On pre-order day at around noon, I ordered from T-Mobile on their EIP monthly payment program. Estimated ship time: 10/9-10/20.

My order is listed by T-Mobile as “still processing”, BUT my credit card was just charged for the $29 in sales tax. They usually charge when they ship, so hopefully it is coming soon!

T-Mobile 42mm LTE space gray/black sports band.

The watch came today - 1 day after my card. Overnight shipping. Cool!

Sorry for not going back in the thread, but anyone have a clue whether Best Buy or Apple directly is the best bet to pre-order with at this point or if the reality is they are likely the same from a fulfillment standpoint?

I'm torn between trying the sport loop vs sticking with the band. Maybe I'll just order one from each location and let fate decide... I can always cancel the order that doesn't ship first I suppose.

42MM Space Gray Aluminum/Black Sport Band GPS+Cellular

Ordered from Apple site 9/15/2017 around 1:29pm EST. Purchase order said delivers Oct 13-Oct 20.

Apple Store App says "Order in Progress" and the same dates.

So not sure that Apple store orders are getting priority.

If you live near an Apple store, this was the year to pick one up on launch day. On a whim, went to my local (Chicago area) a few minutes after opening, stood in line 2 minutes, and would’ve been done in less than 5 if I didn’t stay to chat, and get enticed into buying AirPods. Fewest number of people I’ve ever seen in an Apple store. They seemed to have almost all common varieties of AW3 LTE (at least in SG Aluminium).

I would think you’d do better with Apple. Be careful if they both go to “preparing for shipment” at the same time. You can’t cancel the Apple order, but of course can return it. I’ve had that happen.

I got the sport loop, not my fav, but I had the sport band and it’s sweaty. Loop’s better, but wrist detection is a lot better in AW3 so I can wear it much looser. Loop doesn’t look as good though, IMO.

Seems like this thing will never leave Asia -_-

Really hoping it’s here by Friday, even though it’s saying Monday. I originally had a 9/29 date and shortly after shipping it changed. If it’s en route to North America like it seems right now, I think I have a shot.

On preorder day, the SKU was not properly set (as told by my ATT store) and thus even though I signed a contract, no order was placed. So now I’m screwed and have to wait till November even though I did the preorder that morning. The store is going to offer me some concessions when the watch comes in but that isn’t cool that I still have to wait so long.

I waited until the 20th to pre-order the Space Black 42mm from Verizon. Fast forward to today, I received an email asking to call them to verify payment information. The order was missing my credit card information (so they couldn't charge my card), and the entirety of the eSIM configuration wasn't properly tied to my iPhone. They fixed all of that, but my estimated delivery slipped from Oct 11th to Oct 25th through Nov 5th. Pretty disappointing to say the least.

If it helps anyone, I ordered via verizonwireless.com on my iPhone and used Apple Pay.

I did end up doing both, and yeah, I'll have to keep a close eye on them if they go near the same time.

Worst case I'll return the Best Buy one in store since I don't have an Apple Store within reasonable driving distance.

I have a Martin and MacArthur wood band that's my daily wear. Whichever band I get with the watch will be the beater so to speak, for working around the house, wearing to the lake and such so I'm less worried about appearance and more about functionality / durability really. I feel like the sport band is probably the wiser choice, but the band does seem like a cool idea. Just not sure how I feel about it with water, but is sounds like they dry fast.
