So apple has 5, the next closest runner up is Samsung at 2, and other with the same. How- (HOW!) does that average out to 3? The average of these number is 840 which is 2 bubbles, not 3. Are we sure this is to be taken for real? 847 is NOT the average of those given.

It could still be the average of all the responses (not weighted by device), if a majority of them were iWatch owners. But I totally agree with you that those rating are complete garbage, and paint a confusing, misleading picture. The real title of the article should be 'all smartwatches the same, iWatch tiny bit better'.

Best measure of satisfaction is sales and of course sales, not to mention sales

That's not true at all in a relatively new product category. Most people have not decided if they want/need one yet. You'll notice all the positive posts in this thread are by people that own them, and all the negative ones (Like Benjamin in every thread he posts in) are by people who don't.

Gave my girlfriend one and she likes and uses it a lot.

Only thing that matters, keeping the ladies satisfied!

Ha, my wife wanted a dress for her birthday last year. I gave her a SS Apple Watch instead and a check for the dress.

She loves the watch and wears it every day while the dress collects dust in the closet. She especially loves the ability to swap the bands and now her collection is worth more than the watch.

That's like saying. Oh i just bought a new car, but I just got sweet wheels for the car. I'm so addicted to the wheels that the wheels now cost more than what I paid for the car...

yes, but they only wear the dress once :p

but yeah, the article is misleading and the logic behind JD Powers statements is.... questionable. There's not much wrong with the Apple watch, I would expect users to overall be satisfied with it.

but the survey results show that pretty much everyone is close to equally happy with their watches, with Apple watch having a very slim lead (and that can also be attributed to other things besides purely the watch, like brand power and recognition that Apple has most other companies don't).

I believe sure, the Apple watch users love their watch. But how the hell did JD Power jump to conclusion that the near closness of the results puts the Apple Watch at a 5star but the closest alternative at 2star? this REEKS of Apple marketting influence especially since the Sales of the watch (Extrapolated over the last two quarters financials) have taken a serious dive after initial launch and is not the hot seller_

Samsung doesn't tell us Galaxy S7 or Note 5 sales. Therefore they are dismal. Same for S6, S5 and Note 3. All dismal sales.

Neither does apple. Almost none of the modern tech companies report real # of sales. They all report channel distribution or just revenues. This is true of Apple, Samsung, Sony, etc.

Took nearly an hour for someone to complain that it isn't round. You guys are really slacking today.

Psh

I'll never ever wear a square watch.

doens't mean its a bad watch, but traditional watches are round (for whatever reasons), and nlike smartphones, Watches are usually #1 for fashion first.

Not basing your FASHION FIRST piece around what most consider fashionable, was a mistake. doesn't detract from the Apple Watch, just limits it's appeal by a wide margin.

Ive basically took the iPhone 1 design, made it smaller, and called it a day. That was lazy. Rehashing old designs and just making things smaller and thinner over and over again doesn't make me think Ive is a good designer. Almost all his inspiraton came from Braun, and since then, its been a rehash over and over again. Good designers will step outside of their "comfort" zone and try to design new things.

Between Cook and ive running the show, Apple is starting to feel like the Apple of the 90s. mish mash o half baked products. Premium pricing for older tech, and anti-competitive legal behaviour to force lock-in.

There is only so much goodwill and brand recognition before they have to start eating into their profits and cash reserves.

Enjoying mine in the last 7 months. Really wanted a SS, but didn't want to shell out the cash for something I might not like. Well, I like it and am waiting for AW2, at which time, I'll sell the Sport and upgrade.

I don't care about ratings. I don't care about other crap on the market.

I've had my Apple Watch for over a year, and I can't imagine life without it. There are so many things it does for me!

I also can't wait for WatchOS 3 and for the next edition. I'll be there as soon after their releases as possible.

I've been tempted occasionally to pick one up but my Pebble is exponentially cheaper and has better battery life.

And I don't really know if I'd use all the features the watch offers, so much of it would go to waste.

Tosh.

No matter the subject (in this case, buyer satisfaction), any article mentioning Apple Watch automagically brings out the roundheads. The mania for this issue never fails to amaze, and apparently, never will.

I think there was a lot of hype for the Apple watch as a fashion item, and when it finally launched as a less than fashionable smart watch, there was a collective groan.

Just like the pent up demand for larger iPhones, people wont shut up about it until Apple offers a round smartwatch

The only thing I don't like about my Apple Watch is that I cannot wear it while swimming. I'm a ring closer and half of my exercises is in the pool, which the watch does not recognise.
