I thought you meant the Casio. The Apple watch isn't even waterproof, so gasoline is out of the question.![]()
Exactly my point

because unlike Apple Watch, andriod wear has been out for a while and people know how it will look. Just like a TV companies don't have to show the TV playing Titanic to sell.I took a good look at the gallery of photos supplied by LG. It's a nice looking watch; but isn't it supposed to be more than a watch? My problem is with LG only showing the classic timeface in their marketing materials. Why not show some images of the Android Wear OS? After all, isn't that the main reason for the wearable device?
Many of you may not like Apple's entry, but at least their marketing materials show the device as more than simply a watch.
in that extend, does that mean everyone who produces TV (and car now) are "following" Apple because there's some unconfirmed rumor that Apple is working on it? COme on fanboys, let's not go crazy hereWrong, everyone else is following Apple. WSJ announced THREE YEARS ago that Apple was working on a wearable and everyone tried to rush manufacturer their own.
just because you sell more doesn't make it better. there are more corollas sold than lambos.
because unlike Apple Watch, andriod wear has been out for a while and people know how it will look. Just like a TV companies don't have to show the TV playing Titanic to sell.
But Corollas are FAR more reliable and obviously a better "value."
So being high-priced doesn't necessarily mean better, either.
Depends on what people want.
Here's an Apple Kool-Aid test. Can you admit that this looks more attractive than the Apple Watch? No? You're an Apple Kool-Aid drinker!
Perhaps made in the same factory, but the factory isn't the important part. It's the fact that they are made in that factory to Apple's specs. We've heard often of Apple rejecting yields because they aren't living up to their standards. And once again, it's not just phones. It's also Macs running OS X.
How can it steal Apple sales if iOS can't run Android Wear watches. Do tell.
And soon that is what we will be seeing, people mindlessly walking around talking to their wrists. Think of the possibilities, at restaurants, at the movie theater, waiting rooms at doctors offices, on public transportation........
Sure you can talk about marketshare, units sold, profits, etc. At the end of the day - an individual shouldn't care about that,
Oh please. Apple's designs are good but not like they are out of this world. There are a lot of good designs out there. IOS and OSX are good but also full of bugs like all software. Again, nothing out of this world.
But marketing is light years ahead of any other company out there.
Of course it has bugs, like all software, but nothing else has ever offered a UX that was better or that people loved as much.
Android Wear devices keep getting better and better. Meanwhile Apple has yet to announce full specs....
This is marketing. You're supposed to love people, not inanimate objects. You're love for the product comes from marketing it as more than just a product. Brilliant!
You should know by now that Apple doesn't care about specs. Specs are often irrelevant in the overall quality of the device. See megapixels.
In other news, after hearing about the possibility of an Apple Car in the works, Android released its own Android Car today for mass consumption.
You sir are touched. Conveniently leaving out the Pebble watch? ffs. I swear fanboys ruin the internet.This.Watch rumors were flying for a while, so Samsung did their "ME FIRST!!!1111" That surely doesn't make Apple the follower. Doesn't necessarily make them the leader, either.
Argument aside, we'll let the sales numbers do the talking for success or failure.
I never get tired of pointing out Apple fanatics and critics alike with this old post. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/apples-new-thing-ipod.500/

Tell me which sounds right:Shame LG don't know the difference between flair and flare. Says it all, really...
RTP.
Because you're inside my head, as well as others....

Are you citing the Pebble as an example of an early smartwatch or for it's sales numbers? You sir are touched. Conveniently leaving out the Pebble watch? ffs. I swear fanboys ruin the internet.
Um...
You might be a tad out of touch, I think.
If I could buy more Apple products, I would. But I'm using my vintage (almost obsolete) Macs because I can't afford to replace them. I won't be getting the first Apple Watch because I can't afford one. I do have the latest and greatest iPhone, but I skipped several generations because I didn't have the money to buy the other ones.
Why would you say Apple doesn't care about specs? They go to the "trouble" of naming them and calling them out on their website. Taptic engine? Retina display? Those are every bit "specs" as the other guy.
These aren't specs. This is marketing. Retina and Taptic are trademarks that signify some unique feature that Apple has that others don't. Specs are quantifiable and easily compared.
It's funny that people fall for this. I remember having a conversation with a friend about the resolution of an iPad. I mentioned that another tablets had higher resolution and the response was the iPad was better because the other tablet wasn't Retina. That is the triumph of marketing.
