Didn't Will.iam make his own line of smart watch called the pulse?

Edit: Never mind. I misread.

Please. Don't. Remind. Us.
If I recall correctly, it was really, really bad.

Everytime I see the Apple watch appear on a celebrity, I can't help but think about Beats. This is the same kind of marketing that made Beats. Is there a famous athlete with an Apple watch yet?

All this iWatch hype feels incredibly forced and cheesy. I'm sure there is a demographic out there that will respond to it, but wow. RIP Dignity. #$oul

I agree and disagree. One part tells me that Apple better not make this a flop so they must get word on the street. But the other part tells me that do you really need to duplicate information that you can already receive on your smartphone. Apple has gone overboard with all the stuff you can do on the watch it really does not have a defined purpose. To sit there and thumb through options and apps on a small display has to be painful.
Now with 1000 apps already updated and many more to come you're going to micromanage not only your iPhone but all the notifications the watch receives.

What size are your wrists?

Not sure of the exact size of my wrist but I'm 5'9" weigh 165 and can wear my wife's 7 inch tennis bracelet no problem. Large watches look silly on my wrist but I don't want too petite either. I tried the actual size cut outs on my wrist and the 42mm was perfect.

i find it extremely interesting that they are always wearing the sport version

Might want to update the post, Mac Rumors! He posted a video tease of the :apple: Watch sporting that well-crafted Mickey Mouse classic watch face:

Seeing this now sort-of pisses me off. Apple usual doesn't let celebrities have access to their new releases before the general public, not counting a photo shoot advertisement. For him to be bragging on social media seems elitist. When new iPhones lauch it's reassuring EVERYONE gets a chance to get it at the same time. Really disappointed in Apple for this discretion.

Eh, it's good publicity. Can't fault Apple for it really. I'm not even mad.

This isn't the first time Apple has done this. Stephen Colbert routinely had access and displayed iPhones and iPads prior to release.

Why would anyone think advertising is a move of desperation. Getting more eyes on a new product can only improve sales. Why wouldn't they hedge their bets. An ad push (which I'm assuming is the work of Angela A.) is nothing new. While Apple definitely does have the name recognition, I think a major focus this time around is showing what the apple watch is truly capable of...since it may not be very obvious to some (basing that last comment on the ignorance of many of the comments in the forum)

Or a move of desperation? Kind of embarassing that Apple feels they need all of these celebrity endorsers of this kitchy gadget. (Being an Apple product alone should be enough to sell millions of these things as it is.)

Maybe Bruce Jenner will be flashing one soon?

And let's bring in the entire Kardashian clan too.

You mean like how Stephen Colbert was given the iPad or the iPhone6 Plus before their respective release dates?

How ignorant... Stephen Colbert routinely had iPhones and ipads prior to release and he's as prominent, if not more, than Pharrell.

IMHO, part of the push is to show people what the actual watch is and get eyes on..most likely a plan from Angela A.

I think what they're saying is Apple should have enough faith in their product as to not have popu-celebrities wear it on reality TV shows and in fashion magazines.

I kind of agree. Apple shouldn't have to stoop to that level in order to advertise their products, but for some reason they feel compelled to with the Apple Watch.

I also think Stephen Colbert is a much more influential figure than Pharrell Williams.

Just saying.

That seemed more like an Apple sanctioned "first glimp" of a new product, rather than someone getting a device before it's official launch. Admittedly, I can't quantify the distinction, but my gut reaction seems different. I'm sure more public sightings will occur, so I guess it's not that big a deal. It was just nice knowing the likes of Justin Bieber and Donald Trump were getting the new iPhones at at same time as everyone else, although I'm sure they paid someone to stand inline or preorder for them.

Some people here don't take Apple criticism very well, and take it rather personally. Don't let it get to you.

Oh, com on. People here have started criticising a product even before they knew a jack **** about it. Because it's in their nature to do that. Have a chance to see one in person or use one and then be as critical as you like about it.

That's the thing... It's not just a gadget. It's an item of clothing. You're wearing it. It has to be considered fashionable to get worn. And there's no objective notion of "good fashion" there are only trends.

People have used other Apple products, they've seen videos of the Apple Watch being used, they know the price, and they've likely used or seen other smartwatches on the market. With all that data, it's not at all hard to come up with an opinion about it.

Great. I'll take your advice.

I have no interest in sewing machines so I think I'll find a sewing machine forum/website to let people know I'm not interested in whatever latest sewing machine model is being talked about in that world.

On second thought... Nah. You "non-interested, yet reading/commenting about it" folks just keep on with what you're doing.

I'll stick to spending my time on stuff I'm interested in.

Damn I love these comments, but I think yours was one of my favorites. Good job yo hahah.

Oh great. Now people will find out about Sewing Machine Rumors.

THANKS. A. LOT.

I was enjoying the secrecy of that website.

It'll start going downhill now --- once the world finds out about it.

First world problems

Yeah, but those are usually products that are already out in the wild.

As far as I can recall, this is the first time they're doing it to generate buzz about a product that's not yet been released.

Steven Colbert used an iPad to announce a grammy winner before the iPad was released.
