Interesting.. I have a UPS tracking number. It states that it should be delivered by 3 PM on 4/24 here to my office.

However, Apple still shows "Preparing for shipment" and I haven't received an e-mail yet. I'm going to assume (yes, I know what that does), that the e-mails are just slow in going out?

I have heard others saying the same thing, but then eventually getting the "official" email. I would figure that if a tracking number is there then you should be all set, but as you said, I am going to ass-u-me..

I agree... hey, I'm dissapointed I'm not getting it tomorrow more than likely. But threatening to do a class action lawsuit? get a grip. they gave us a window that we'd be getting it in. AND some people are getting it. The majority are people who ordered earlier than me by 2 minutes or obviously less popular color combinations to mine.

The attitude of some people is just amazing to me.

----------

yes I got it... and you'll find a whole bunch of us did. There's even a thread about it.

The part about less popular combinations....pink was one of the less popular and no one on any of the threads has had any movement...so it's not always great being part of the minority. :/

Here is some help for you.

1. If your order status states "Preparing for Shipment" you can do this.

2. Go to the UPS tracking page. http://www.ups.com/tracking/tracking.html

3. Select the option to "Track by Reference"

4. Shipment Reference is your phone number.

5. Fill out Zip Code and Country and find out.

Mine state the Preparing for Shipment and I did this to find out that it will be delivered around 3pm in Seattle.

my space grey sports 42mm was shipped today too. Got mail confirmation at 10:30 am ( gmt +1). Apple site says delivery tomorrow. UPS site still at step 1: label printed

Mine says "In Transit" and it actually shows where it is coming from. I'm sure it will be updated later tonight...

Not gunna lie... I'm a little jealous. My wife has gotten her shipment confirmation with a delivery date for tomorrow (38mm Sport White) and I am still "Processing" with a kind Email of Death sent my way. I even ordered my 42mm SG Sport first... Karma sucks haha.

Just chatted with a specialist at Apple. I ordered the 42mm space gray with confirmation at 2:04am and am still showing "Processing Items". The specialist looked up my order and told me it's still 'open' and in the warehouse. In his opinion, he said he think it should be shipped sometime mid-next week.

Sincerely,
Debbie Downer

I am surprised you were able to get that level of detail form Apple. I used to work there and I even used all my connections to look into my 42mm SG Sport and to no avail. Not a blip of info. I am surprised somebody at Apple said mid next week. They are trained to not give such information as it sets an expectation, that later if not delivered on reflects poorly on them.

i ordered SG 42mm sport @ 12:03 AM, my status says "preparing to ship" with 4/24 - 5/8 date, i didnt get an email from apple yesterday or today saying to "be patient". im hoping that means mine will be here tomorrow.

i really think apple lied to some of us. From what i read her there isnt a single person that ordered a space grey 42mm black sport band on april 10 in the first 5min that will be delivered on the 24th ... So no matters what was said on the confirmation mail or when we place the order one information was false since the beginning : Watch available 04.24.2015 ... For this particular model that s false advertisement .... I wish a class action lawyer would be willing to sue their ass !!! To me this is the worst apple product launch ever !!!

Lol...

But it does make you wonder what the process is for getting these shipped... Color? Band? Style? Bribery? I doubt we will EVER hear about it, but inquiring minds want to know...

Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm.....

I'm in the same boat as you... same SKU, same location, 12:02. Been "preparing to ship" for 3 days, CC was charged 3 days ago, and no shipping notice. I've been doing product launches since the first iPhone and have never not been able to get one on day 1 if I wanted to. This situation is #.

"Preparing to ship" means it has already left the warehouse and is in a UPS holding facility. You will likely receive it on Friday.

I wonder if any of these will be delivered today instead. Mine was enroute to NY from PA at 1:50AM...

No. Apple no doubt has an agreement with them not to deliver until Friday.

I got a 42mm space grey sport model that I ordered 2 minutes after it opened. Yesterday it switched to 'preparing for shipment', and they charged my credit card. But I havnt got a shipping notice. Any thoughts?

Yeah, when someone with a 4-6 week delivery time gets theirs before someone with the exact same watch that had a 4/24-5/8 delivery estimate email, I don't think they are adhering to the "First come, first serve" they are claiming.

It depends on where they are, and, I'm sure, many other things.

