Thanks to Macrumors for this thread, I had the braided band and a crazy late delivery date. I cancelled and changed to a Sport band and got a delivery 6 weeks earlier. As others have done, I then ordered the band (braided solo loop) separately.

Here's my order. Has moved to Preparing to Ship. Not sure if this means I'll get it earlier than stated.

Ordered a 44mm Series 6 Edition in the lighter titanium color with the green braided solo loop. Mine is preparing to ship but says delivery September 25-29. Hopefully not that long. I'm also in the United States.

Gah, I ordered mine through my business portal, 44mm space grey with blue sport band, but I haven't gotten an indication of any delivery date yet. I guess I'll know when my card gets dinged. I ordered maybe 40 minutes after the keynote finished, so who knows.

shoot. As usual I forgot to check our business portal and I could have saved 10 bucks. Oh well

I wonder what the difference is? My wife and I ordered our watches (mine is fairly standard with no special band) - within 15 mins of the event yesterday but some people have Friday 18 delivery, the rest of us are 25-29?

I cycled through quite a few watches and they all said September 25-29 delivery date.

I live within 10 mins of an Apple Store too. (California).

I was online ordering minutes after they brought up the store. I noticed many watches said Sept 25-20 (like mine), but some, like the gold aluminum 44 mm with pink band (popular common model), did say sept 18. Made me think about picking that one, but decided to stick with the red one for fun.

I am interested to see so many orders for stainless steel cases, I started with SS believing that it was stronger and that this was important for water resistance (I also had not factored in the speed of Apple technology cycles). As I am now buying a watch every cycle I have shifted to an Aluminum case, which has also given me a new range of colours. I would be interested in hearing from those who bought SS cases to learn the benefits they see for the additional cost. Thanks

Sapphire screen (for inevitably striking the watch face against walls, etc.), heavier and more premium feel, preference for a polished look over the matte aluminum - those are a few reasons I can think of. I started with aluminum and now do SS and upgrade annually. This year I locked in a re-sale value of $375 at buybackworld.com two weeks prior to the launch for my SS SB series 5, so I typically get about 50% value back at the end of each cycle. $375 annually with SS vs. $250 annually for the aluminum (taking into account approximated resale value) is well-worth the upgrade to SS for me.

I’ve always had aluminum due to cost, but now that I can afford the SS, I‘m getting it because the SS gold looks just a bit deeper in hue, and more polished.

I have always had the SS and trying the titanium this time around. What is more important to me is the display has the sapphire glass. I find my S4 still perfect after two years of daily wear. Friends who have the ion-x glass have many small swirl scratches. I am definitely not kind to my watch. Apple's site does not talk about the sapphire glass on the ss and titanium, which is odd. But Slashgear said Apple confirmed these models still use sapphire for the front display.

As for my timing. I ordered about 1-2 hrs after the announcement. S6, 44mm, titanium, blue leather. ETA Oct 14-25 to the US. :(

I initially bought an Aluminum - Series 2. I am quite active (Cross fit, Weightlifting, Soccer etc - so the watch takes a beating) and so noticed within a short time I had a couple of scratches and dents on the watch. Also on the screen a few scratches. This lead to me to change for the SS Space Grey Series 2 and then the SS Silver series 4 two years later. Much more durable from major dents and screen scratches.

This time, I decided to try the Silver Titanium as I didnt much enjoy the micro-abrasions on the SS Silver on my series 4. That said the SS Space black was very resilient and you could not see any damage or even micro scratches after 2 years of use.

I think Apple has a good idea what stock they will have on launch day, but after that, its just conservative guessing. Based on production rates, they often have more than expected on launch day and move up orders accordingly.

You people are going to hate me LOL. So, I finally decided to make up my mind on keeping the Titanium Case with Baltic Blue Leather Link. However, I do not want to wait that long OCT 21??? So, I decided to order another Titanium Watch with Product Red Sport Loop which clearly shows the delivery date for SEPTEMBER 28. Ahhh Much better. 2 of these watches will be returned to Apple.

Stupid bands are causing the watches to delay. Shout out to @nyermen.

Why don’t you just cancel the others? I ordered four but decided on one and cancelled the others so just wondering why you get all shipped.

If you choose some new, non-regular watchnand it will delay your watch delivery. Im getting my SS this friday with silicone band. If I wanten to choose some new band it was 7-8 WEEKS.
I ordered a silver aluminum and blue braided band right after the event ended and then changed my mind. Cancelled that and ordered the blue on blue braided. That looks quite stunning in the photos.

That kicked my order back to mid November. Just now I cancelled that order and paired the blue 44 cellular to a deep navy sport band. Now my delivery date is Oct. 1-8!!

I'm now thinking it's a good idea to wait to order the braided loop band. I love the looks of it and definitely want one. I used the template and tried to figure out what size to order. I think I need a size 7, but I got different measurements.

At this point no one knows how they will fit. I'll wait until folks actually get them and report back on how they fit. It may be that they find they need to go up or down a size. By then the supply should be easier to get, too.

I have other bands I can use in the meantime, so now I'll just have a long wait on the band that I'll order later. Not both the watch and the band. Two weeks wait is a whole lot better than 2 months for the watch itself!;)

Isn’t that sapphire glass actually worse for prevent cracks when striking the watch against hard objects but better at preventing scratches?
I thought I read that on iMore once. One reason I just get the aluminum.

I’m thinking a lot of the Preparing to Ship orders will ship tomorrow, as Apple Support won’t allow you to make any changes to these orders as they’re too far through the process.

What makes you think they'll ship tomorrow?

Obviously we won't know for sure until the Sep 25-29 watches start to ship, but I am thinking that we won't see those deliver more than maybe a day or two earlier than that. Everyone is basing their estimates on the past, but things this year are very different. So temper your expectations on seeing them deliver much earlier than mid next week. At least until we start seeing movement! ;)

Once again, Australia getting the shaft. Hopefully it comes forward as they start shipping.
This is the same for people in the US, Canada and UK. Got zero to do with being in Oz and more with band choices. The solo loops seem to bump the dates forward for everyone.
