I'm less interested in the Apple watch now...he is awful...his music is awful...and I'm very concerned that the Apple Watch is going to be the goto status symbol for moron celebrities.

I'll still get one, but god, I wish it was anyone but him wearing one.

Great. I'll take your advice.

I have no interest in sewing machines so I think I'll find a sewing machine forum/website to let people know I'm not interested in whatever latest sewing machine model is being talked about in that world.

On second thought... Nah. You "non-interested, yet reading/commenting about it" folks just keep on with what you're doing.

I'll stick to spending my time on stuff I'm interested in.

Not that I'd really be surprised by the existence of such thing, but the idea of a sewing machine forum/website made me laugh so hard. :p

Oh. Someone is... wearing... a watch. How exciting.

This is a forum about Apple products. When the iPhone was announced, and seen around before it came out, did you say "someone is... using... a phone. How exciting?" If so, why are you here?

Apple is being really deliberate in marketing this on fashionable people and celebrities. Pretty good move.

Or a move of desperation? Kind of embarassing that Apple feels they need all of these celebrity endorsers of this kitchy gadget. (Being an Apple product alone should be enough to sell millions of these things as it is.)

He's a pretty talented guy. Whether you like pop music or not. Don't be so closed minded

This isn't an Apple Watch forums, but simply an Apple forums. I'm not interested in the watch, but I come here because I'm interested in virtually every other Apple product. Sometimes thinking critically can make the world seem like a much less chaotic place, ya know?

Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof! Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth! Clap along if you know what happiness is to you! Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do! :D

Some people here don't take Apple criticism very well, and take it rather personally. Don't let it get to you.

Seriously, I like wearables, but this thing is just ugly and cheap looking. And that horrible looking UI. DOA. Even the most dedicated Apple users I know tell me this thing is ugly. There's just never been an Apple product that has been so disappointing.

Fortunately for a lot of us, MR isn't an echo chamber for sycophants, or as some like to describe it, a fan site. It's a site for those who have an interest in Apple. Whether that interest is negative or positive, it's interest.

No one's forcing you to be interested in it. However, I'm forced to waste my time reading hate comments about it. I wish there was a way to filter those out.

He wasn't forced to be interested in the watch, but you were forced to waste time reading his comment. How is that possible.

OT: We are probably going to start seeing more and more celebs wearing the watch. People should get used to it. Just wait, any day now there's going to be a Beiber sighting with an :apple:watch

But it's A-OK for Samsung to have Lebron James and Jay-Z endorse their products but somehow it's wrong for Apple to have celebrities as endorsers.

Bunch of nitpickin hypocrites...

I think what they're saying is Apple should have enough faith in their product as to not have popu-celebrities wear it on reality TV shows and in fashion magazines.

I kind of agree. Apple shouldn't have to stoop to that level in order to advertise their products, but for some reason they feel compelled to with the Apple Watch.

The Mac, iPhone, iPod and iPad are all only obviously useful in hindsight.

Just look at the MR threads after the iPod, iPhone and iPad launched. The Mac was called a toy for years and it took until Windows 3 for the GUI to be taken seriously by the masses.

Apple is targeting fashion not because of the Watch's lack of utility, but because it's a highly personal, wearable device.

Not exactly. While we were disappointed in some of the implementation choices, the iPhone and iPad were obvious steps with obvious use cases.

Looks good. I have found Apple can selective give some people early access before the official release date. Just been told this.

If I didn't buy anything because it was owned by someone I didn't like, I'd be naked right now. ;)

Especially embarrassing to Samsung that both Lebron and Jay-Z use iPhones by choice when they're not being directly paid to promote Samsung products.

I think both are lame. Also, targeting the wing demographic imo. I could be wrong though.

Meh. It's pretty standard and hardly a new practice for Apple. They pay for plenty of the Apple product placements you see in movies & tv.

Yeah, but those are usually products that are already out in the wild.

As far as I can recall, this is the first time they're doing it to generate buzz about a product that's not yet been released.

Every one is not a fan of the look of the :apple:watch. My daughter is. I'm not. It looks unisex to me. My taste lean more toward a more masculine style.

Not saying you, but there's a contingent on this forum that incorrectly assumes that people can only comment on a topic if the response is pro Apple. That's asinine. Everyone can have an opinion.

Since when are the popularity of Apple products and the way the rich and famous also embrace them mutually exclusive? Sure they slipped an Apple Watch to him a week before me but something tells me that a guy that wears a giant, stupid hat everywhere doesn't need to be paid to be interested in fashion.

The display is not powered on unless you look at it, in order to conserve battery life. If they implemented this well, it's a pretty useful feature.

I agree that it's a smart feature, but does this also mean most of the time you're just sporting a black screen on your wrist? Hardly fashionable IMO.

Apple's history with celebrity endorsement goes waaaaaaaaay back. It's nothing new. With Apple positioning the watch as a fashion accessory, it's a first for them (advertising fashionistas instead of mainstream). What else goes with fashion better than celebrity? Well, there's coke and heroine, but I don't think Apple wants to go that route.;)
