He may have had a pre-production model. They got their watches a month before the first wave did.

Apple started producing in feburary, why would they send a pre-production model? Also those watches had to get some sort of software, so they properly also had the final version of the watch software.

Please Tim and Angela, figure this out and get me a watch. And definetly before you get my wife's watch to her. I would never live that down.

I ordered mine at xx:18 after ore-orders opened. Secretly ordered my wife's 12 hours later (after our try on appointment). Her watch arrived Tuesday. Mine's set for late May. It's been super cool. She feels so cutting edge. She's pretty pumped. Makes mine feel even further away. ;)

you try so hard to hate. i wonder -- is it tiring? does it wear you down, or do you pull upon deep reserves of strength?

You are right. Apple hardware, even though it comes with faults at times, usually last longer. Telling from personal experiences. If someone claims some other brands are better, they should go buy those instead of trying to prove apples hardware is bad. Some people draw sick pleasures out of arguments just for the sake of arguments. :)

I have a Dell that is over a decade old, that is still working. I have had 2 different models of macbook pros that both died because of GPU issues, just after the warranty ended.

No, they seemingly didn"t. People like Turlington and some models got a watch months early, before the latest version got to the watch.

Yes, anecdotes, the true harbinger of truth : I've had Acers, IBM, Asus, Macs, random beige box hardware, motherboards, CPUs, memory, GPUs, many disks of all types, die on me...

I've been around awhile.

Everything can die, as long as they don't die too soon, Still got a few servers I built myself with Off the shelf parts from the late 1990s still chugging along as various little servers 18 years later. Haven't had the heart to kill them yet... They could last forever....

I've got a 3GS that's been used to death (more than any computer has the right to be) and still ticking. What does it mean for Apple quality? Who knows really.

My haptic engine has died after a week. Wonder how long it will take to get a replacement. Also wonder how you actually get a replacement!

Cancel that: back working now

So does this mean I'll still get my watch in time? I have mine scheduled for May 12 - 26 and I'm wondering if everyone else in the first batch has already received their's.

4 dell laptops, all died, motherboard and/or display cards. frequently see HDD failure in my office pcs of my colleagues. because of this, all desktops have now raids for the past 2-3 years when we buy them. and saw one new dell laptop, 3-4 months old, die right before my eyes yesterday. after dell, had only mbp late 2011. still working perfectly fine, dropped thrice, including once from about 5 ft high on a cement floor. works as usual with a slightly bent display.
out of all my experiences with apple (over 15 devices from my family), only one iphone 6 died because of motherboard failure. got it changed 3 days ago without any fuss.
so yeah, your mileage may vary. but me and my family had terrible experiences with dell (laptops and pcs) and samsung (phone).

Well, I had a similar thing with a 6... they have replacements held in stock that are not to be sold.

I imagine they allocate so many thousands a batch to Repairs and returns. Then over time the reconditioned units take over.

What I meant is that perhaps he got a model before they fully identified the problem. It's entirely possible they expected to have the factories run at full capacity in advance of the launch, realized the problem existed in March, and recalled the part and cut production targets but sent the review units out as is.

I think so. This appears to explain why the delivery dates got pushed out so quickly on April 10.

Good thing mine hasn't even been created yet. I'm glad now that the online Apple Store was down extra long for me. ;)

Did you read the article? Every Apple Watch that has shipped does NOT have a defective tactic engine, and are all using the components sent from Japan. They scrapped ALL of the defected widgets. So I wouldn't be so glad about your situation.

I remember reading reports that the crown attaching bracket inside a stainless steel Apple Watch is beefier (nicer) that the bracket inside the sport model. Perhaps the stainless steel's taptic engine is prettier on the outside too? :)

Edit: Yep, the crown bracket is much more substantial in the stainless steel model:

But, the taptic engine looks the same. Not anything like Apple's initial photos of the taptic engine.

Mark

I don't see what the difference is between the marketing photo and production taptic engine, other than the production model has :apple: taptic engine written in black not gray.

Yup. The Emperor has no clothes anymore, and the QC of this product speaks louder than any "FORM." :apple:

Yeah because Apple never had partproblems with products before, certainly not under Steve Jobs. http://gizmodo.com/5061605/apple-co...-macbook-pros-offers-free-repairs-and-refunds

And the inside of Apple products under Steve Jobs were beautiful masterpieces that didn't look like anything else and now they look like garbage. Like the new MacBook and iPhone. Utter garbage. And the nMP, clearly Apple couldn't be bothered there. Steve would be so ashamed.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think that Ma Pro looks damn stunning inside. As well as the iPhone. Its neat and packaged with no bits poking anywhere. They ARE beautiful!

No, no no. Don't you get it? Apple doesn't care anymore. It's being run by a bean counter who only cares about putting cheap garbage inside his products. /s

No!
The hapless touch thing has stopped AND I have tattoos!

My digital life is over...

WOOHOO! GO REDS!

Got a red strap?

True. Love to see the return rate over the summer based on failed Tapic engines. Then again, how many use this feature and will notice it not working if broken.

mine seems a bit too light, would like to feel the comparison on another watch.i'll setup appointment with apple to test it
