Blood Oximeter???
To answer my own question, as expected blood oxygen SPO2 sensor is there and working, but they're kind of avoiding mentioning it (not a word in the keynote) and it probably works a bit different under the hood so it can exploit a loophole in the patent infringement case.

Head to the apple watch page, scroll to "more features to empower your health", keep clicking to go right, and blood oxygen is the LAST feature:

I hope the new sleep features means that Apple's sleep tracking has improved and is easier to use. For those of use using the watch to help us manage sleep disorders, the Apple Watch sleep console experience is hot garbage.

Yay for the improved battery life though. I might have gone with an S11 instead of the Ultra2 if this were out when I needed an upgrade.

Yeah. I’d love for the circadian stages to be tracked more accurately, and for shifts in circadian timing to be easier to see over time. Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder be a real b…

  1. Hypertension notifications are currently under FDA review and expected to be cleared this month, with availability on Apple Watch Series 9 and later, and Apple Watch Ultra 2 and later. The feature is not intended for use by people under 22 years old, those who have been previously diagnosed with hypertension, or during pregnancy.
Big move Apple!
Ok good, the 10 is getting it. I’m good with that

It sounded to me like it was Watch 11,SE 3, Ultra 3 only.
It wasn’t clear. I would expect the hypertension feature might be the new models only. But as others have said, the sleep score feature feels like it should be possible on older models. But maybe not
Hmm, I can see hypertension being Watch 11 only, but sleep score? Seriously, older apple watches can't do that?

So SleepScore is shown on the WatchOS26 page, so likely on some older watches?

I'd welcome any improvement, but I'd even be happy if they would simply make the stupid sleep chart actually sensical if you don't have a consistent sleep schedule.

It'll tell me I slept 2 hours today, but inexplicably the day started at 6pm and I actually fell asleep at 3pm the day before so I have to go back to yesterday and start doing math to figure out that I actually had 5 hours of sleep.

Interested in the AW11, however I was on the fence about Jet Black due to chipping issues in AW10 so I was waiting for a space grey option, however this looks similar to the silver colour. The space grey in AW6 was beautiful.

As someone who has been postponing an Apple Watch purchase for the past two years this was just imply underwhelming.

AW 11 is the same as AW 10, apart from battery life?
I finally decided to buy an Apple Watch and there is literally nothing new. I mean, newer chip, maybe a bit thinner and smaller bezels....

Now idk what to do, since it seem clear AW 12 will come with a bunch of new things...

Thank god!

«Hypertension notifications will be available on Apple Watch Series 9 and later, and Apple Watch Ultra 2 and later, with watchOS 26.»

«Sleep score is available with watchOS 26 for Apple Watch Series 6 or later, Apple Watch SE (2nd generation) or later, and all Apple Watch Ultra models, paired with iPhone 11 or later, running iOS 26.»

the 11 doesn't have new sensors nor sip for sleep apnea. and the se3 gets it too. If my 10 doesn't get this I will freak the f out
Sleep apnea detection is also available on my series 9 and have been for a while so I dont know what you're talking bout :D

So hypertension detection is achieved thru LLM, aka AI over a 30 day period... so definitely no actual BPM readings...

does that mean it will require an iphone with apple intelligence?
I think not, it's achieved thru SW in a manner like sleep apes was introduced.
And from another post it seems it will be available for S9 and Ultra 1 and newer.
So using same sensors...
Sleep apnea does not require Apple Intelligence.

The sleep tracking software is pretty bad. How can I can get 7 hours sleep, yet during that time, achieve the same amount of stand hours. 🤣

Silly question but this is my first apple watch, not sure whether to go with the 42 or the 46..I have small hands small wrist is it better to see it in person before buying?

Honestly as someone who has been waiting months for the Series 11 to be announced so that I can decide between the new flagship and a discounted 10 as my first Apple Watch, I think waiting and getting the newer one is worth it. I frankly did not care about the 5G and hypertension rumors (especially if the latter was going to be added to the 10 through a software update anyways), but both the longer battery and the more durable/scratch resistant screen (which I haven't seen many comments on) are definitely giving me the nudge towards spending a little bit extra.

Absolutely try it on in-person. I was convinced I was going to go for the 46, but when I tried the sizes on for quite a while at the store, I realized I just like how the 42 feels more. The weight difference was noticeable, the 46 felt more clunky as I moved around and thought about how it'd feel on me at the gym, and the screen size on the 42 was good enough for me.

Think I’m just going to look for a discounted Series 10 on Amazon. The 11 doesn’t add anything over the 10 that I would really need.

I’m currently using an SE2 that is really starting to show its age. I’d replace it with the SE3, but the thinner case of the 10 is mainly what I’m interested in.

Must have been taken with the new 17Pro camera ;)
Don't think the design, the case, is changed at all
They did say something in the keynote about it being the thinnest ever, but they didn’t say anything about how thin or if it was actually reduced
