If it could pair with an iPad I'd buy one. Maybe even a new iPad.
I think the problem is that AW sort of needs to be in constant communication with the device, either via BT or WIFI. I think many people have their iPhone on them or next to them, whereas the iPad...not so much, and the AW may not function as well.

My local Apple Store has most of the models available to pick up today. I just bought a Blue and a Space Gray so to pick up in 2 hours. Will decide which one I want once I see at the store.

IT isn't that "in your face in real lief" my guess is that it is the lighting that has made it pop
I hope that's true, I like the navy look as depicted in the highly produced stills by Apple. I just bought a Series 5 a month ago (my first Apple Watch!) and I think I would have purchased the blue if it had been available at that time. Got a blue band, at least. ;)

(BTW, the University of California is my alma mater, and if that blue is really deep dark navy pair it with a yellow band. Would be better the other way around, but *shrug*. But take the red watch and pair it with a dark blue band and we have my hometown Minnesota Twins!)

Blood Oxygen is not working with iOS 14.2 Beta 1 and watchOS 7.1 Beta 1
After upgrading the new Apple Watch to 7.1B1 Blood Oxygen App was unable to open and after deleting it it was unavailable to reinstall.

Anybody else facing these issues?

Has anyone else tried the Watch swimming?

Series 6 seems to be so much more responsive to wet fingers and water and it's easier to navigate and open apps when wet.

There are a bunch of missing features in Beta 1. I read an article this morning somewhere...Blood Oxygen is one of them.

Not sure why you’d pay that much more for a coloured case and a blood oxygen app you’ll probably never use. It runs a little bit faster, charges a little bit faster and that’s about it.
Until they release a watch with actual fast charging, personally I’d go for the SE.

Looks the same to me. Suckers... Ha jk. But I am surprised apple didn't add some distingishing feature like a ring around the turning piece, to make people realize thier watch is out of date and they need to upgrade (or did they?)

In re the blue color, here is a video that was in Macrumors' unboxing video story:

In this one it seems brighter than in the Apple site photos, but not as bright as in the pic posted here in this thread. All three would be affected by camera and lighting conditions, but I think the video because it's in motion would be the most likely "accurate" one. I like it as in the video: blue enough to be clear it's blue and not Space Gray, but not too bright so as to remain blue instead of BLUE!

But I'm not buying a Series 6, so I can believe whatever I like on this issue and no problem! ;)

Yup... ordered my S6 this morning to pick up in store after work and only an hour and a half to go until collection (I’m in the UK). So glad myself and my gf ordered as my local store is now out of stock!

As I consider the purchase of an SE for either my daughter or my partner, I agree I don't think the blood oxygen monitor would make me stop and consider the Series 6 instead of the SE. I know the colors are cool, and if I knew the blue one was coming out I MIGHT have put off buying my Series 5 and waiting. But I don't think I would pay an extra $100 just to get it (or to get Product[RED] for my partner). I think the one thing that I would miss is the always-on display. Would I miss it $100 worth? Probably not, but I think that would be something I would notice and miss.

I think you are right, but can't you go jogging with just the watch? And aren't the new ones 'cellular enabled'? I think they just want to sell more phones. :) My iPad is on Verizon, so it would be close to a phone if that's all it takes, and it is in the area most of the time (work home commute). Too bad.

Just looked: Yeah, the GPS+Cellular ones can function without the phone, but you at least need it to get started. It must need a phone number.

I believe that the phone is also needed to initiate any watchOS updates. But to your point, an iPad could handle that part.

I ordered mine within minutes of them being released. Not sure why I couldn't get it today...?

Same here, but if you live near a store, you should be able to order for pickup and schedule a time to get it. I did that and canceled my delivery order.

Just got off the phone with Apple, to ask my first-world question...how much would I get back in trade-in on my (month-old) Series 5 if I wanted to get the Series 6 JUST FOR THE BLUE COLOR. Well...way short of enough, lol.

As for needing the cellular, I had originally purchased the cellular, but a week later traded it back in for the GPS only; the killer app for me did not work independently of my phone anyway, so that particular use would not benefit. And then I thought "when am I ever without my phone REALLY?" and decided it wasn't worth the $100.

missing Always on display is a instant no go for me

Kind of annoyed that I can literally buy the exact same watch right now and pick it up today when my pre-ordered watch won't get in for another ten days.

cancel the online order? You shouldn’t be charged until the moment it actually ships. That’s what I did when I woke up this morning

My S3 watch still works fine, but this last upgrade to watchOS 7 was a pain because the S3 only has 8GB storage.

In deciding which product to buy, I figure I will keep a new watch another 3 years like my S3, so that extra $100 buys me some new features, a faster CPU than the SE, and is only $33 more each year I keep it. A good investment to me (as well as resale value better on S6 than SE).
