Apple has posted a new ad to its YouTube channel to show off the versatility and sporting smarts of the Apple Watch Series 2.

The one-minute ad is titled "Go Time" and principally showcases the new wristwatch's built-in GPS and water resistance up to 50 meters, using a montage of scenes that suggest fitness, fun, motivation, and time-keeping.

Watch owners are seen measuring swimming time, their activity and heart-rate on the court, on the road, and in the gym, having fun on the dance floor, and taking time out to breathe with the new mindfulness app, as well as benefiting from the messaging capabilities of the watch.

The commercial keeps to the same dimly lit, high contrast style as Apple's iPhone 7 commercials, despite this ad not being limited to nighttime activities.

Just a shame you can't get a hold of one. Here in U.K. They are sold out as far as the eye can see and beyond. Why do Apple do this every year. Announce something that on a select percentage can get a hold of the item. Really grinds my gears

As usual marketing is everything.
The fact that every time Apple releases something new (iPhone, iPad, Mac Pro, Apple Watch, ...whatever...) they tend to make sure supply is <50% of probable revenue the first 2 - 4 weeks, they create the buzz they hope for on the web.

Going to use this watch for running and surfing.

And hoping for a phone-function on the next update :)

Certainly a great ad. The placement is done perfectly, and the visuals are immersive. Audio production is top notch also. While I don't plan on getting a Watch2 (still digging watchOS3 on my now-ancient OG watch), I think this'll pull in some more buyers for sure

Yeah, I agree with all that. It's a cracking device. Since I got mine I've never missed a call, or even those gentle calendar reminders (DON'T rely on those for alarms). But the latest update is quite minor so I'll be staying on Series 0 as it is.

I just wish they'd fix the iCloud photo library-Apple Watch photo sync bug. That'd be wonderful as I sit here on day 3 waiting for my pictures to magically sync over a bunch at a time.
