Did Apple stop using Ion glass? The lower models of the Series 3 still had Ion X glass, with sapphire only in the Stainless and Ceramic models (which was why I bought the Stainless). I don't see any mention of the materials used for the front crystal of the Series 4 anywhere.

Unless someone pays well for my series 3 on Craigslist, I might wait until series 5. I love the larger screen but I can live without it.

So is the S4 chip 7nm or what size? What about the W3?

If not 7nm, why would Apple not leverage this for it's smallest device?!

I can't decide if I want to get the SS series 4. Not sure if it worth the money. I currently have the SS series 3 w/cell, but was planning on getting the series 4 gps. Not sure if I really need the cell service at $10 month.

Personally speaking, I'll be upgrading from S2 and am very excited:) Mine has just become super slow and unresponsive, makes even selecting a workout a chore.

Speed is the biggest reason why I'll be upgrading from an S2. I absolutely hate how long it takes for the workout app to load and then to be able to select a workout. It's even more frustrating when I'm done with the workout and I'm exhausted and I can't click "done" on the workout because it's so slow! I'll donate my S2 to my sister who will use it more as a watch and activity tracker so she won't need the speed.

Question for all. I ordered the original Apple Watch when it first came out but returned it as I didn't vibe with it more than my FitBit. With the newly added ECG reading and a few more features, I'm interested again. One thing that sticks out is the 16GB of storage. Does anyone know if you can store music or stream music from your watch to Beats BT headphones w/o your phone nearby (as in the gym)? That would be a HUGE selling point for me. - Thanks.
You can stream any music stored on the watch to any Bluetooth headset. If you have the LTE model and an Apple Music subscription, you can even stream music not on the watch. All without your phone nearby. This has been a feature since the series 3.

Aluminum has Ion X glass on the face, sapphire crystal on the back only. Both have ceramic backs.

I’d prefer a comparison between the original Apple Watch and Series 4. Some tech people will be upgrading and some consumers will consider the cheaper Series 3 that is still available. But for many of us who bought the original Apple Watch, this is the year to upgrade.

i guess I'll wait til xmas and make myself a nice gift. By then I'll know better how the battery life is and how well the ECG works. I also prefer to just walk into an Apple store, try it out and buy it outright. The battery life is really the only thing that holds me back.

I bought the SS Series 3 for the sapphire face, and would have bought the GPS version if it had sapphire instead of Ion X. I'm not sure how much of a difference LTE it makes in overall usefulness for most folks, as the cell reception is considerably poorer than the iPhone's (which is to be expected). I do admit to having used LTE to answer a call (mostly accidentally, because I'd left my phone too far away to answer in time) a handful of times, but that's it. What I'd love to know, per the above, is whether the face on the Series 4 is Ion X glass or sapphire. Nothing mentioned anywhere, even in the technical specs on Apple's site. No sapphire = no sale for me... it holds up far better than the Ion glass.

From a series 0 or 1. No question go for the upgrade. For series 2 or 3 upgrade only if your battery is starting to be burden or if you already know you have AFIB.

That's very specific. I imagine a Lot of S2 and S3 owners would find an upgrade worth it because of the bigger screen and processor speed boost. For those those S2 or S3 was a "trial" this could be the chance to upgrade to cellular or a nicer case material. That's what is will be for me.

Had the AW3 for about 8 months and ran over 500 miles with it. Sold it and my Garmin laughs at that 18 hour battery with average battery of 7 days, hitting 10 days several times between charges (also WAY more GPS time).

I still can't believe AW doesn't have a desktop dashboard.

Anyone think it's worth upgrading from Series 1? I'm thinking yes but wanted some second opinions.
I have a series 0 and am definitely upgrading. It is SLOW. I want more speed. Love the GPS (I run occasionally), larger face and longer battery is a big deal.

This is me. I love my Generation 0 but the series 4 has really caught my eye.

I wonder what the selling price for a mint generation 0 42mm sports space green is? I am assuming not a lot. The charger is probably worth more lol.

finally can retired my S0. The speed must be night and day difference!!! Can't wait to preorder both iPhone XS Max and stainless steel watch S4 in black.

XS Max and Nike+ series 4 for me - I thought long and hard about which Nike version to go for... the space grey with black sport loop won out.

I did wonder what all the fuss was about having a nylon velcro loop with reflective coating. They have been selling them on eBay for £3 for the last year! I already have two of them in different colours and another 2 that aren't reflective.

Pulling the trigger instantly - cross fingers that we get in the first wave.

I had an Apple watch from work and wished for music playing and storage as a killer app and someone on this board pointed out this was already built in. You can stream to your blue tooth headphones and works great. I think only 2 Gb of music. With new update I think can also do podcasts.
[doublepost=1536870161][/doublepost]The second gen heart rate sensor probably reflects apple giving up on oxygen saturation measurements. The original watch has the sensors for oxygen measurements (which would, in my opinion, be more useful than EKG) but they could never get it work consistently primarily because of hair and sweat on the wrist.

Where'd you find that?

It's in the feature list when you try to order.

I'd like to see a Series 0 to Series 4 comparison, lol. It's going to be especially crazy for us.

Also to note for T-Mobile customers, the Apple Watch Series 4 does not support band 71 LTE like the iPhone XS:

https://www.apple.com/watch/cellular/

If you live in an area like me that got band 71 but not band 12, then, uh, good luck getting a decent signal indoors in some areas with such a small antenna because my iPhone X struggles. Fortunately most people will use this outside.
