Haha that was exactly my thought. It you're going to the fashion week, at least try to look and pretend to be stylish. And go to the gym Jony!
Not quite as ostentatiously as Eddy Cue as he is big guy by nature. And Schiller has always been on the round side (though I think it's bit better under control now).LOL he is getting fat again. Should have a "skinny" clause in his contract.
To me this symbolizes they truly don't know where to market it and that Ive doesn't know how to dress appropriately for this market.
I can see the apple watch become reborn apples first real failure
It's funny, the Apple watch looks too big for me in most images but I wear a Suunto Core which is even bigger (and clearly identified as sports watch with its big LCD).My first thought when I looked at the watch photo, "I overslept!" The second was that the metal looks as if it was discolored by too much heat. Third was the size or scale looks oversized on that specific wrist.
iOS7 design and now ... an "ensemble outfit" stolen off a 50's wise-guy ... Ive has got to go ....
Jonny impress us with a better ui design, one that takes longer than 5 minutes to design, otherwise move on
Ok , just a quick report....
A bunch of grown up people, slightly on the elderly side, overly self important because of designing and selling some ridiculous expensive outfits for which 9 out of 10.000.000 people will bend themselves to be en vogue, wearing sunglasses inside a building.
All that just to have a look at a watch presented by an embarrassingly bad dressed and puffed up guy, which is not only pretty much obsolete as a device, but also rather ugly, fat and totally against any design principles, for which that manufacturing company normally stands for. A watch, which is supposed to be worn all day long, is fat a cheeseburger and a phone, which is inside a pocket, is waverthin to the pinnacle of be bend.
Yeah, that's quite the hype, man
Oh dear, Apple. What have you become.
Wish they would build an awesome X-Mac instead, upgradable with kick ass graphic cards, together with a bunch of new retina screens and professional software to match. Ok, share price would drop. But what the heck, man.
I believe my life has value, and I don't want to waste it thinking about clothing. I don't want to think about what I will wear in the morning. Truly, can you imagine anything more boring than fashion? Professional sports, perhaps. Grown men swatting little balls, while the rest of the world pays money to applaud. But, on the whole, I find fashion even more tedious than sports.
Well you know - the camera adds 10 lbs...
Ill try and keep still, lean off the seat but look like a crumpled magazine.
I am as big as an Apple fan as they come, but this picture represents why so many people hate Apple (like many of my Samsung Galaxy loving friends).
It's not the products that they hate, it's the arrogance about how they present them, and this is a perfect example of that. Rich hob-snobbing fashion industry and high and mighty types flaunting a piece of jewelry as if it's the worlds greatest designed object. I mean LOOK AT THEM! It comes off very distasteful, especially for people who can't afford one (cue again many Android users).
This post may sound very anti-Apple, but it's not. I'm just looking at it from the perspective of a non-fan and how they may view something like this.
Apple is marketing to a very specific type of customer, and that's OK. But when it gets to the point when you start to alienate the general public, it can sometimes do more harm than good.
Find it interesting how the whole world (on this forum) is coming down on Jony Ive over this photo.
It's an ironic reminder that reality isn't perfect. Apple (better than most companies) is really good at painting an idealistic picture of the world with their products, where everything down to the last thing is thought about, planned out and under complete control. Yet the people behind the company, who create the mirage of the perfect world, which we all got to love, are after all just people like you and me. They get tired and look it, aren't always in perfect shape, don't always dress impeccably. And so on.
Considering this, I really like that picture, a lot. And Jony Ive, Sir, if you read this, so should you![]()
Why is a watch a toy?
The gold ones looked..uh... goldy ?? I hate gold watches, so I wouldn't know. And most people were admiring the metallic and plastic ones anyway.
One caveat though : Some fashion editor complained that it looked too masculine. I kinda agree. It did looked elegantly masculine, and even the smaller models with pink bracelets still looked somewhat masculine. I don't know how appealing it will look to women, but then again Im' not a woman, so what do I know?
EDIT :
a photo I took of my favorite model. It really looks better in real.

Thanks for the update from Paris!
Did they have the Rose Gold with Rose Gray leather on display? Did it look masculine enough where it could be work by a man as is? On the Apple Watch forum I've been discussing maybe doing a "mix-and-match" with one of the 38mm space black stainless steel bands since I like rose gold, but don't like the white sport band option. The rose gold Edition with rose gray leather has a black crown and so might match the stainless steel band a bit better. But if the rose gray is more subtle maybe I could pull it off.

The photograph is symbolic.
It represents: Fashion Over Form
Which the iWatch will be.
An "innovation" too far, methinks![]()
I don't party with the fashion crowd, but can someone explain to me why the hell apple cares to persuade these types to sell the watch?
I mean everyone knows apple, and I daresay half of the planet knows what apple watch is
So wtf cares what Chanel or lagerfeld says about apples fashion accessory?
Am I to believe that they need the blessing of vogue to sell to high end prince's?
