waiting for the comparison that matters, the 8 vs 4
The screen of my Series 1, yes, one, popped off a few weeks ago due to swelling battery. So waited for the event to see new watches. They look awesome but I must confess some disappointment - not seeing deals on the Series 7 yet that would make it much cheaper than the Series 8 and the Series 8 does not seem to have much to recommend it over the Series 7. That said, I'll likely bite the bullet and get the Series 8. I do miss having one on my wrist. I did check on repairing my Series 1 but the repair guy recommended against.

The 7 was ~$80 off on Amazon for awhile leading up to the event. Just hold tight if you still want the 7.

Still on an S3 which has been awesome. Likely to go to a refurb S7 or a new S8, to get always on display, larger face, and heart monitoring among other health benefits.

S7 more likely since I’m not temperature sensing is going to evolve into anything useful for me, and I can get one in blue. I think I like the blue better than black :).

Just received my S8 replacement for my S4. Agree, there's not much difference between the S7 & S8, but the jump from S4 to the S8 larger, always on screen with lots of other new features was a noticeable improvement. Though the S4 showed no sign of battery wear, it's nice to start over again with a fresh, longer lasting battery. Was going to upgrade to the S7 last year, but the color options didn't work for me; glad aluminum is available in silver again. Also amazed & happy there's still no "planned obsolescence" watch band design change :)

I went ahead and upgraded my S4 to the Ultra. My battery health is at 75% and my watch have to be charged 2-3 times a day before bed. I workout everyday at work and by noon, the battery is already under 50%.

Will be interested to see what you think. I am contemplating an upgrade for the same battery reasons.

I have a perfectly functional silver SS 7 but I'm upgrading this year for a few reasons- I kind of love the gold SS, the temp cycle tracking stuff will actually be useful for me, and my husband who refuses to ever buy himself anything needs an apple watch so he will be inheriting mine. He had a heart attack last month so the HR & ECG will be very useful.