There is pretty much no logic to the whole process. I was in an Apple Store today to try the Watch, and one of the employees was saying that he ordered his watch as soon as the pre-order opened , and he is still scheduled for May, while one his friends ordered it just 3 days ago, and he is getting it delivered tomorrow !

Go figure...

It depends on what model they ordered.

That's what I ordered and both are coming tomorrow.

Mine is too, but UPS sent me a text and it's being shipped. what was your delivery range?

Last night when I checked it said shipped 4/23/15 and delivery by 4/24/15 by 3:00 PM. On UPS now it says "Ready for UPS" it is in Rialto, CA so I think it is coming by truck tonight.

Confirmation email at :04, still processing and haven't been charged for 42 space gray sport. I don't think I've ever been so eager to get a credit card charge notification.

Bribery... I haven't tried that... time to get on chat with customer service...

I figure the more expensive the watch the sooner you get it :p

Apple Watch Edition - Celebs get it early
Apple Watch with Link band... I haven't heard of any delayed shipments on those
Apple Watch SS and Apple Watch Sport...

I'm obviously kidding, but I would like an idea of when mine will ship that is better than "it arrives in the next two weeks."

Congrats. I was stubborn and thought I needed to do a try on before ordering so I'm in the June group for a 42mm space grey sport here in the Seattle area. Here's to hoping they can get it to me in the next couple weeks. There is definitely some jealousy/envy forming haha

I am super excited. I want to get it by the time I leave work tomorrow. Then, I might post an ad on craigslist asking if anyone ordered and received a 42mm SS and wants to trade with my sport. Worst comes to worst, I will use the sport till June and sell it.

What is more likely...

They are working down the list of people in order of the time they ordered and assigning them a watch in some random pallet.

OR

They are working on pallets at time of a single watch model/band type and charging cards and then sticking shipping labels on as they go.

If you haven't got a shipping for your model it probably because the pallet with your model & band is at the back of the line of pallets. Now if you got the email they probably know that there will be no more pallets of your watch/band type for launch day to fulfill your order and trying to ease you off your anticipation it might come tomorrow.

You should hope that your wife doesn't send haptic "I love you" messages to some other dude on the Macrumors forum who already got HIS Watch on launch day

This article, and many comments here, seem to imply that Apple issued some magical "update" in the middle of the night and now all is right with the world and everyone is happy. While I'm sure that's true for the lucky few who got a shipping notice, many of us are still in limbo.

I ordered the 42 mm stainless with black leather classic buckle. I got my order in literally 1 minute after pre-orders started. Apple hit my credit card on Monday 4/20 and changed my status to "preparing for shipment" and that's where it has sat all week, and where it continues to be now. No update. No tracking number. Nothing.

Why would they hit my credit card if they weren't going to ship the damn thing? What are they waiting for? I don't even think the authorization they got from my credit card is still good by this point, so they'll probably have to do it all over again.

What disappoints me are these stupid two week windows they're giving. All that does is create a ton of uncertainty and false hope. If it's not going to be 4/24, fine. I can accept that. But just give me a ****ing date so I don't have to keep checking.

----------

By the way, what on earth does this sentence of the article mean?

"All customers should now have access to a tracking number through UPS or another courier service to track their Apple Watch pre-orders leading into Friday's launch."

ALL customers??? Huh?? ALL customers most certainly don't have a tracking number. In fact, not even ALL customers whose credit cards were hit on Monday and status was changed to preparing for shipment have tracking numbers. I still don't.

So what does this sentence mean?

I ordered a 42 SG Sport and a 42 Pink Sport, but not until the evening of 04/10. We went to the store after work to see them in person; we were on the fence about waiting til gen 2, also were leaning toward the smaller version initially. Came home, decided on the cheaper Sport models and then maybe upgrading to SS in gen 2. So our orders weren't in until like 11pm on 04/10. Got the vague available to ship in June and not updates since. It would be nice to get them in sometime in May instead. I'm jealous of everyone getting them earlier, but I guess I'd be pretty pissed if I ordered right away and was still sitting in my position. I guess by the time mine comes all those nice charging docks will be available and maybe some third party bands.

It hasn't officially "shipped" yet because they are sending them via overnight shipping, which by definition needs to arrive the next day. If they did that on Monday then it would have had to arrive on Tuesday, and since the launch is not until Friday, it will be held until then. I would expect the status to change today.
