Yes, but not at that price.

I consider myself unfit to buy it and monitor my weight by pant size
and belt holes.

If size 38/40 gets tight it's time to stop eating.
You'll gain the weight right back if you do that. You have to find healthy foods you like.

And the myfitnesspal glance is a quick way for me to check how many calories I have left for the day.

I see them every day and from the looks of it, an updated version is not coming any time soon. I mean, look at all the leaks for the iPhone 7. We have been seeing them for months. Nothing about the next gen watch. I find it hard to believe that apple will keep a constant pace of selling the first gen apple watch. Eventually, the market will be saturated (if not already) with them, hence the low price for resell we are already seeing. I have been holding out for the next gen, but I really like my Citizens Eco-Drive Skyhawk watch. Time will tell if a second gen apple watch will come out any time soon, maybe next year?

Personally, it would benefit in my fitness tracking when I go for runs or bike rides without having to take my iPhone . The 6S plus is bulky on a run
Do you normally get lost on your run with out a GPS?

Still you don't need any sort of tracking for that. This is just OCD about record keeping and lets leave olympic in a separate box shall we. I run every other day and never same path twice without any watches.
I ran on the track team is school... we never needed a GPS to train.

And these are based on speculation.

Tim Cook has never revealed sales figures, supposedly for competitive reasons.

We all know the real reason.
utter nonsense. your buddies Samsung dont post sales numbers, nor Amazon. nor just about anybody except Apple. and as they said before launch, they wouldnt release it for this since its a brand new product and category for them, why give that data away to competitors?

so your attempt at spreading more FUD is a complete and utter failure. again.

I'm just curious what is the point of GPS in a watch?

For me I would like two things, for it to function without the phone and GPS, the GPS is purely for cycling, when I'm on the bike I only want the bare minimum and with GPS I won't need to carry other bits and bobs.

Samsung gives out sales numbers for their S line, as far as I know.

Dedicated running and fitness watches from Garmin, Sunto and TomTom have all had some form of GPS in their products.
Sony's super affordable ($130) Smartwatch 3 has had this feature for 2 years.

While the true benefits of GPS in a watch are still in it's early days, it's definitely the way things are headed. With a proper WatchOS SDK, 3rd party apps may produce that killer watch app yet (even if it's as stupid as Pokemon Go).
However, if Apple's next version watch is simply faster and more band options, it'll be dead in the water.

Nothing to do with getting lost, or navigation.

I'm not here to educate you on the benefits of GPS in sport, jsut cause you did not utilise it, does not mean it does not have a major part in modern sports. It's got huge applications from simple excerise to formula 1 . Already posted a link on how it's used in rugby......

Not really. They sort of used to give these out in terms of updates as to how long until they hit milestones like 10 or 20 million. But since the flop S4, they stopped doing this. The last update they gave was Feb 2014 when they announced 200 million total Galaxy S sales since the first one launched (the iPhone sold 413 million over the same time period).

I think those people who feel they need a GPS in their watch because of the modern sport of running are a small minority. I would think most people who buy smart watch don't buy it to run with.
My preference would be for a thinner watch. It's possible that adding a GPS and cellular would only make for a thicker watch.

Forget the watch. I want a Apple Smartbelt. It can monitor your fitness, let you talk to Siri, long battery life due to the size of the belt, get sports scores, translate languages, get movie tickets, listen to music with its loud 2 speaker stereo sound with big bass, tell you to stand up if you have been sitting down too long.

Not buying until it can enhance my life in a positive and innovative way.
With that attitude I don't think you will ever own one...

Because he wants to observe the Swiss watch industry ascribe sales declines to everything but the AW's entry into the market.

watchOS 3 has made my watch feel like a whole new watch. It's incredible how the software has improved in such a short time.

That's correct. Also the battery will take a major hit with GPS. Cellular makes no sense to me.

My Apple Watch is a poor fitness activity tracker for my needs , the HR just does get along with me, and I find it useless for fitness .

In relation to thinner....I like watches to have bulk, so thinner does not appeal, too feminine for me, though that's just my opinion. I would not mind the current thickness and more battery life .

After buying Beats, the Apple baseball cap...gansta style needs to be the new wearable / audio device ;)

MacRumors you should update your buyer's guide. For some reason it says the Apple Watch has been updated twice already. It actually hasn't been updated at all, which you should already know since you state in this article the next watch is the so-called "Apple Watch 2".

While you're at it you should update the iPod Touch guide. New colors do not mean a new iPod (and new bands don't mean a new Apple Watch). You claim they "updated" the iPod Touch when all they really did was release a 4th gen in white. Then you claim they "updated" again when they released the 16GB 5th gen. This is misleading as it makes it look like they are still on a yearly refresh cycle when in reality the 4th gen came out in 2010, 6 years ago. During that 6 years they have only updated the iPod Touch twice although in your buyer's guide it says they've updated 6 times! It says Don't Buy Updates Soon even though they just released the 6th gen last year. At the rate they're going it will be at least another year or more before we get a 7th generation. That doesn't sound very "soon" to me.

End of rant. Didn't really know where to say this so I guess it ended up here. If there's a better place to put this please point me in the right direction.

If the next one has GPS and Cellular capabilities I'll be on the preorder list!!

If the next one has power-hungry gps and cellular capabilities, you will be restricted to two lifts (each for one millisecond) to check the time each day.
