Ah ok, I'm in London and the south east, seen quite a few so far.

Yeah, Sheffield folk will probably think about Apple Watches once we've got the indoor toilets sorted.:)

I suspect that you've seen quite a few and I've seen none is more down to differences in our lifestyles than the north south divide.

Saw several on our walk today. The most notable was on a guy jogging -- notable because he was wearing not the Sport model nor even the Sport band, but the SS model on the Milanese mesh loop.

It makes a lot of sense, really. Before rubber materials became good enough for watch straps, sports, or "outdoorsy", watches used to be on steel link or mesh bracelets for durability and easy cleaning.

Why is that notable? Lots of people have the SS. If you saw someone wearing an Edition I'd consider that pretty notable.

I have not seen one other person than myself with one in my area. However, I did notice that Neil Cavuto on Fox News has a Edition Watch, cannot really tell which band he has though.

The usual idea is to wear the Sport band, not the mesh, for workouts. Instead, he was rocking the mesh loop and sweating the bejeezus out of it.

Oh. That doesnt sound comfortable. I always switch to a sport band when I know I'll be sweating. Usually I wear a leather loop.
That's kinda what I thought, too. Still, what I like about the mesh loop is it's easy to resize on the fly, which the bracelets on my regular watches can't do. I could imagine making the mesh snug for a run and enjoying how breathable it is.

that's why I use milanese loop for workout(running, weights)now. much for comfortable than sport band.

I saw several people wearing apple watches at south coast plaza mall in orange county today.

Just went to Tokyo and saw a number of people wearing AWs. I think most of them were Chinese tourists

IVe been all over this summer. Saw 2 sport editions: Old guy in Stratford-upon-Avon and an old lady in Universal, LA. But lots of yuppies are wearing them in Japan.

In fairness to Apple, the AW is not a watch that stands out since about the only "at a glance" difference between it and a regular conventional "tank watch" design is Apple's offset crown. That's something only an Apple watch enthusiast would likely notice.

While I didn't expect Apple to create something with a case that's dramatically different, I certainly didn't expect a watch as plain looking as this one. J Ive must have been too busy doing something else, because the watch certainly doesn't look like a designer was involved. That's not a criticism, quite frankly I prefer clean plain shapes, but for all the Hype Apple loves to lavish on every single product they make, the watch is easily overlooked when out and about.

Which brings us to the question, I've been watching intently, I live in a major metro area of CA where money is no object and I've not seen one AW. That's quite revealing. When in my local very busy Apple Store, a place I frequent a few times per month, the wide, long glass display case with about 20 of them on display, is sitting there collecting dust. It's quite shocking that no one, absolutely NO ONE is looking at watches.

I do think they did a good job, it's just a niche product that Apple chose to build at a time in history where wrist watches aren't something that's popular anymore. Not only do I not see AW, I hardly see anyone under 35 wearing a watch period.

Apple is all about simplicity in design. Over-designing just for the sake of it is ... digusting. The (space grey) iPhone is just a round rectangle with a completely black face when the screen is not on.

On TV, watching GP of Belgium (F1) I saw a Ferrari mechanic wearing one with the green sport band.

I've still not managed to see one out in the wild.

I don't really expect to see many being worn around where I live but I've been to a few places this summer where I thought there would be a good chance of spotting one. When I visited an electric vehicle show in France I thought there would be enough nerds there to guarantee breaking my duck but my luck wasn't in.

I've seen a few out in the wild here in Germany (actual Germany; not counting on base); saw some a month or so ago while in Paris. Actually saw a couple of Editions being worn. I assume they were real, strictly going off of the clothes and bags the wearers had. It's usually the SS version I see; maybe it's just easier to spot. I don't find myself staring at people's wrists. The most I've actively come across in a day was in Amsterdam (weird, because at the time they weren't being sold in NL), and it was random people seeing mine and asking me how I liked it.

I've seen people at the airport with it, but never anywhere else
Yep, frequent travelers seem to be early adopters:
  • First iPod I ever saw in the wild - on a plane.
  • First iPad I ever saw in the wild - on a plane.
It's something to do with having to travel light, but still wanting to take a part of home with you. Apple nails that sector.

While I was in Chicago, I saw a good amount of people sporting the Apple Watch. Back home, I've only seen less than a handful of people with them on (not counting myself).

I'm here in Iowa City, IA and have noticed at least a few Apple Watches around. Not nearly as common as I'd like, though.

I was stopped at a red light today and there was a contractor in a pickup truck stopped next to me with his arm hanging out the window. He had a stainless watch with black leather loop.

Hey, went thru my Starbuck's drive thru this morning and my barista was now sporting a SS Watch. White sport band. Asked her how long she had hers and she said just a few days. I think she had the 38mm on as her wrist was on the small size. Cool! She had noticed mine a month or so ago and said she wanted one. Asked a few questions at the time and if I liked mine.

Other people have noticed mine but this is the first casual sighting of someone else I've seen other than my friends wearing one. Of our friends, I know 1 couple that each bought one (1 tech, 1 not), 2 male friends (1 tech, 1 not), and 1 female friend (non-tech). We were at a picnic the other weekend and saw many on wrists there. I'd say from my experience it's been almost half men and half women, maybe slightly more guys. A few guys wearing the SS link or ML. 2 watches were the aluminum sport, otherwise SS. So far more men with SS than women.
