Ships in June, lol, they just saved me $400. I will probably wait for the 2nd one now.

... for you...

After watching many reviews, The Verge's really hit home how completely useless it really is. The whole thing is poorly executed and what makes it so poor is that it's totally reliant on your iPhone to function. Also, the speed and time it takes to pull data from your phone is inexcusable.

I have no doubt people will find a few uses for it, but it's not the game changer Apple tells us it is. the reviews were really poor which Apple can't be happy with or have expected. They are used to the press lapping up whatever they release.

Most Watch are showing 4-6 weeks still.
Clearly, customers are looking to get in the game for as little cash as possible for this v1 tech.
Who couldn't have predicted that?

yup. same condition here. i ordered 42mm sports black one(shipping 4/24) just for the gag and see what kind of apps(or even jailbreak?) it can handle. But personally i think its gonna turn out pretty bad due to their battery life and limitation of being tether with iphone all the time. also bought portable external battery just in case.

Apple store app was live at 2:01 am (central time,US), First I ordered the 42mm SS White Sport band because the blue leather loop was at 4-6 weeks. I then ordered the 42mm Blue leather band separate and got a 2-4 week ship time. After that order went through I ordered a 38mm Sport White and surprisingly still got a 4/24 arrival date. All in all I am very happy that with both watches I received a 4/24/arrival date and who knows with the band

When it says 2-4 weeks for the timeframe I assume 2 weeks could still mean launch day?!?!

Edit: Finished all orders by 2:09 am (website came up for me at 2:07)

That's basically how I ordered my husband's watch. Ordered the SS w/black sport band (4/24-5/8 delivery date), then I ordered his link band with a 2-4 week delivery date.

The SS Link started out at 4-6 weeks for delivery, so I think that separate band ordering method is good.

Was so set on the link to replace my SS gshock - glad I made an appointment to try on today - really underwhelmed by the link, it felt cheap as.. The links are way too thin, it needed to be chunkier - opted for the Milanese 42mm - that baby is snug and stylish - not too much for the gym or going out - 10/10 - and the screen is amazing! Well done Apple! Delivery 24-8th.

Also the sport is way too anodized - didn't appeal to me at all in person. Tried silver and black - SS is the winner.

For the 1st time as an Apple customer since 1987, I actually feel deceived.

Early 2015 my ass

I ordered at 4:30, 90 minutes after pre-orders began (Milanese, 42) and will now have to wait 4-6 weeks; between May 13 and May 27.

Really? I wake up this early and there still isn't enough product?

The April 24 launch was misleading. Expect lawsuits.

I can't wait to check out the Milanese in store. That's the one I ordered. :)

That classic buckle is looking mighty tempting.

The classic buckle is my favourite one (I like the understated look). I was going to get a sport this time round but when they slipped to June, I gave in an ordered a 38mm classic buckle for delivery in the first run :)

Source, please.

I agree with poochi this is totally manufactured, apple could easily have estimated what demand there would be, let's face it, it's not something that was going to sit on the shelves gathering dust. It's the same with the iPhone, every year they produce a supply shortage, to make sure it gets in the papers and on the news, loads of free advertising.

From Canada, I ordered my 42mm Space Grey Apple Watch Sport from the Apple Store App within a minute. Got a confirmation email 2 mins later and deliver date April 24 - May 5! :)

Edit: Here's a picture of that glorious email ;)

You mean May 8th?

It would be so much easier if everyone just forgot about whether this product was going to be a success or not, it is impossible to tell. Are they sold out because supply is limited supply, or because of high demand. Even that statement is ambiguous, what is "limited" and what is "high" . We'll only know how this release went when apple release sales figures, even then, the first few months sales won't be indicative of the success of the :apple:watch.

Buy the one you want (or none) and enjoy it. Damn everyone else.

The reviews were overall much better than for the first iPhone and the iPad. Besides, The Verge review was still 7/10. Nilay's downers were all pretty minor in my opinion, with the exception of 3rd party apps and location loading slow, but a lot of that is software update fixable (some likely to be processor though admittedly).

His stuff about notification overload in the bar was stupid - just set up your notifications to lose the junk - or wait for the software update and then buy if you don't want to spend a one-off 5-10 minutes tweaking your setup!

Think differently.

Ordered today Stainless with sports band, black

in Germany this morning, shows May12- May26 delivery
Guys, as I predicted, this will be much more successful than most people thought.
Apple will drive and lead this segment - as always!

Order confirmation received at 9:09 am in Germany via online Shop.

42mm Sport white - 4 to 6 Weeks (May12 - May26)
Extra 42mm Sport Black Band - 2 to 4 Weeks

Has anyone in germany a order confirmation for 24.04.2015. Or we all on the same time frame for the early adopters?

David Pogue's review sold me

David Pogue's review on Yahoo sold me. I was also troubled after reading The Verge; perhaps having no limitation on notifications also affected the performance of the Watch for him?

I agree. He complained that their were too many notifications sent to his watch, then complained that there were too many options to switch them off! Spending 10 minutes setting this thing up the way that suits you is critical. I don't want to know about every junk email I receive. So use your brain and configure it correctly. Was that really so hard for a tech journalist to fathom?

But all the pundits said that the Apple Watch was no good and nobody wanted it and it would be a flop and . . . and . . . and . . .

Don't recall many ever saying that.
Pretty much every post I remember said that there would of course be an initial wave of Apple fans that just HAD to have the latest device.

Was always going to be a OMG must have it wave.
It was after that wave had past people were commenting on.

I don't want this...... but I do.... damn you Apple!

I hope it sells well as it'll drive the product forward but I think I'll be a v2 adopter if I go for it at all.

When will you Americans learn that you can't just sue people when things don't go your way!

I ordered within 10 minutes of the apple store comming back online and i got 4-6 weeks on the stainless steel version with the sports band. This is really disappointing.

But i guess the reason for this is, that i ordered at the german apple online store. Delivery dates outside the US are always a little longer and slip more quickly in my experience.

Ordered all black 32mm Sport at 5:10 EST. Ship date of June :( I wish I had remembered to stay up, but I totally forgot about it.

The problem is, you can.
