Instead of having all these sensors why not work on longer battery life

I can take or leave a thermometer, honestly. Really hoping the explorer edition that is rumored comes in price aggressively. Anything will be a pretty big leap from the series 3 I have used since launch.

I'm on the fence. I can get a brand new Apple Watch Series 7 with a 41mm screen for £309. I was going to buy it tomorrow. I don't think this is a reason to delay getting one.
My only argument "against" is we are two months away from a potentail greater price drop on the series 7. I'd buy the S7 now if I needed it. If you have something else you are using I am always a proponent of waiting to upgrade this close toa product launch, especially if you tend to keep your technology for the "life" of the product.

Jack of all trade master of none. Soon the sensors would overload Apple Watch to a point where I think sensors gonna interfere with each other. Obviously they are gonna try not to let that happen but battery life could also take a hit if too many sensors are running, even in rotational manner.

It's a no-brainer. Like an outward facing temperature sensor, precise body temperature sensors in airpod pros, and temperature based contraception tips. They are only dragging those festures out to have something new for new models. Non-invasive blood sugar and pressure measuring will also be coming some day, if they ever figure out how to do this properly.

Thing is, people already know when you have a fever.
How?

You can feel hot. Or Cold. Sweat. Or not sweat.

There are times you can be certain you have a fever - but that isn't always the case. And it is particularly confusing in people who have thyroid issues which are not optimally treated.

I wonder if this sensor will be used in a similar fashion to Garmin’s Body Battery. Using body temperature, along with other metrics to determine the condition of your health.

Okay, but will it have an internal cowbell?

Apple was afraid of patent infringement.

LP® TITO PUENTE SIGNATURE PRESTIGE COWBELL
The powerful, middle overtones produced by this bell are as unique as “El Rey del Timbal” himself. The Tito Puente Signature Cowbell is made in the USA and has LP’s patented self-aligning eye-bolt that fits 3/8” to 1/2” diameter rods.

PS
Made in America

The poor battery life of the Apple Watch is a huge drawback. The best I got out of the AW7 was 26 hours and that is completely unacceptable as I travel for work and leisure, as it may be nearly 30 hours to get to my final destination. I can easily charge my iPhone on a plane or train, but a pain to charge the AW.

I have come to the conclusion not to trust the Apple Watch when it comes to health metrics. I once had the AW alert me that I might being having a heart attack and wanted to know if it should call 911? The only problem was it was 6 hours after the fact and at the time I was moving around heavy equipment (which the AW said I wasn't doing anything strenuous 🙄). So I went into the settings and turned that feature off, I rather someone walk up to my dead body than have it call 911 that isn't a real emergency. 😂
Except the AW doesn't detect heart attacks (and they tell you so in the ECG app). Did you fall? That's the only reason I can think of why the watch would dial 911. I fell twice recently and the watch detected both and offered to call for help.

Honest question: I haven’t followed the cycle of sales post-launch, but can I really expect to see much deeper discounts on the 7 post-launch? They are currently 20% off at Amazon with Prime Day less than two weeks out.

With the rumor of the design and processor being unchanged, I’m increasingly interested in a discounted 7 over a full price 8 and thinking if Amazon goes much lower than the current $330 for Prime Day, then I might jump on it.

Rather than continuing to add sensor after sensor, I'd much rather Apple work on improving the interpretation of the data that the Watch already collects. For me, that includes getting more of the current data (more HR readings and more HRV readings) and then helping to add context to the data so that its actionable.

You can add all the sensors in the world and all the data, but if the data isn't correct, is too small of a sample, and/or isn't put into context, it's not that helpful. That's the next big step for wearables in general, I think. Context and interpretation.

more ways to get people to freak out and run to the emergency room and blow $2500 in 1 day visiting the emergency room

One would think that after all the years, the MR populace would learn to treat a rumor as a rumor until proven otherwise by Apple. Wait until the watch has been revealed and tested, before getting angry, sad, or indifferent.
