It's kind of sad that deliveries are kind of slow but it's expected considering they have 38 different models. I really thought they might just ship the body and the bands separately (that would have made everything much easier for them).

The watch probably won't be a failure the same way the Apple TV or the Mac Pro aren't a failure either.

You can really make a blockbuster out something nobody really needs.

Well said Alvi. I can agree with your statement. Thanks for saying it in a non militant way.

Watchgate

I don't usually hop on the "gate" wagon but it appears the apple watch was launched prematurely. Neither the watch or the bands were ready for launch. Apple only launched the watch out of necessity to save face as they had committed to releasing it.

There appear to production issues with the taptic engines, black sports bands, leather loops, classic buckles as well as the DLC process for the black stainless steel watch.

Bottom line they should not have releasd a substandard product that was not ready for lunch.

Had my Apple Watch for 1 week today. No issues whatsoever. Love it. Such fantastic potential for this device.

They should've just sold all the parts in those large drawers like they did with those electronic components at Radio Shack with a "Some assembly required" disclaimer.

Nope, Apple was meant to give you a complete experience right out of the box. It's always been that way, and it might take longer for them to produce all those 38 versions separately, but in the end, who wants to open a box full of other boxes and a multi-folded page of instructions? You should expect that for a Dyson vacuum cleaner or a Panasonic cordless phone set, but not an Apple product.

It'd be cool if the 'not ready for lunch' bit was a sweeping metaphor about Apple Watch still being in its 'breakfast' stage of existence.

That said, I'm not sure it was intended. ;)

Another happy Watch owner here.

Not ready for lunch! Many luuuuuuuuulz.

Why all these rants? Gosh people, get a life and maybe some lunch.

On top of the manufacturing problems people seem to be having quite a bit of problems with notifications and the heart rate monitor amongst other things.

I was shocked they they had a prefabricated picture of the watch with its band on the side of the box.

Sorry about the "lunch" typo.

As a long time fan and owner of many apple products I feel the consumers were mislead.
Apple have not been honest with their most loyal fans. This is the reason for all the frustration and anger.

The SBSS watch was NOT available on launch day and neither were the classic buckles.

If Apple had come out and said they were having good some production issues from the start people would have been more understanding. Instead they continue to remain silent. They are pretending everything is going according to plan when in fact they are trying to pick up the bits and pieces.

Their marketing department are too busy giving away limited edition watches to celebrities who really couldn't care about Apple or the watch instead of communicating with their actual customers.

I do not believe that the apple of old would have let this happen. They were solely focused on their products as they knew the products would sell themselves. They did not need celebrities to flash their products around.

Just by the way I got my watch on launch day and do not have any issues with it either so I am not bitter about not having my watch.

Getting this information second hand has only expounded the frustration from their customer base.

If you're going to rant like this, you should at least know your vocabulary. "expounded"? I don't think that word makes sense here. Perhaps you meant "compounded"?

I do however agree that Apple should have much better communication during this launch.

New flash: Apple is just a company. If you don't like their service, don't give them your business. That's how it works in free markets. If you can pull off the introduction of an entirely new product with an initial demand in the millions, and with new and complicated technology requiring billion-dollar manufacturing lines, by all means, knock yourself out.

Heck, I'd be willing to bet that if you can do this better than Apple, you'll make yourself a pile of money. What's holding you back? You all know better than Apple how to do this, stop whining and start doing.

Otherwise, you come across as a bunch of toddlers, whining away that you can't have everything your way, right away, and I want it now, darnit! You're just cranky, and you haven't had your nap time, apparently.

I'm happy to wait till JULY for the Apple watch I ordered, 42mm SS SB Link band.

Ordered 42MM Sport with Blue Sport Band on 4/18, shipping in June, date was then moved to May 15-20.
Credit Card Charged on 4/27, shipped on 4/28. I guess I got lucky?

Thanks for the grammar clarification. I am sure my posts are riddled with grammar and spelling errors. I am not the greatest at either.

1) There are no issues with the blue sports band.
2) There was not much initial demand for the blue sports band.

Lucky that you chose a watch combination with lower demand and no issues maybe. No coincidence in the shipping time being bumped up.

At some point they need to communicate with their customers. All the hype and build up for this watch has mislead people into thinking that they would have received their watches already. The company has placed watches on the wrist of celebrities but has made them out of reach for the majority of people who ordered them. This week we hear from the Wall Street Journal that apple has a problem with the "taptic" engine on the watch. Getting this information second hand has only expounded the frustration from their customer base. Apple should have never launched this product when they did and owe their entire customer base an apology. At the very minimum they should let the customers who have already ordered know what the issues have been. Their customer service department should contact the customers directly as opposed to leaking information through news outlets.

for goodness sake
have some patience
better they are sold out then they have loads left over

the delivery time is on your order. they were always upfront
take you significant other out for dinner and relax ;)

If it isn't past your estimated delivery date just hush and stop crying

Please, cite where I've stated that?

The only impatient people I'm talking about are those that ignored Apple's statements saying supply would be limited, who can't seem to figure out that the ordering process online was set up specifically because supply was tight, and have taken to the internet to spin tales about how they've been mislead while ignoring that they should know better.

Now,,, did we really hear of this short demand from Apple? no, the only watch Apple talked about was the Edition being limited. we always hear Apple news from other sources., not them (shh... Its a secret )

I any case I received mine on the 24th, and though it is a nice watch, it is not a great watch. I like some of its features and don't others.

To me Apple is a company and should release more information to their customers, but from what I've seen in these forums, many people don't even hold Apple up to the standards as they would Starbucks ( oh no they put too much sugar in my coffee, the world is at an end) while Apple can keep you in the dark, overcharge you, and change information as they please, and all I hear is " It is Apple"

 oh no did I really type this

Lol. I love this.

Unless you really wanted the white one...

Then you're just settling.

"Starbucks didn't have coffee this morning, so I got tea."
