4-6 weeks for delivery on a newly released product is a joke. Why the focus on online ordering? It's insane, and not having ANY exchange stock?? wtf!

The 4-6 weeks, if you ordered on 4/10, includes 2 weeks of pre-order time once release day rolls around.

Step 1: Hire a manufacturer that does not make defective Taptic engine parts.

If you even had a shred of credibility before, you just killed it with that statement.

All the 42mm models not shipping till July now is embarrassing

It's interesting that I now know your name because of the many **** posts you've made. Really not great to be known for that, but there it is.

You weren't around for the iPhone 4 white color launch, were you?

I love my watch, but this is just odd.

Same question applies. You weren't around for the iPhone 4 launch, were you?

Jobs stated that the white iPhone 4 would be available. It wasn't. On launch day for the iPhone 4, within minutes, Apple's site, ATT's site, T-Mobile's site, Best Buy's site, Radio Shack's site, Vodafone's site, Roger's site, Telstra's site, and Optus' site all crashed because of the overload of people trying to order the phone. Once they came back up an hour later, everything was gone.

And that white iPhone 4? Not only was it not available at launch, it wasn't available for another four months. Not only by that time did Verizon finally get the iPhone 4, but development already had started on the 4S, making it useless to even look at the white iPhone 4.

And you're complaining about waiting 4-6 weeks for a watch to arrive? Waiting 4 months for one to be able to be ordered has you trumped.

BL.

ZZZZZZzzzzzzzz not this again. Can't one of these ridiculous posts just get stickied and then all the complainers can save their energy by reading it rather than posting this drivel again?

Sorry to be so blunt but I can't believe how irrational some people are. You realise that the world we live in a) is not perfect and b) doesn't revolve around you and your own personal desires? Apologies?! For shipping a product a few days late? Heads up on 'rumoured' supply chain issues? Are you mad?

If you think you can do it better, please go ahead and do so. If you don't like what Apple does, vote with your wallet not your fingers.

I will say this.

With the iPhone 6 launch last year, you could preorder or wait in line at a store to get a phone.

I seem to recall a huge amount of disdain with Apple because they "let" scalpers buy phones at the store and resell them supposedly overseas. Remember those pictures from New York?

One way to help alleviate this issue is to make the watches available solely online for the initial launch so that there are not hordes of scalper's donkeys waiting in line snatching up available stock.

This launch has not been the smoothest, but I am going to take a wild guess that if Apple tried to offer their limited stock in stores and do more in store sales than just the boutiques, there would be even more disappointed fans than there are now. For the most part, everyone is receiving their orders as fast as Apple can possibly get them to you.

If watches you would have had delivered were marked for in store purchases and you couldn't make it to a store to wait in line, how would to feel?

So basically, I think Apple is doing OK with what they have at this point.

This is different.

They said "coming soon" with the white iPhone 4, with no date in mind. Furthermore, you could still buy AN iPhone 4. I can't even get a 42MM watch in any size without it taking weeks if not months.

But either way you'd be waiting. Difference?

I am not sure what the rush was to get these to the market. Other than their earnings coming out right after launch and of course they wait to break the bad news at the beginning of the new quarter. It seems deceptive to me.

Hilarious reading the Apple apologists DEFEND Apple for the Taptic engine being faulty and many getting faulty Apple Watches and now people are waiting till July for anyone who wants a 42mm LOL

Yes this is different. They're being more transparent this time with the dates. They are providing clear dates on when you can expect the product. If those dates are unacceptable you can either wait, or you can buy another product that is available.

Verizon got the iPhone 4 in Feb 2011, which was 8 months after the iPhone 4 went on sale in June 2010. The White iPhone 4 went on sale in April 2011.

you know there are hordes of russian people cutting lines and are basically "scalper's donkeys" at MaxField store in LA right? 1 of the very few exclusive high-end fashion stores.

Do you think Apple felt pressurized to come up with something new, seeing other companies also launching smart watches and them doing nothing, and also perhaps trying to pack too many things into 1 device?

Perhaps it was all too much, too soon, they could of started in a more simple and reliable, and cheaper way and gradually build up from a strong base position, giving them time to get things right before launching each aspect.

