Is Johnny polishing them by hand himself ;)

I appreciate the craftsmanship and everything but I find it unusual that they did not have any link bracelets ready to ship day 1...

I know this will be worth waiting for and its going to be an amazing watch but hurry up please ;)

They could have mass produced the bracelet since last year, just waiting on the watch to be ready. No excuses.

Still waiting and confused...

Like so many others, I pre-ordered within the first two minutes of the pre-order on sale time. I got up at 3am est for the apple watch with lync bracelet. What shocks me is buying the most expensive model (exception watch edition) right at the on sale time and I am looking at ship times of May 13-27. How does that work? I am confused how that would not be one of the first the first to ship out......like several others have commented.

I am flabbergasted. I ordered the SS 42mm Space Black with black link bracelet. At 3:02 I received my email still I have the same delivery window as you. So is clear to me that the most expensive of the SS line up was not ready for launch day period.

I know. How does that make sense? You would think that might be at the top of list to attract others to buy similar.

Delivery times?

I'd like to know when your order was placed, what you ordered and your estimated deliver time. For instance...

4/13 7:14pm
38mm Stainless Steel Case with Milanese Loop
Available to ship: 4 - 6 weeks
Delivers: May 14 - May 28 by Standard Shipping

I didn't order until I was able to try it on. So many people have the same window as I do and they ordered days before me.

4/10 8:37AM
42mm SS with black sports band
Available to ship: 4-6 weeks
Delivers: May 13 - May 27 by Standard Shipping

I was traveling on the night of the launch and couldn't order until the next morning. I'm not expecting my watch to be delivered early, but I am hoping I'll have it by May 13.

See that's what I don't get, I ordered at :19 past the hour on pre order and I got June but switched to May 29th - June 11th

So this may be a dumb question, but with the exception of the space gray and space black watches, aren't all the watches the same?

For instance, the only difference between the 42mm white sport and 42mm green sport is the color of the band.

Is that right?

Apple Watch orders - Status Tracking website

Here's a link to a handy website which is tracking the time of order, shipping status and delivery dates for Apple Watch, it can give you some idea of how people who ordered at a similar time to you, and with the same model are moving through the process to actually receiving the watch.

http://ordertracker.me

Good Luck to all with getting their watch soon. :)

I ordered at 3:03 est time on April 10th, which was two minutes into the pre sale. My confirmation email is also time stamped as 3:03, so my thought is that I would be one the early ship dates instead I am May 13-27. There are so many others who ordered after already getting their watch which kills me. How does that work when all that is different is the band. I probably should have ordered a cheaper band and would probably already have it.

There is hope for UK SG 42mm Watches...

Same story in Oz for the same watch. Others getting shipped today though so I think it is combination specific...

My order just moved to "Preparing for despatch" and my money left the bank... :)

"The machining process is so precise, it takes nearly nine hours to cut the links for a single strap." - Later the links are brushed by hand.

Obviously these are not being made one at a time but my statement stands, for every person who orders one of these, it took around 9 hours to make.

no it didn't, it took 9 man-hours to make but to go from raw stock metal to having one complete band ready to be installed is a matter of minutes by a group of people working on various parts of it all at the same time. for argument's sake if 28 people all worked on this individual band it would only take 15 minutes of linear time to create one band. it's all about mass production.

Once again. That works because you weren't the only one to hit that "buy" button at 3am. Do you know how many people in how many countries hit that buy button at the same time you did? And if most of them ordered the same watch you did, then the stock vanished pretty quickly. So suddenly the window for that watch isn't April 24-May 8, but May 13-May 27.

I mean, put it in perspective. You have a box of apples and you're surrounded by a hundred people, all wanting one of those apples at the exact same time. Can they all get their apples at the same time or are some going to get it right then and others have to wait till you fetch another box?

Um, that band makes a BIG difference. It might be easy enough to get you the watch, but watch and band come together. So if you ordered a popular band, then, once again, you may have to wait for your watch while they fetch another batch of those bands.

If the watch came without the band, that would be a different story.

The same window doesn't tell you anything. We may both have May 13-May 27 for the same watch/band, but that doesn't mean we're both going to get our watches on May 13. I may get it that day because I ordered early, and you may have to wait till May 27 because you ordered later.

OR Apple may get a huge shipment of those watches/bands, enough to satisfy almost anyone who ordered within X-number of days, and be able to give us both our watches on May 13.

The longer this goes on, the less confidence I have in there being a method to the way they're shipping these watches out...

It does not make sense. The production most likely favored the cheaper models, since those were the ones believed to be the ones ordered the most.

Yes, but the changes to windows seem to be favoring earlier not later delivery dates.

I did, by the way, talk to an Apple person today on a related issue, and she said (and granted, the company's going to put the best spin on things) that the watch was actually an amazingly smooth launch given the unexpectedly huge volume of orders.

I informed her that it wasn't coming across that way to a lot of customers. I told her that I understood that Apple couldn't deliver all the Watches on April 24th, even though they'd likely wanted to, and that some of us would just have to hang in there and wait. Still, customers are playing guessing games as to what's happening and what the hold up is all about. And that's never good. Information always helps.

I'm not sure if anyone with the power to offer information was listening to me and will take my advice, but I did my bit. Again, I recommend you call Apple. They are, at the very least, making an effort to listen to customers and they're willing to really send time talking with us about our concerns.

Does anyone know if the watches are shipped at specific times? Or could my order change at anytime?

I ordered the Sport 38mm Silver with White Sport Band on 4/16 with a June delivery window. Yesterday I got an update that it would be delivered in 3-5 weeks (May 21-June 4). Then today all of a sudden I got a text from my bank that Apple charged me for the watch. A few hours later I get an email that it has been shipped and I should be getting it tomorrow according to Apple. Crazy!!

Hi Mike,

I live in WI. I ordered my Apple Watch Sport Black Band around 2:40 Central Time on the Preorder Launch. I went from June to May 29-June 11 for estimated shipping yesterday. I am thinking I will receive it sooner than expected. What are your thoughts? I believe you stated you are from WI as well? I know Apple is far fetching their Arrival dates, in order to not disappoint the consumer. I'm hoping for a mid May delivery. Thanks.
Hi, I'm in the East Coast right now. I expected some movement this week and it appears some people are seeing that but some of us are still waiting including myself. I still have no change on my order. Like I mentioned to others do contact Apple via their feedback page and include your order number it can only help at this point or at least it shouldn't make things worse.

I think it's all random but due to the fact that your order says preparing for shipment that likely means you will get it real soon. Sign up for the free UPS My Choice to get some heads up on your shipment.

Likely you will get it very soon but sounds like you also ordered one of the most popular model after the sports watch. Anyway doesn't hurt to contact Apple via chat through the order status page just to make sure there are no un-forseen issues with your order and not a bad idea to send Apple some feedback and include your order number.
