No, third from biggest, bit in the woven band it was the last hole and it felt very insecure, with hardly any spare to tuck in.

that just doesn't add up. do her wrists swell a lot in the heat? i tried a nylon band just now at the last hole (with barely any tuck) and it slides *much* further up my arm than a sports band on the 3rd to last hole. there's a visibly huge difference between the size of those two sizings (i had them on two different watches next to each other).

The last piece of band wouldn't reliably tuck in, it felt like it was going to pop out and fall off any time. We thought it was a defect but we tried a couple of the demo ones and it was the same.
I think it may be the shape of her wrist, as my Milanese loop isn't a comfortable fit for her either. Knowing what she knows now she'd get a 42mm next time, she was just put off by the size initially.

sounds like the 42 would fit her better and give her better options. i went the other way, lost a lot of weight and now im glad i went for the 38, i'm on the 2nd to smallest hole of the M/L bands now (i've gone down 4 notches since 1 year ago)

Yeah, it's a pity though, for the sake of a what must really be no more than a dollars worth of band they could've added the two length options and given comfortable equivalent lengths to the sport band.

that was my initial point though - for the vast majority of people the two are equivalent. your experience is clearly an outlier, given the fact they refunded you (customer service) rather than recalled all of the nylon bands (product issue). the sizes really really really are true and accurate to what they say.