The rumors that Apple was going to make a watch really got into full gear almost a year and a half ago. And at that time it seemed like they could drop an announcement at anytime. If anything the other companies reacted to the potential product and rushed smartwatches to the market. Then Apple just ignored that and worked along at the pace they needed.

I don't think there was really anything wrong with Apple's strategy. It just seemed that as they approached launch time 2 key things happened. 1...supply was disrupted by issues with one of the taptic engine manufacturers (and there could be other supply issues that came up in zero hour as well that we have not yet, or probably never will know about). And 2...demand was a lot higher then they had expected.

For a first gen product in a new category segment where fashion is being mixed with tech it would be unrealistic to expect it to go 100%. Im sure Jeff Williams is disappointed it hasn't gone as smooth as previous launches, but he probably isn't losing sleep either given the huge challenges he faced.

I thought that was the other way around, because TC was at their event with the 4..

Either way, with WWDC that year being 2 months after, and the 4S was announced then, it made getting the white 4 completely obsolete.

And this is going to affect an absolute minute percentage of people compared to a full in store launch at all Apple Store locations. Basically a non factor.

And this is the paragraph I typed in regards to that.

You seemed to have omitted that part of my post.

This "launch" gets stranger by the day, it's great that a non-Apple retail store is getting them in stock and selling them daily, and in the correct order. Apple should take notice.

Tim Cook launched the 4S only days after Steve Jobs passed away, in October 2011.

It wasn't a great launch. I was very happy and satisfied with the iPhone 6 release. With the current MacBook and apple watch release, I am disappointed. while I understand that people will attack my post but bare in mind that's it my opinion. I think that Apple quoting June on orders made 30 minutes after release is shambolic and there was a huge operational failure. There are a lot of unhappy customers including myself. Alot of people are defending this release but you can't defend it especially when Tim Cook comes out and basically says they screwed this release up. One can only hope that they've learnt from this mistake.

In all fairness, Apple is constantly under the spot light for working conditions in manufacturing. Creating 2, 000, 000+ watches in a space of a month is an extremely challenging task. However, one can counter argue that Apple has the hard cold cash to produce results. This is even reflected in their stock prices.

Now everyone who ordered a Gen 1 is impatient. Classic holier than thou attitude.

It is the same attitude you displayed in your OP. So you cant now get mad that other people are throwing your own standard back in your face. Apple is not forcing you into impatience. You know what Apple product launches are like and you knew it would take several moonths to fulfill your order but you pushed pay any way.

Let's break it down.

At some point they need to communicate with their customers. All the hype and build up for this watch has mislead people into thinking that they would have received their watches already. The company has placed watches on the wrist of celebrities but has made them out of reach for the majority of people who ordered them.

Here is where the case of entitlement comes in. Apple is using those celebs for advertising, and because of that, you're whinging about why it isn't available/you don't have yours yet.

This week we hear from the Wall Street Journal that apple has a problem with the "taptic" engine on the watch. Getting this information second hand has only expounded the frustration from their customer base. Apple should have never launched this product when they did and owe their entire customer base an apology.

Who do you think brought up AntennaGate? It certainly wasn't Apple. But you still haven't answered the other question posed to you immediately after the OP: Were you around for the iPhone 4 launch? If so, you would have known that that was much worse, and exposed bigger problems than what you are making this out to be.

At the very minimum they should let the customers who have already ordered know what the issues have been. Their customer service department should contact the customers directly as opposed to leaking information through news outlets.

Okay. Would you like a "You're wearing it wrong" response from TC? Or perhaps "It's your fault for burning off the layers of your skin when you got the tattoo on your arm to compete with every other hipster this millennium"?

In short, your whinging and moaning about his, when there has been much worse that has occurred clearly exposes your sense of entitlement as well as your want for instant gratification. On the other hand, this is also what may or may not happen to those early adopters who get to bleed in a product not knowing if it is stable or not. It's people like that dealing with those problems that made me glad I skipped the 4 when it came out and went with the 4S. So thank you for being the guinea pig.

Again, a 4-6 week wait, which was after the launch (and mind you, launch does not in any way, shape, or form mean "instantly available"), is nothing compared to waiting 4 months or longer for a product to even be available to purchase, despite it being said that it would be available at launch.

I am just expressing my opinion and have all the rights to do so. I am not exhibiting a holier than though attitude either, sorry to burst your bubble.
