Why’s it the wrong way up?My dbranded Action button looks better than this... and that was a botched job on my end.
To reject a warranty claim, Apple would have to demonstrate a connection between the fault and the modifications made by the owner.I suppose it’s better to have a watch you like than one that Apple would repair under warranty.
I'm hopeful they will have a space grey version down the road and no orange accents.
Apple Marketing's idea of International Orange. International Orange is actually a very red orange, the color of the Golden Gate Bridge, or very close to it (which most people consider more red than orange).Apple: "International orange" 😂
Well, it depends which mix you use. Aerospace, Golden Gate Bridge, or Engineering. Each is a different shade and varies by brand. Sherwin Williams likely was not involved in the coloring of the watch button. Ha. We are more in the Aerospace (NASA) range with the button.Apple Marketing's idea of International Orange. That doesn't sound like a very good morning....I thought about this all morning and I agree that I have mixed feelings on the orange button. The ring on the crown is fancy enough.
Still I am not going to be grinding my watch.
LMAOThe orange ain't going away. The orange again exists for easy visibility in low visibility situations like say, in a blizzard, or underwater since the watch can be used as a dive computer. Hate it all you want, but that color is necessary. Function over fashion sweetheart.
Yup not every iPhone Pro buyer uses that for anything pro(fessional/state etc) and not every Porsche buyer is a racing driver. The list goes on.Well, you and I know that the majority of Apple Watch Ultra buyers won’t buy it because of their serious extreme sport activity.
Apple is mainly a fashion company.
It’s just a matter of time till we see a 10 tons of weight guy hobbling down the street with an Apple Watch Ultra.
Think how much less foolish you'd look if you'd done a google search.Apple: "International orange" 😂
It's fine to like the watch the way Apple designed it. This watch has a good functional design and is a good watch for its intended market. But aesthetically it is objectively not beautifully designed. It doesn't have to be beautifully designed though as compared to the normal Apple Watch because it serves a different purpose. Choice-supportive bias happens and it's quite natural. But I like my Watch just the way Apple designed it. Beautiful design is one of the many reasons I bought it in the first place.
Yeah. This is one of the issues for the watch in terms of its "look". The watch is pear shaped, busy and both angular & curved. The orange button isn't what makes it look ugly to me. It's the body, specifically the way the screen lifts up from the body, that bothers me the most.
Exactly. I think you kinda prove the point that this design isn't about looks, it's about function and that's a fair design choice. BUT, could Apple have made it look better? Yes, if they wanted to.The orange ain't going away. Not sure if anyone responded, but the screws lead to nowhere. There’s only a plating. You still have to access the internals from the face, unfortunately.I didn't realize until now that there are actual screws on the bottom of the Ultra! That's an interesting detail. I wonder if that makes it more repairable.
It’s the protrusion around the crown that is the ugliest part to me. I understand why it’s there…but it’s still ugly. The orange button isn't what makes it look ugly to me. It's the body, specifically the way the screen lifts up from the body, that bothers me the most. I would like to see it in person though as the features and bigger battery are a big selling point for me.
I thought about that but then I realized that the button is always in the same place on my wrist so I would be more likely to find it by touch and not sight. But I don't think I'd buff the color off.The orange ain't going away.
