Apple Watch Order Statuses Shifting to 'Preparing for Shipment'

It seems the time of ordering is somewhat irrelevant (IMHO).

I have a 38 SS with black sport .... order placed at 12:16 .... now charged and ready for despatch (in UK)

I hope not, because I have a 42mm with BSB on preorder and am REALLY hoping to get it Friday. But it's a thought.

They sold so many more Sport watches than any others, and many of those had black sports bands.

That doesn't sound like a far fetched possibility!! Man, I hope that's not the case.
 
This is my order status at the moment:- (I'm from the UK)

It still shows a shipment date of June.....but I'm hoping it will be sooner(?)

I found out mine was coming yesterday by checking my credit card available credit. By working out the balance, what my limit was and my available credit, I could see there was a charge of the price of the watch. Perhaps have a look at that? Or if you are desperate to know, ring them and see if there's a charge from Apple.

My 'preparing' status only changed this morning so don't lose hope yet!

I used paypal (linked to my debit card) and have been checking my bank balance every hour or so for the past day, still no charge.

I sure hope we start seeing SS watches with BSBs shipping in the US soon! I'm on pins and needles! If I got up at 2 a.m. (central time) to preorder a watch and I can't at least get a delivery date (even if it's not Friday) then something is messed up.
 
I think a bit of honesty direct from Apple would go a long way. If they are having issues with dispatching Watches then at least let people know. Don't just leave it to speculation. It grows like wild fire on forums.

Indeed, we shouldn't be reduced to having this kind of anxiety, checking our bank balances and he Apple website for a change in status every few hours. Not when we have spent the kind of money we have (personally that is £600).


In this day and age of digitised logistics there is simply NO WAY Apple don't know exactly where the watch we have been designated is or the status of our order. And yet you speak to an Apple representative and they are as clueless as we are.

Apple are being unnecessarily opaque about this and it is creating a very bad taste in my mouth when in the past I have had nothing but praise for Apple, its service and its products.

This is brilliant and completely true. There is no way they don't have more control over their supply chain.
 
I'm waiting just as anxiously as the next person but seriously the best anyone was quoted was 4/24 - 5/8 regardless of how many seconds past midnight PST you ordered. Once 5/8 passes and you still don't have your watch then and only then should you be questioning Apple's honesty or am I missing something?

Still no status change or money taken for order on 10th at 8.04am here in the UK 42mm Space Grey Aluminium Case with Black Sport Band.

Anyone else in the same boat?
 
In Germany my 38mm Space Gray Sport just changed to Preparing for Shipment. Confirmation e-mail 12:02.
Seems like I will get it on Friday. Sadly I won´t be able to use it until the 12th May :/

It is inconceivable they don't have a full understanding where every single Apple watch is right now. That they are not willing to share this information with those who have paid considerable sums of money for such products is more than just a little unacceptable in my opinion.

What is the need in all this opaqueness though? Honesty would be much more appreciated, if they said, it is in X and will only reach you by Monday 27th, or even the 7th of May, I would be disappointed but at least I would have a firm date and I could accept that. The unknowing is what I can't stand.

Not sure ,I wanted the black band but since the shipping pushed out I decided to get a white band to at least get my watch sooner than later and get a black band down the road. I knew I would not have the patience to wait 4-6 weeks. I can barley wait this long. hehe

Funny thing happened.

Ordered Sport SG 42MM on April 10 at 12:03, says processing still, delivers 4/24-5/8

Ordered Sport 38MM Blue on April 12, 16:30 PST said "ships June", now shows preparing for shipment and my AMEX was just charged!..

Makes no sense.

Almost the same here...got confirmation 5 minutes after orders started, I'm in the USA...processing, no credit card activity.

I'm in. I don't know the exact time I ordered but it was within the first 10 minutes of the store opening. 42mm Sport Space Grey. Order confirmation received at 3:12 am but fell into the 5/13-5/27 delivery window.

Apparently I was too slow to make first wave. I feel like a slouch...
 
I suspect that apple has not thought this thru at all and they are all now running around like headless chickens not knowing what to do! It is clearly very apparent they are unprepared for this launch and looks like it will go down as a complete disaster!

If I get my 42MM SS BSB watch on Friday I will consider it quite a success. :p
