The young lad in the Bullring Apple Store who gave me a demo and let me try on a couple of Apple Watches is the first person I've noticed wearing one.

Apple Watch sightings in the wild (not counting anyone you know)

I have a Sport Space Gray (42mm) with black band, and I've actually seen quite a few more of them than I thought I would:
1. I work for a fairly large employer, don't get to interact with everyone who works for this company much, but a colleague who needed IT help happened to have a Stainless Steel Space Black 42mm, and we both geeked out for a moment remarking on our watches. This was a month after launch.
2. Mid-July, eye doctor appointment. He had four assistants running around and all of them had apple watches, all sport models, silver, with sport bands (green, blue, pink, white). I inquired about it, and one of them got it at launch, and the others thought it was neat and followed suit. Not bought for work-related purposes.
3. Two weeks ago, going out with friends at a diner, saw a guy at another table with the exact same model watch and band as mine.
There's one or two other instances, but I forget details. In all I'd say I've seen about 8 or 9 of them, other than my own, outside of an Apple Store/other place that sells them, on a person's wrist, and in public. So far I'm the only person among my friends and immediate co-workers that have one. Though many ask me about it and keep saying they're on the fence or want to buy one, but either feel it's too much of indulgence, or have significant others who would probably scold them for it.
This is in the PA/NJ/NY area. In all I'd say this is about on par, or even slightly above, the number of original iPhone sightings that I saw the first year it came out.

Saw a lady with the silver sport (white sport band) in starbucks this past Saturday! Hubby actually noticed it first! I was more enamored with the size of the diamonds in her ears!!!!

It honestly seems to be ramping up for me. I caught someone at work with one a few weeks ago. Yesterday walking through chicago a young lady had a sport with white band and today saw the same kind of watch on a different woman. Last weekend saw a guy with a SS BSB as well. Seemed really slow at first but I'm seeing them more and more. Don't know if it's Best Buy getting stock or what but they definitely seem to be picking up lately.

i live in Shenzhen, China and I've seen plenty of apple watches.
In about one hour this evening alone I saw: a Space Grey sport, a couple of sport watches with white sports bands, a SS modern buckle (on a man), a SS link bracelet and what i think was a classic buckle. and mine and my wife's watches too.

A little bit different response in that we went for lunch today and the waitress asked me if I had the Apple Watch on and what I thought of it. Showed her a few of the faces and told her what I liked to use it for. People are definitely aware of it and curious. I suspect the next time they are by an Apple Store or Best Buy for example they might stop in and try it on and get the demo.
Haha the flyer went straight to the shredder. I actually wondered for a moment if it potentially was a ploy to attract young tech savvy voters.
My son just started pre-school and the parents of one of his new friends were both wearing a silver Sport on a sport band.
As of today I have seen 0 in public, I just placed a order for this beauty I will be getting today.

Just spotted a colleague in another department with one on. He works in IS. I wanted to ask him about it because I'm getting mine today!
Nope not a single one. But I still get asked about mine all the time. I know the bloke across the road has one because the delivery guy had his one as well as mine when it came but neighbour is a miserable sod so have never spoken to him never mind exchanged heartbeats!
