Apple Watch Series 5 Pre-Order Thread (US)

Has anyone that ordered 9/10 or close to the keynote NOT been able to track their watch through UPS yet? I ordered a stainless steel with milanese loop right after the keynote. Debit card was charged Friday evening and Saturday afternoon order went to preparing to ship. Saturday night noticed order went back to processing and then yesterday afternoon it went back to preparing to ship. The pending charge fell off my bank account but the order still says delivery 9/20. Matter of fact all colors of stainless steel in the store still show delivery on 9/20. But it's not showing up in UPS yet (both a MyChoice member and tried via phone number and order number minus the last 2 digits and nada).

Hi

I ordered the Hermès space black. Can’t find it on UPS and is been preparing to ship since Saturday. Shows a pending charge on my Apple Credit Card since Saturday also.

Thanks for replying! I'm glad someone else is in the same boat BUT I hope we can track both our orders soon of course. Every year I get my items delivered as promised but I get so anxious in the days leading up to it! Hahaha.

I am right there with you!! My phone has a label but I am more excited about my new watch. I sold my Hermès Series 4 last week and I didn’t realize how much I would miss it until it was gone. Friday is a big delivery day for me Series 5 Hermès Space Black with Noir band and iphone pro max Ibanez space grey!! Ugh. Gonna be a long week!!

I am facing a similar situation. I pre-ordered a 44mm Space Black Stainless Steel Series 5 Apple Watch with matching Milanese Loop band on September 10th. According to Apple, the order is "being prepared for shipment" and is scheduled for delivery on Friday September 20th. I tracked the shipment via "Track by Reference Number" on the UPS website using the order number minus the last two digits. However, the resulting tracking information relates to an Apple delivery to another city and state. The Shipment Details available with the UPS My Choice account include several Reference Numbers but my phone number is not among them. Entering my phone number in "Track by Reference Number" on the UPS website resulted only in the tracking information for the iPhone 11 Pro Max that I pre-ordered on September 13th. I called Apple, but was only provided with baseless assurances that I will get delivery of the Series 5 Apple Watch on September 20th. Any insights or suggestions would be appreciated.

Unfortunately I get the same answer from Apple support. I contacted them yesterday because I had never seen an order of mine go from processing to preparing for shipment back to processing again. I got the same reassurances that I would get my delivery on 9/20 as stated on my order. I mean, I do believe them, but I would feel better if I could see movement on UPS. Just like you and Dstopsie I can only see my iPhone 11 Pro Max in UPS.

I wonder if the SS models are in the US already somehow so they won't move through UPS until later this week? It's interesting to me that the SS models still show delivery of 9/20 (and store pickup of 9/20 as well for my area, I'm in Orange County, CA) but pretty much every other model I've spot checked have delivery dates past launch date and/or no in-store pickup at the moment.

I dunno why that would be, I'm just trying to rationalize my watch not being in UPS yet lol.

Ups reuses their tracking numbers. I had that happen to me in the past.

They won’t move until sometime Wednesday. I go through this every year.

I inferred that there was a problem with the shipment of my order. But your and Dstopsie's posts give me cause to be somewhat more optimistic about the possibility of delivery on September 20th. I am looking forward to get the UPS Tracking Number from Apple.

Because they're stainless steel for some reason? Some other people have posted they can track their watch on UPS but I think they were different models (titanium and aluminum come to mind).
 
I'm confused...

Can you order a stainless steel model without cellular? I don't see an option to configure it that way. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing. It is just not possible since the introduction of LTE.

You don’t have to activate an LTE plan though. You can just use it as a GPS only watch (and as an added bonus it can do emergency calling and fall detection even without a plan).

But to answer, a man. Happily married (to a woman, not that it matters) for 13 years and an awesome 2 year old son. All my watches have been black stainless. Last year wanted to the jump to the white ceramic, but they dropped it. So taking the plunge this year now that it’s back. I like to wear a lot of red. Maybe because it’s my company’s primary color? Not sure. Just think the red/white combo looks really good.

I've been flipping back and forth between the SS and Nike version of the S5, but now I see that pickup in store is currently unavailable :( earlier today all stores around me had available pickup for 9/20. Anyone see the same?
 
I have no tracking for my watch either, but have it for 2 phones. I ordered right when available and it went preparing to ship pretty quickly, and I was fully charged that night. Nothing from UPS My Choice either, I am assuming that means they already in the US and we might not see movement until Wednesday or Thursday.
 
I ordered the series 5 Nike+ SG from Verizon. I saw on the store page when I ordered it said deliver by 10/04. I was just on there now and it says deliver by 10/02 on their store page. Is there a set day for the Nike version? Curious if it’s a error or if the date is not set in stone. I’m coming from a 4, decided to make the move. Kind of feel like I should have ordered a regular space black ss. Maybe next go round.
 
Watch is in Louisville, phone still hanging out in China.

Friday is going to be fantastic.
 
SS Series 5 44mm with blue-ish sport loop, picking up in store Friday morning at same time as phone. First time not doing home delivery.
 
Any chance standard aluminum series 5 will be available in store on Friday? First time Apple Watch buyer and unfamiliar with demand/stock at launch.
 
I was hoping my Ti’s sep 27-oct 5th shipping date would have changed to the 20th, but doesn’t seem that way.
