Supply "constraint" will ease after people try on the watch leading up to the launch

1. no longer interested
2. cancelled the models they don't want

This is a manufactured hype to look good to investors and to sell more. People tend to buy something in demand and if this is not selling out the demand would be weak and product would fail :)

Then why does this never work for Apple's competitors?

After watching many reviews, The Verge's really hit home how completely useless it really is. The whole thing is poorly executed and what makes it so poor is that it's totally reliant on your iPhone to function. Also, the speed and time it takes to pull data from your phone is inexcusable.

I have no doubt people will find a few uses for it, but it's not the game changer Apple tells us it is. the reviews were really poor which Apple can't be happy with or have expected. They are used to the press lapping up whatever they release.

It is not totally reliant on your phone to function.

Then their legal system must be unbelievably flawed!

It's really the other way around, what's unbelievably flawed is the power and rights of a big corporation in the US. Even so far as to help spread the propaganda that law suits are out of control to other countries like yours.

I ordered the SS Space Grey Link Bracelet 42mm at 8:03am (UK) via the app and my email states delivery 12 May, 2015 - 26 May, 2015.

I have no idea how you managed to bag that. The leaked predictions were already point towards 4-6 week deliveries, the store finally loaded on my phone and macbook at the same time (8:05) and immediately the delivery times were into June ? :(

Needless to say I didn't hesitate, SS Space Grey Link Bracelet 42mm ordered at 8:06 with Apple Care via the store site, email states delivery of sometime in June.

I managed to get a 42mm Black Sport, delivered 24/4.

I got a chance to try one on, and have a play today!

I was very anti-watch and still am to a degree. I'm not convinced.

Luckily I am able to throw a couple of hundred pounds at a "punt".

My thinking is, if it's as bad as I'm fearing I can just send it back for a refund. No harm done. If it's a good device then I will keep it and admit defeat.

My guess if there will be a wave of returns over the coming months. Maybe the largest returned item in Apple's history.

Didn't get up early enough, huh? That sucks!

Oh, and btw...Apple is smiling from ear to ear right about now because they just realized they sold more watches in 2 hours then Android wear sold all of last year. #actualnumberstrumpbadpress

Apple were always going to have initial strong demand, I just can't see the momentum carrying on for very long as no one apart from enthusiasts care about it.

P.S Get up early enough for what? To order? If you see my post history you would quite easily see I never planned to order one. I've been a critic of the watch and smart watches in general for a very long time.

We will never learn!

When will you Americans learn that you can't just sue people when things don't go your way!

I won't sue; but when there really are just a few watches available on April 24, it's misleading to call that a "launch", especially after spending $38 million in March to promote sales of the product.

Geez, Apple's website is still trumpeting "available 4.24.15" when in certainty there will be no watches for sale at this time that will be available on that date.

When you have a brutal demand and limited supply, this is what happens. Althought, this makes everything even more exciting, its quite bad not to be able to get your hands on the watch on its lanch date, never mind how early you get in the morning or how lucky you are in placing an order.

Got my two ordered at 3:03ish EST. 42mm SS Classic for me and a 38mm SS Malinase Loop for the wife with 4/24 to 5/8 delivery. Two sport bands ordered separate have a May delivery.

Whew!!! Glad I got up. Had I not and gotten a JUNE delivery I'd be so pissed.

I already had a chance to try several Apple Watch models here in the Apple Store in Germany. And I must say most of my scepticism is gone. They neither look nor feel nerdy and gadgety as the other smart watches out there, and using the software is quite intuitive. I'm still taking my time to make up my mind whether or not to get the first generation. But generally, I can see the point of the Watch now and it's indeed a very nice addition to the iPhone.

yup. same condition here. i ordered 42mm sports black one(shipping 4/24) just for the gag and see what kind of apps(or even jailbreak?) it can handle. But personally i think its gonna turn out pretty bad due to their battery life and limitation of being tether with iphone all the time. also bought portable external battery just in case.

It doesn't need to be tethered to an iPhone all the time, as was said it can send and receive texts even if it's not in range of your phone if you're near wifi (actually an important and useful feature if you're out running with the Sport model or at the gym or somewhere and there is wifi around). Still unclear to me how the watch "learns" the wifi networks though, sounds like your iPhone might have to have connected to them first at some point.

And if someone is able to "jailbreak" it, you could probably get it to do even more without an iPhone (at the expense of more battery life of course :)

Is there any bands with matching space gray colored adapter?

Well I guess we all know why there weren't any part or assembly line leaks......it's because they haven't started building them yet. #lol

I just noticed too that the Editions are having their shipping times bumped earlier? They used to be August and now all but one model stands in June.. slightly confused on how that works
