a moment, a little shudder went through me when I thought the model wearing the watch was Justin Bieber.

When I realized it was not, then I had a good laugh at the dork apparel that passes for fashion. (Many different demographics out there that intersect at the wrist it seems.)

I'm getting more and more curious about who's going to wear this and how they'll use it.

I currently have a watch that's all stainless steel and don't wear it because it's just too big and heavy. I work in the ER and on busy days sometimes it's hard to look at my phone and reply to messages or even read comments from replies to pictures on IG or Facebook. I can tell you that being able to do these things from just the flick of the wrist will be way easier than pulling my phone from my pocket. I do a mixture of typing on the computer, writing and walking in the ER. This watch will serve me well and my boss can't say get off my phone because it's busy anymore lol.

Well, thats you who find them not cool. Not so for thousand of their fans who worship them. Or Selena. Or Bieber. Anyway, my point is that the shots are using teen fashion now. First shots were using Asian models; then it now its teenagers. Give it some time, you will see soon heavyweights like Beckham, Orlando and others wearing them.
This reminds me of the crazy iPod advertising siluettes with a very cool fashion, also teenage oriented, which ultimately proved that Apple is VERY good in marketing :)

I am waiting for something similar with Apple watches. The result will be similarly devastating.

And the Apple Watch IS a new iPod. Doesn't call but have wifi. And storage for music!

I doubt they are actually wearing the watch

Well I'm happy for you that you feel the need to "worship" One Direction. I'm also not a 12 year old teenager so I don't give a flying fig about them. Oh what is this world coming to? :D

The more pictures of the watch I see, the more I am thinking it is not for me. I am left handed, but this watch seems to be only for the right handed people. I could not put on something that big on my left wrist and still be able to write comfortably. If I put it on my right wrist the crown will by on the wrong side and make using it difficult.

You can use it left or right-handed. The display will flip upside down and the crown will be on the correct (left) side for you :)

It is smaller than all the other watch in volume, and even by surface. It is the exact same average size as the current fashion in male watches. So, no it is not bigger. And, the the bigger watch, the small watch is noticeably smaller than the average male watch.

Yet, I no A LOT of people who dress just like those people. MAybe its the city you live in, the crowd your with. They're in their 20s and many are in University. I'm quite a bit older than those people....

I live in Montreal and we are generally more fashionable that most of the US.

Maybe someone has already replied to this. The Apple Watch screen can be rotated to allow left or right hand wearing.
