I’ll be the first, why not keep the same size battery and increase the usage time even more? Never makes sense to me.
Because if there is one time to complain about the thickness of a device, it’s a watch.

Help, I fallen and I can’t get up ...Is it really efficient if you, as the user, have to recharge the watch more frequently?

What if you fall in the shower?![]()
Way back in the day when I was a kid with a regular watch, I didn't take it off for sleeping or showering.
With the Apple Watch, I do take it off for showering, partially because it's a Series 0 and that seems too risky for it. For sleeping, I do not — I use it for sleep tracking. So, I have essentially two windows to charge it: most of the charging takes place an hour before sleep, and some of it takes place in the morning while I eat breakfast and shower.
But no, it isn't as easy as with the phone.
I'm thinking there's an issue with your watch or you need to try setting it up as new without restoring from backup. It should be getting far better battery life than that. Also--the article doesn't say the battery life is not as good. It says the capacity is lower while retaining the same usage time. It’s true..the 4’s battery life is not as good. Just came from a 30 minute workout after a full days work and the battery went down to 30%. On the APW2 and 3 it’s usually between 50-60% after my day is done.
That’s cool I was the same growing up I was rarely taking it off too -but charging it really doesn’t seem like the hassle people make it out to be.
Every day since last Friday you’ve been getting a full day less? After 8 hours my series 4 is at 80%. I haven’t done any workouts yet today, but I usually top off my watch at home before I go to the gym. And then top it off before I go to bed so I can wear it for sleep tracking and as an alarm. From what I can tell so far battery life is very similar to the Series 2 I was coming from.I am getting a FULL DAY LESS usage with series 4. It really sucks to lose a whole day of power for an “upgrade”
For me, unless I’m getting a week it doesn’t matter whether I get a full day or two days. I’m used to topping it off once or maybe twice a day and if I know I’m going to be gone for several days I bring a charger with me.To be honest, I'm sure people would have preferred a slightly larger battery vs the 1mm reduction in thickness.
"That's not what she sa-..."For me, I'll take a smaller package with this kind of battery life.
You had 3 years of that.To be honest, I'm sure people would have preferred a slightly larger battery vs the 1mm reduction in thickness.
So, is it only in Norway that the advice from insurance companies and experts in home fire prevention strongly recommend not to charge your phone, Mac, watch or other devices during the night? I would certainly never ever sleep in a room where one of my gadgets are charging!I’m guessing it sounds like some people either don’t have access to a charger every night (get another cable), or never take their watch off
I preordered but not on preorder day, a few days after, but before it shipped. I was on the fence about getting the first generation and had a lot less disposable income back then. Anyway it was so backed up that it didn’t arrive until early June 2015. The battery life has steadily declined on mine. Lately it has been really inconsistent. Some days it dies at 4pm, other days 8 or 9pm. I don’t even run the exercise app any more. I have nearly every setting dialed back to the minimum and pretty much only receive a few notifications aside from Messages. It’s driving me crazy and my Series 4 44mm SS just won’t ship! Side note: since I haven’t been using it much for exercising and activity I’ve been slowly gaining weight again. It really did help me be more active and healthy. Now that my wife has an Apple Watch for the first time (40mm AL), I’m looking forward to competing with her.Just out of curiosity--how long have you had your Series 0?
I had been wearing my Series 0 since the second they came out--I don't think I ever skipped one day. So if I hadn't upgraded to the Series 4, my Series 0 would be approaching 4 years old in April of 2019. I noticed that all the way up through watchOS 3 it got pretty great battery life with moderate use (workout days would usually require an extra charge at some point), but then when watchOS 4 hit, things started going downhill fast. Original watchOS 4.0 made it way worse, then they'd release a dot update and it would get better, then it got worse again, then better. Kind of back and forth like that for several releases. The last two dot releases of watchOS 4 my battery life was just garbage. By mid day I'd be at 60%.
I actually don't think it was an issue with the inadequate hardware. Even though the Series 0 is super slow on watchOS 4, my wife has a pretty new Series 0 that she got replaced recently by Apple due to the battery going bad in her original, and she usually goes to bed at night with about 50% battery left. I suspect that 3-3 1/2 years is possibly about when you can expect an Apple Watch battery to start really showing its age.

I set as a new Apple Watch every time. We'll see how it goes the rest of the week.I got the LTE model Series 4 and I have done 3 hour long workouts with it so far (2 walks, 1 bike ride). All three times I was running the workout app and streaming music or podcasts to my AirPods simultaneously. This was also while on an LTE signal, not using a connection with my phone. Each time I've done that, my Series 4 battery has only gone down about 10%.
