Whilst not sold on the design you can see a real consistency and design language through the wearables line, the watch curved edges for obvious comfort of steel on skin, air pod max rounded design with button design and scroll wheel interface and finally this, the profile looks like one of the airpods max ear cups without the cushion with additional scroll wheel protection from accidental pushing - in general whilst i love my apple watch and this one i’m sure will be excellent the whole industry has went stale and extra sensors need to be developed for wearables but unfortunately Covid has put that development back abit - will interesting how they flog the USP on this

More physical buttons??? Personally I would love to see the home indicator make its way to Watch OS and have the side button removed (crown can stay, maybe without being able to be pressed in only rotated)

I thought you could call 911 even without a plan.
I think so, but I don't always need 911. With my Garmin 945 LTE, I can have it set up so my gf and some other close friends/family can see where I'm running in real-time. I can message a contact with some default messages like "I'm fine, but come pick me up" and it will also send my GPS coordinates.

Then there's a benefit of tracking me live during races so she can see me on the course, etc.

If you use your watch for intense interval sessions, you need more buttons to accurately hit the lap or change transitions. That's why if you go to a running club, 90% of people have a Garmin/Coros, etc.

Honestly it is kinda ugly compared to the current design. Not that it’s marketed toward me but I sure hope that isnt what it’s going to look like.
Marketed towards you? We are the sheep my friend. Apple products are the pasture. We have no control over it. I don’t care for the design too but I’m going to buy it because I’m a sheep that’s ready to upgrade his SS 4 series

It’s kinda sad to realize, but Siri is leas convenient and less reliable than a simple pushbutton.
I use it for my dog walks and some runs when I don’t use my garmin. I often need to repeat myself but it does work to start a workout.

Sorry, but when I'm doing 200m repeats on the track or really fast mile repeats, trying to say "hey siri, hit the lap button" isn't going to work if I'm out of breath. This is ignoring the time delay that would occur.
